Even tho Enzo himself said the Jag E Type was the best looking ever made, one respectfully must disagree and point one in the direction of this gorgeous piece of art
It’s defiantly a car that was probably made can’t deny that..but you know what I’d say my 2013 Prius can get the job done and we don’t want to mess up the climate any more right? This thing seems like a gas guzzler.
This is simply perfection. There isn’t any other word that could describe this masterpiece, just « Perfect ». Ferrari will always be an icon no matter what they come out with these days...
Goosebumps. A few years back I drove a 348 at a race track for a few laps. It was heavy to steer and the clutch was stiff. But that was at low speed. When I opened it up, I couldn't believe the seemingly limitless power and the way it screamed louder and louder behind my head. As the man says, it's sensory overload. The perfection of the ride and roll, with an engine that seems alive. Painfully beautiful.
My dad owned one when I was a teenager. He let me drive it on the way back from L.A. on I 5 for an hour. Unforgettable. It was a perfect car. Almost too beautiful for words.
The camera work DOES do the car justice, I agree. But if you want to see proper SWB action, look for Goodwood Revival where these cars are still raced today, against othres cars of the same era. Now THAT is classic action, in the heat of battle and they do it every year.
This is exactly why seeing machines that are supposed to be in motion, but are instead found lifeless and static, inside of a garage, barn or a museum is so heartbreaking.
Whenever I see an automotive enthusiast make a video of their opportunity to drive a 250 SWB, each one gets that otherworldly glaze of giddiness as they row through the gears on a twisty road. These cars could be considered drugs.
Believe it or not. Someday in the not too far future this will be one of the first cars that will be produced new!! A classic is a classic for this reason. You can´t make it better. And in all times people will have it. Egg:Same with the Gullwing and the BMW 507
Thanks for the video of a fabulous Ferrari icon. Was looking forward to hearing the musical sound of the V12 engine climb through the revs, but the overlayed music in the video spoiled that a bit. I don’t mind a bit of filler music in performance car videos, but not during the moments where the beautiful sounding engine should take precedence over any introduced background sound. Just my thoughts, others might prefer to hear the added background music…
I know right! The e-type looks a little frumpy against the Ferraris of the day. I reckon Enzo was just trying to keep the Italian coach builders on their toes. 😎
@@matthijsgerretse3217 that's a very plausible scenario. I loved how Enzo used to say you pay for the engine and get the body for free! The equivalent of saying "we'll throw in a Mona Lisa for free"?! Sublime art on wheels those Ferraris!
The E-type is faster, has disc brakes and independent suspension. And it was a third of the price. The E-type's biggest problem is the volume of cars made. It would be a million dollar car it it was rare... Anyway back to the point. It is an urban myth that Enzo said the E-type was the most beautiful car ever made. What Enzo said was that the only thing wrong with the E-type was that it did not have a prancing horse on it. This is according to Norman Devis who was present at the time. But as Norman later said. Enzo didn't speak english and Norman didn't speak Italian, so who really know what the old man really said.....
280 hp doesn’t seem so much today, but was out of this world in a road car in the early sixties. And not least, it weighed only around 960 kg. Nothing compensates weight.
Yes but these are mechanically and carburator aspired produced horsepower - thats a different and more stronger power than any computer controlled injection horsepower.
A Ferrari 250 GT SWB is about 7 million although if that one was a actual historical racer then I should imagine 30 million would be about the right price, nice to see someone actually using it for what it’s designed for.
Great photography, good presenter, but for the love of God, you need to fade the music down so we can hear the car. This is a complaint I've read over and over on high quality car videos. Petrolicious gets this. There are also a couple of times where it sounds like more than one audio clip of the engine is playing. But keep making videos, I enjoyed this.
Actually it is "grigio conchiglia" which means gray seashell, but the guy mispronounced the Italian word which should sounds, more or less, like "conkeelia"
Today's cars are: 1) Faster 2) MUCH safer 3) million times more fuel efficient 4) much more ergonomic 5) better produced 6) More stable on the road and nimble around corners I don't know what you're talking about, but there is a big progress made in automotive world. Probably all you're talking about it how the car looks. And yes, it is much easier to make a beautiful car like this Ferrari here when you don't have million regulations and safety restrictions to follow. Don't compare apples to oranges.

My favourite classic for sure
The Most BEAUTIFUL car I have ever seen.
Yep, no other car is as good looking as this.

Marc Gianandrea why he sold it??? 😱😱
Gorgeous…this and the GtO are on another level…pieces of art.
The best video I've ever seen of an SWB in action; I wish it had been twice as long.

There's nothing like pure passion, the Ferrari 250 GT SWB, beauty, design, prestige, Scuderia Ferrari.
This car is SUPREME. Such an elegant, classic, pure-bred car.
What an iconic car. These images take my breath away. Thanks.
This Is For me the best street car ever
Ahh, when cars were built with passion and prestige, what a car.
That was so well done, and well spoken. "Imagine being able to step into a painting..." Brilliant!
Thank you for the beauty...
The essence of Ferrari. Just beautifully perfect. Love it!

Wonderful review of one of the best Ferrari's ever made!
The lizard running home scared shitless at 3:38 is priceless....
This is pure class and style. Not a little or some or lots, PURE.
This car is a masterpiece. The design is outrageous, to me this is better looking than a 250 GTO. A really good reason to get rich
All in this video is perfect...music, filming...
What at beautiful Masterpiece...❤❤❤❤❤
I had a ride in one of these back in 1988. What a car!!!
Well, I have to admit, I was sceptical about his eulogising until I saw him drive the car. It is indeed three dimensional art.
REALLY
If I could have any Ferrari it would be this would , in tour de France blue , simply amazing classic ,those curves are just something to behold
A car that i would never get😢 but a dream car forever❤
Ferrari has built the most beautiful cars, no doubt !
Colore stupendo, interni meravigliosi, auto essenza della bellezza
Wonderful dream machine. Ferrari will always be the pinnacle of beauty and excellence.
It is so georgeous .....i can look and admire it like forever
ABSOLUTELY
Priceless piece of Art!!!
I love that the colour on the certificate says Giallo (yellow) but the actual car is painted gun metal grey. So much for authenticity.
That is the greatest and most accurate description of the Ferrari 250 SWB that I’ve ever heard!!!

Wow, cool... Steve Earle owned this car! Wonder how many trips it made down Copperhead Road??

The Angeles Crest in a 250 SWB - heaven. Odd that Enzo wept when he saw an E-Type.
I know right! The e-type looks a little frumpy against the Ferraris of the day. I reckon Enzo was just trying to keep the Italian coach builders on their toes. 😎
I bet some journalist asked Enzo; "What car, that isn't a Ferrari, do you consider to be the most beautiful?" and he took the answer out of context.
