- NAACP commemorated the Year of Return with Jamestown to Jamestown Trip. The delegation numbering about 300 embarked on a memorable trip from Jamestown Virginia to Jamestown Ghana to commemorate the 400th anniversary since the first enslaved Africans arrived in Jamestown Virginia on August 20, 1619.
The delegation met with President Akuffo Addo, visited cultural and historical sites, and was described by Derrick Johnson (NAACP . President) as a reconnection trip to help understand the journey that brought them to America in the first place.

Most of the monies go to individual businesses and building the economy. Tour companies, hotels, local singers, dancers, restaurants, people who sell souvenirs, etc!!!!!
