Tee, hee. THis place supplied a LOT of Portland Cement. With it's permanent closure, these clowns ensured that the cost of cemet in the area with increase.

Just like closing the Davenport Plant on 2010, You had a place where you could impose environmental controls. Now it's closed and all the cement will come from China where there are NO environmental controls.....Now watch them make using concrete mandatory for all construction.......

Triple the cost of any construction using concrete. In other words, no new construction,

Not in my backyard! The asfault plant near me got shut down because they are building million dollar homes next to the land. Our county no longer has a plant but the lower income communities have plenty.

Democrats fined them out of existence.
Nothing wrong with human sewage in the streets... No environmental problems there.

Good job dummies! Close the rare business that actually produce a physical product in Santa Clara County. Well replace it with more service sector jobs

This sounds like the government has forced them out, I bet if a favorable person buys the plant it will reopen!!!!!

Expect prices to go up more. That is the only thing politician know how to do. We need a different set in charge.

So the cost of concrete, needed for all construction projects, goes up and employees lose their jobs. A true loss for everyone!

California without cement? Nice! Sell off the equipment to the Chinese.

Who told you that? CA still has 8 other cement plants, none surrounding an urban area like this one does.

Pretty sure 8 other cement plants exist in CA. Transportation from either north of Redding or south of Bakersfield to the Bay Area will add somewhat to local cost of cement. Which is one component in concrete. How much will local concrete prices increase? Maybe a bit, but that plant which was out in the sticks when it began, is now in Silicon Valley so its days had been numbered for some time.

I bet it will become a rails to trails so you can e-bike up there when it ultimately gets developed. No doubt there will be lots of park land.
