  • California's shores are taking a pounding from dangerous waves. Powerful storms have churned up ocean water, resulting in waves as high as 40 feet. Those waves are causing chaos on land, damaging structures and bringing flooding to the area. Carter Evans has more.

As usual I am NOT shocked when I see or hear about how Californians do things. Example: They are told the beaches are closed because they are too dangerous? Then that will be the next place they will go. This 'big sand berm' will save your homes and businesses. Now that is a real joke. I guess they feel better when anything is done. It won't even take a rogue wave to level that 'berm'. That berm is going to be GONE within the week. Get a brain of any kind and stop thinking you are going to rise above the actions of Mother Nature. It is very hard for me to feel sorry for them.

I swear I LOVE surfers. LOL
The news could report super dangerous 100+ feet, society-ending monster waves and surfers will run out there with their boards and be like "Surf's Up, bro!!"'

Design fat plastic C-shape wall-sections of interlocking infrastructure: make them nest in stacks for storage; design them to stand end-to-end against sand-berm-backing and buried-footing. Wave forces that would top the height of the berm, redirect up and away following the C-shape, they're stationary shovels for for waves: thus inbound surges become airborne outbound crests. Concrete versions already exist, but these could be deployed circumstantially.

Why is the news not asking questions to scientists as to why this is happening? Reporting is great but would be nice to know a possible scientific explanation for this event.
