- Hi Guys, welcome back to the channel, today we’ve got a rather expensive repair on the go due to the Adblue tank failing and not delivery enough pressure, I followed a test plan last week to diagnose a faulty tank and also a blocked Adblue injector.
Hope you find this video useful and thanks for watching.

I retired 18 months ago from Citroen dealership, there was an extended warranty on the pump/tank.fitted loads of tanks to all models .fitted four tanks to one vehicle due to not being made right(bad batch.)always tried to get them under warranty,Citroen always paid up as long as I crossed the tees etc.
That’s interesting to know, such a terrible system though really
worth using adblue direct from the pump like diesel as its not exposed to sunlight / stored incorrectly so wont crystallise, will help prevent ad blue faults
100% I think I may have mentioned this in the previous weeks vlog
Government monopolising on selling piss! who else could make loads of money like that?
Amazing isn’t it😂😂
smashing work mate, I am glad my Peugeot partner just missed the boat with ad blue 😂
Nice one pal 🫡yeah I think mine would mysteriously disappear if it did have adblue 😂
I have a 10 Toyota 2.0 diesel and boy what a car.Have it 10 years and 100,000 miles and no serious problems(touch wood).
A great advertisement for made in the UK.
Hoping to get another 6 years out of it with regular maintenance every 5,000 miles. No adblue TG😂.
That thing will go to the moon and back if looked after as you are 💪🏻
Adblue is the biggest bend over con going. One example: 07 Volvo truck. Adblue pump packed up and wasn't replaced straight away because it was a fortune. This was pre everything programmed to go into limp mode unlike now! 7 months not working truck running great. Adblue tank still full from last fill up and now it's looking all white and crystallised round neck, cap and what's inside looking a bit cruddy! Went for an mot at a Ministry test centre. Guy commented that adblue gauge showed full which made a change. He put the emissions probe in top of stack pipe and revved it up like normal high rpm. I said what was that like? He said readings are always low with adblue vehicles and this truck is no exception but you have to go through the motions?! It's all a load of bollox and just a con. Vehicles after that are programmed and designed to go into limp mode for anything. So you have no choice but to get it looked at and repaired and manufacturers charge fortunes knowing your vehicle is useless without the bits!!!
Yeah makes you wonder doesn’t it
Great video Kirby 👍 👍
Thank you 🤝
Mine had this fault. I chucked the injector in the ultrasonic cleaner and some anti crystal solution in the tank been fine for 2 years now.
Love a fix like this 👍🏼💪🏻
Map it out and remove iners bof dpf job done 😊
You know it
Was that 16L of clear liquid you poured away ? Is that Adblue ? …why’s it called Adblue ? BTW baz Meredith says you deserve a medal 🥇 working outside in all weathers and crawling around on the floor
Yeah that was the Adblue, tbh I’m not entirely sure, it’s “proper” name is DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) but I think Blue is “eco friendly” and the main man Baz is spot on 😂
Adblu is trade name ,main ingredience is urea and water, optical strength tester is available.awful system.
Top work, nice one.
Thank you vary much 👍🏼
Could i ask why you didnt change the leaking flexy exhaust as this will be giving improper nox sensor readings? also why not show it running with no faults after repair? great video again though.
Yeah that’s on the list to get done but obviously wanted the main issue resolved first and at £1600 I can’t blame him. Yeah I didn’t finish off the video very well tbh and no outgrow as the company needed to go make deliveries, but yeah it’s all sorted and been running great thanks mate 👍🏼
My car is in the garage for an adblue related fault at the moment, I'm lucky enough that it's covered by warrenty, but when it comes to replace the car I will be not buying anything that uses adblue again
There are “adblue solutions” out there if you was to buy a vehicle with adblue 😉
@@kerbsidemobilemechanic hopefully will not need to research that for a while, got the car back today, seems the pump alone would have cost £550 had it been out of warranty (and this is not for an expensive car)
And that’s cheap for a Adblue pump
That big hole in the exhaust by the clamp will cause pressure problems as most of the adblue will leak out and not do its job,van will then set a pressure fault in the exhaust/dpf/adblue system🤔
I don’t think so no, as once it’s out of the injector there isn’t anything measure adblue pressure, but yeah you’re probably right about the loss of adblue and it technically not doing its job fully
Epic video 🔥🤙🤙🤙
Nice one geeezerrrr🤝🤙
We have an ad blue leak (we assume its a leak) in the drivers footwell under the carpet of our Peogeot partner van - any idea how the ad blue could have got in there please?
That is odd!! Is the filler neck by the passenger front door on that?
@@kerbsidemobilemechanic no its not. Its really weird.
Really strange that one 😂😂
@@kerbsidemobilemechanic if there's no way the ad blue could leak there then I can only assume its an old spillage. We recently had a large barrel of water go over in the back and that must have rehydrated it.
I was going to say must be a spillage but was unsure if it’s history obviously
The vitos have neck next to diesal filler too top up looks like efficient system for AdBlue until it fails Then open the wallet and get the morphine drip ready 😅
Charge what they want for these adblue parts
I can completely agree with you Adblue problems are expensive. My neighbours g/f car had an issue and cost about £2,500 to repair and if memory serves me correct had to go back again because of same issue. I know never to buy a vehicle that requires Adblue
Honestly it’s a dreadful system, and is it any more environmentally friendly considering all the plastic etc
😊nice work
Thank you sir 🫡
Don’t they fail mot if mapped out ? Thanks
I don’t believe they do no
That is why people getting their adblue system mapped out to avoid costly repairs like this
I did offer this solution but he opted for full repair 🤷🏻♂️
dpf will fail to regen if adblue is mapped out
What DPF 👀😂
@@mohitl1697no it doesn’t
Which diagnostic tool you are using?
It’s the Launch ismart tool 601
Avoid AdBlue like the plague unless U don't care about being poor 😢
Adblue “solution” needed 😉
I had my daughters mapped out, £1300 to repair, £150 to map out.
Best option
@@kerbsidemobilemechanic it won’t be long before the insurance companies just write them off because it’s so expensive
Yeah the older the vehicles get with these systems in won’t be economically viable to fix lol
People will be snapping these up, deleting it and selling them on lol
Lol money to be made
So the pump is integrated into the tank and not replaceable just on its own? You have to change the tank as well?
Bloody money pit these adblue!
Yeah, they won’t sell just the pump itself
MAP IT OUT
I did offer but was declined 🤷🏻♂️
job now is just fitting parts no engineering involved and the manufacturers are putting in software to reset new parts being fitted con for the motor trade totally con for the consumer
Nothings built to last either
Do you ever get to work on vehicles without all this emissions control gubbins?
Oh yeah still work on plenty of vehicles without this luckily
I would love you to work on my Morris Minor but I think South Wales is a bit far away.
Just a tad, unless I do a UK tour 😅
First 😂
Love to see it mate 😅🤝
One day you are going to regret not wearing safety glasses working under a vehicle with all that crap dropping off it 😉
Oh I know, you’d have thought I’d learnt my lesson by now 😅
Liking the new credits BTW, looks very professional 👍
Thank you sir, credit to mrs Kerby
