If you're talking about the Malaysian style of McDonald's, we have foldover chicken or beef during Eid ul Fitri and during Chinese New Year, we have Prosperity Burger, for example. these are pretty seasonal McDonald's burgers in Malaysia and we have that annually. My personal favourites spicy chicken mcdeluxe and spicy crispy chicken burger. apart from that, I always look forward to Prosperity Burger every time Chinese New Year is around the corner. from time to time, you can get different tastes of French fries. Last time we had seaweed flavour, before that spicy hot flavour.
Yup to get the Halal certificate required to operate is very strict, not only you need Halal ingredients, but the process of preparing the food from start to finish must also be clean and up to standard.
It's the spices that makes it good. This part of the world is where the spice silk road were. Most countries around these region were colonised multiple times because of spices. Spices are cheap and bounty. Chicken are fresh and the variety is different from other continent. Halal is only a certificate do not contribute to the taste of chicken. Halal or not, all chicken go through the very same mechanical process. The only difference when is halal is a classic Islamic blessings tape were played and slaughtered alive skipping the partial sedative process often cause bruised and broken bones in chicken. Because of animal cruelty some countries halal process do not skip the partial sedative steps and the end result is higher quality white meat

But foreigner might feel that will effect the original meat taste and not like it.. so maybe you can ask for less sauces, no onion according to your own choice. And some Ramly stall, have their different style recipes and you can find your favourite one somewhere
I'm glad you said the street shops and stalls have way better nasi lemak than McDs. Its the truth. McD nasi lemak taste like its mass produced lazily. Yeah anchovies must be fried freshly and properly to achieve the perfect crispiness. And the rice should be fluffy and fragrant. Love your observation. Keep it up

Not only is better than USA it's better than in GCC countries due to many factors first the variety of foods specially the chicken it's out of their menue also Mc Donald doesn't have a two pieces or three pieces of chicken and local country food the price is also is cheaper

I think that in the US, mcD is more a dollar menu alternative, hence the low rep it gets. (Not sure to what extent though so I could be wrong) Where as in Malaysia, it's pretty much a poor man's rich food (or even rich man's rich food) Like you'd never go to a mcd in Malaysia and not see one or several high branded cars parked outside (BMW, velfire, mercedes if you're lucky)😅😅
There are 2 most wanted burgers at McD of all times which are Spicy Chicken McDeluxe and GCB.. once you try both, may proceed to other dishes and seasonal ones. Malaysian McD dishes are Bubur Ayam McD (porridge) and Nasi Lemak McD... only in malaysia, should try as well
To me the spicy cheese burger is best when you add on egg to it which is another rm1+ in the option. I also top mine with extra pickles and onion which is free in the add-on option :)
Another thing about McDonald's Malaysia that is more powerful than the United States is that McDonald's ice cream kitchen windows can serve ice cream every day. Ice cream machines never fail!😂😂😂

Nasi lemak is the national dish. I'm surprised it was your least favourite. Most westerners love it. But to be fair, I think Mac's version is not so tasty. You should try Spicy Chicken mcdeluxe, the best when you eat it while it's hot and crispy. Cus the fried chicken patty will be but soggy if you let it sit.
