Buyers are getting smart and not overpaying like the past 10 years
I'm not sure about that. I know it's a rare car but most classic car collectors in the usa don't like the fox body and don't really care for it being part McLaren. Yet the doge red eye sold for a lot of money and Heley sold for around what they have been in the last few year's

Most people think McLaren is the same as the British McLaren. They are not the same.

I would of thought a 1 of 11 fox body would of brought more money than that, must of been that 4 banger under the hood.
That mustang should have fetched much more. Fox body 5.0's are getting that and 80's SVO 's are going way up. Was great to see that car get cleaned up and saved.
But how much more? People say that they will only pay with the market will bear, and apparently that’s what the market more on that day. It sucks but it’s reality

Only collector nerds way in the weeds would think a foxbody anything is something special. Obviously there were not too many of them at the auction. 34k and you can tell Dennis was pissed about that. It's a pinto with lipstick... What do you expect?

I love that McLaren Mustang even tho I don’t tend to like foxbody’s.
But I guess the car is a very niche market, I couldn’t see the car getting a good price in around Europe either because normally who tends to buy McLaren’s don’t buy Mustangs. Or at least that’s what I think.

What would be interesting is for us to see what your pre-auction estimate is for each car so we can see what the actual prices paid at auction is and educate us as to which models might make sense to restore and which ones don't make enough money to make sense.

I don't think they even have BBQ's in the UK,always raining, but here in Oz every house has one. Here's another thing, we don't and never have thrown shrimp on our BBQ. Clearly was a marketing guy and not an Aussie.

@@1982MCI Really?. I'm 54 years old mate, been to many many BBQ's in that time, so trust me, we do not and never have thrown a shrimp on the BBQ. Also we don't even call them shrimp here, we call them prawns, so the saying would be totally different right?. The closest thing I have ever heard of and also done myself is put Yabbies on the BBQ, they are like a freshwater prawn, but it's not common place and we certainly don't have a saying 'throw another Yabbie on the Barby'.

I've seen those Res eye's going for 100-120k at Mecum, the Original rare Broncos hitting 80-100k at Mecum. Barrett-Jackson use too be the big money, Mecum is the place now.
Big Money buyers at Mecum and the reserve Brings Nicer cars for people that won't sell for whatever they can get.
Whats the difference if they ask 100-120k at Mecum, Mecum has so many reserves, it's just not entertaining to watch.

We had 9 cars overall and 5 today on Sunday. We did very well on today so overall, it was a success. Gotta stay optimistic at these auctions, you never know what could happen

I’m surprised they haven’t started a lawsuit against Ford over the mustang name because it was somehow threatening and mistreatment of the wild horse.

The mustang was so under priced, obviously not enough people wanted it..... heck of a lot of work for relatively small return, however, you win on some and lose on others, I'm sure Dennis was happy saving and reviving it, rather than out and out profit......
