Greece is just heaven and Greek food is just divine. After Greece I just keep coming back to Greece too. I was dissapointed anywhere else with the food when you get overblown with crazy dishes in Greece
I was there in September of ‘21 and I ate at Plateia along the harbor. And it was the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. And I thought the price reasonable compared to America where I’m from.
As someone who has been to Crete almost every summer since I was 3 years old (I’m now 24) it was so lovely to see you guys enjoying the island and eating all of the amazing food! I’m going myself in a couple of weeks and this just made me even more excited to go xx
Μπραβο παιδια για ολα !!! Πολυ καλες επιλογες φαγητων ο μουσακας τα ντολμαδακια ο " μπεκρη μεζε " ολα . Να ειστε καλα και να ξερετε οτι υπαρχουν παρα πολα ακομα πιατα να ανακαλυψετε την επομενη φορα που θα ξαναρθετε οπως το παστιτσιο , το αρνακι στα καρβουνα η ακομα το αρνακι το " κλεφτικο" , οι ντοματες και οι πιπεριες γεμιστες με ρυζι οπως λεγονται εδω " τα γεμιστα" επισης ο κοκκορας με χοντρα μακαρονια και αλλα πολλα που θα μας παρει πολυ ωρα να τα πουμε .Να ειστε καλα φανηκε οτι σας αρεσε η ελληνικη κουζινα και επισης ειναι αληθεια οτι για εμας τους Ελληνες το φαγητο ειναι γιορτη ειδικα τις Κυριακες μαζευομαστε ολη η οικογενεια ειτε το μεσημερι ειτε το βραδυ σε ενα τραπεζι τρωμε πινουμε και κουβεντιαζουμε με τις ωρες.....
If you like Greek, I recommend you visit Arillas in Corfu. It's a quiet village but within easy reach of other places should you want to venture further afield. I go every year. I'm lucky enough to a have a few holidays each year, but Arillas 8s the one place I return to each year. It just makes me so happy. It has many family run taverns, restaurants etc with amazing traditional food. 🇬🇷💙

Good food choices especially in Crete. Love Crete, favourite place is Paleochora which is South West, takes a day to get there from Herkalion - apologies for the spelling, but it's soo worth it. Wish I could go back xx

It really amazes me when people say that greek food it's one of the best and have try only souvlaki,tzatziki,greek salad,mousaka. To all friends out there just pick anything out of the menu and yo will be amazed (except if you have some kind of allergy or intolerance to sth). No offense!
Stuffed Leaf (it's "Sarma" by the way), Moussaka, Cacik, Baklava, Doner, Kebab and many more dishes. All of these belong to Turkish cuisine. I love the Greeks, but it seems wrong to me that they are presented as the inventors of our dishes. Of course they can be inspired, but they have to reveal their core. Even in our country, we serve their salads and appetizers under their name.
Darling, it is called an anti-loan. When your people came to these places, (in which ancient Greek ruins still exist) from the steppes of Mongolia, they adopted the cuisine and made it their own. That's why you're thinking it is yours and that you gave it to us. If you think about it really, I don't think that in the steppes of Mongolia you can grow cucumber for "cacik", neither aubergines/eggplants for moussaka or vines for sarma. Please be sensible.

You may have adopted the Turkish cuisine that developed during and after the Seljuk period while living with us. If you remember, many people in the Balkans, who thought that our bread was theirs, lived on our land like you.You would think that putting "ki" at the end of dishes such as "cacık", "baklava" and "sarma" and the Turkish origin of these words shows a lot of things.
