Good effort friend. It is good if forest department can do something like this instead of the large teak plantations they creating. The teak plantations just produce some timber. The miyawaki forest generate a self sustainable ecosystem. Those miyawaki food forest are great for ecosystem and all the wildlife. It can also produce additional income for people from forging and other products from forest.
The saplings planted are those native to Kerala, including , big trees, sub trees and shrubs. To name a few are Malabar nut, Rosewood, Neem, Malabar plum, Jackfruit, Guava,Sacred fig , Wild Jack etc
Kerala has a wide range of soil textures like laterite, black, red, clayey, sandy etc. From our experience, we have found that the texture of soil in Kerala differs even between a distance as less than about 5 kms.

The purpose of Miyavaki is not to grow trees fast but to improve biodiversity and animal life in an otherwise barren landscape, which would kick start a biological cycle and thus the forest expands by itself and will self propagate. It would be best to use this method in areas of deforestation to regenerate the forest rather than using it in urban areas.

New year, many new forests in the gods own country...Surely needed to defeat global warming and changing climatic conditions☺☺
Excellent effort! Hoping to see a follow up video, showing the growth
Yes will upload, but not now

Hari Sir, can you please provide the updates of the location? Soo eager to see the growth of the Miyawaki forest.
Thank you!
Which is ur location? I can suggest the nearest one. 10 districts have more than 2 yrs old Miyawaki forests
@@CrowdForesting an update on the sites in this video would be interesting
@@CrowdForesting Can you tell me some place in palakkad or thrissur?
Can you tell us which plants and trees were used successfully in this? Looks beautifully successful!

South Indian soil are distinctly red in colour, I grew up in soils of Assam-Arunachal regions near the banks of Brahmaputra

Red soil is mostly found in Telangana and Andhra region
I wish they had explained the different steps and the materials used

what happens to the original topsoil, is it thrown away or is it used with soil amendments > thanks
its not thrown away. We use it for making the potting mixture to fill the plot.
Block soil is sutiable or not for miyawaki planting if suitable plz told the preocess of plantation
Soil texture can be made compatible for planting saplings as by the Miyawaki method. For details do call 6282903190
How can I learn this technique...iOS there any institute/agency give training for it?or kind of internships?
We are planning for a training Session will update once the date is ready. Thank you

Spacing between two trees pls reply
4 plants in one sq.m ....... one big tree and the rest 3 can be a combination of small trees and shrubs

This can be simulated in places as small as 100 squarefeet
Why planting forests where already forest is growing by itself (plot 2 and plot 3)? 🤔
Both plots are a grassy area with no biodiversity, even the 3rd with the small cane plants.
Those areas were sustaining very low levels of biodiversity.
I have a plot in Calicut where I'd like to try this. Who can I get in touch with to discuss and execute?
