Love Guillermo Del Toro. Pan’s Labyrinthe, Devil’s Backbone, Crimson Peak... the only contemporary filmmaker who incorporates the life and importance of the past in the present and understands that the dead continue to live in some form. Even though he didn't direct it, the scene in Gravity between Sandra Bullock and Clooney when he comes "back" to the spaceship is pure Del Toro.
I've only seen Crimson Peak, and that because it was labeled "gothic", and I was so in awe of the visuals that I don't think I really paid attention to the story. I hear good things about Labyrinth. I'm not really into monsters though.

Guillermo del Toro is a truly imaginative filmmaker. I totally believe him when he said he wasn't anxious about making something after Shape of Water. He just wanted to do something different and not follow trends, that's why I love him.
Greatest director in the world for me. Guillermo has that seamless fantasy/horror style which just works in every setting he chooses! I'm still sad he didn't get to finish the Hellboy trilogy...
