I am so glad I got to drive a truck back in the good old days(70's and 80's) when you could just Drive a Truck. Paper Logs were all we had, no computers, nobody watching you, no cellphones, etc... I was single back then and ran all 48 States and Canada. We actually had fun in those days talking on the CB Radio's, stopping whenever we wanted to and where we wanted to. Only had to check in once a day in the morning to let dispatch know "roughly" where we were and if we were going to be on time at destination. My truck was not governed at all and had everything I needed for comfort. That Old 359 Pete longnose was a great ride.

Although he did nothing wrong, technically, my OCD had me going nuts when he hooked to the trailer. For me, its always check the 5th wheel, glad hands/lights, release trailer brakes and then roll up the dollies.
Glad you are back and congrats on the house! I am on the fence about Crete and wondered if you could help. I am a former Werner driver that did SE dedicated home weekly. The same type of run for Crete only pays about .54/mile. The OTRs start at .60/mile. I have two years experience but, that doesn't count for much at Crete. Can you negotiate with them or, is it a take it or leave it deal? Having only done home weekly, I don't know how I would do going 21 days out from the beginning?
Hi there! That’s a good question. Kevin started at 62cpm for the 21 days. He did not negotiate as we thought it was set. He only had one year experience. I would say why not try. Maybe that second year experience could get you more. And yes, from 1 to 3 weeks is a big jump. And since you get 1 day for every six out Kevin likes to do minimum 24 days out to then get 4 days home. That is a tough call in your part. Sorry we don’t have a better answer for you. Let us know if you have other questions.
@@TheJoyofTrucking I think it’s different from company to company. The Company I drive for uses the Zonar ELD.Once I pickup a load I submit a Loaded call. Then I have to go into the Zonar ELD & manually update the Shipping info.A lot of guys have been gettin stopped @ the scales in California,Oregon,Washington & Arizona & have been getting tickets 🎟️ because their shipping info hasn’t been updated for the load they are under.
Hi there! Thank you so much! 🥰 If you are OTR Crete will send you all over the place. But you can call recruiting to see if they have any specific dedicated accounts if that’s what you are looking for. For some reason the spotted lantern flies are not around in great numbers this year. I have seen any thus year. Last year in August and September the critters where heavy in PA and MD. My guess is the hard freeze we had in that area around Christmas time might have destroyed egg masses. The temperature was done in the single digits for several days.
Awww….very sweet. What location on the truck? Not sure that’s allowed on a company truck. Not even sure if I’m the love of his life…might be Ramblin’ Rose, the KW. 😆😆😆😆
@TheJoyofTrucking I'm glad to hear that. As someone that is from and still lives in Southern Ontario, it makes me happy to hear that Americans enjoy being here. I heard him mention Sudbury but that's technically Northern Ontario, the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and such is Southern Ontario. Anything North of Barrie is Northern. I deliver for the largest grocery retail in Canada (Loblaw) and I was just in the Sudbury area a couple weeks ago. It's absolutely beautiful up there. Sudbury is also home to Canada's version of the IRS, so you should have burned it down before you left. Lol. I'm glad you had fun. Hope to meet you some day.
Not sure. That’s been a while. Just go over your learning material from school and Google it and watch a few videos. That should help. You’ll do great! With your question you already demonstrated that you are conscientious and have a drive toward excellence!
You can take your home time. You can take extra unpaid days. You get one week paid vacation after your first year. And the paid vacation time increases over time (don’t recall when or how much). Communication is key. So far never a problem except last Christmas. We didn’t know that for Christmas you have to ask in advance because they only allow a certain percentage of drivers to take time off at that time.
I forgot what my house looks like. I will be quitting the industry soon and I can not wait. I am done with everyone getting worse on the road and never being "home". I am done with driving altogether. I am going to work on living in nature away from people. People are so annoying. I am tired of all the trucks going their max speed through construction. I am tired of trucks making all of us look bad by cutting off vehicles in the left lane just to pass another truck that is governed one mile an hour less. I am tired of trucks going forty miles an hour through the truck stop. I am tired of four wheelers getting away with driving fifty miles over the speed limit and cutting me off right before the exit ramp just to wait at a traffic light. I am dick of living around these nasty people throwing their own feces and pee on the concrete. Ten years and I had enough. I am ready to live like a normal person. People do not realize that I threw away a normal life just to haul their crap. I am ready to be with my family.
Hey Curtis! I think that’s a good idea!!! You’re not enjoying it anymore. Life’s too short to waste time on something that makes you miserable. Sounds like your cup runneth over and it’s time to find something else. Especially joy and peace of mind. 🤗
Stop bragging on your new Tractor. You probably got it because of your YT page! Crete gave you a Kenworth because in one of your videos you were drooling over the KW's in the Crete lot.

Although he did nothing wrong, technically, my OCD had me going nuts when he hooked to the trailer. For me, its always check the 5th wheel, glad hands/lights, release trailer brakes and then roll up the dollies.
That’s a good order too. 👍 Kevin is following the way he was taught at Phoenix Truck Driving Institute.
You should always negotiate pay with a company no matter what.
Well off
Off to see the wizard…
When you get to Syracuse get a Uber and go to little Italy on North Salina st. Best Italian food in New York State.
👍👍👍😆
Kevin when you pick up a load do you update your shipping info on your ELD?BOL,Trailer#,Trailer license plate#,Shippers name etc.?
Yes! You send a preformed message called ‘loaded call’ where you fill in the blanks with info plus your ETA. 👍
At Crete, our Peoplenet automatically changes trip numbers and trailer numbers. I always look to make sure it is done.
@@randyalt370 That’s way cool 😎.I have 2 weeks to go here @ Knight transportation & I’ll have 1 year u see my belt with the same company.
@@Moondoggy1970 Excellent!!! Congratulations! Do you plan on staying with them?
Love you guys beautiful couple ❤️. I am thinking on coming to crete. I will like to know what lanes they have am from florida
Hi there! Thank you so much! 🥰 If you are OTR Crete will send you all over the place. But you can call recruiting to see if they have any specific dedicated accounts if that’s what you are looking for. Kevin has driven to/through all lower 48 except Vermont and North Dakota in his 17 months with Crete. Looking at your handle…are you from the Caribbean? We lived in the VI 20 years. 🇻🇮
@@TheJoyofTrucking yeah I am Dominican 🇩🇴and been in florida for 30 years now. Also saw the beautiful house that you bought congratulations 🎈🍾🎉🎊 definitely looking forward to crete and will use your driver code. Thx again and enjoy your home in florida 🙏🙏
What the heck is a lantern fly? Do they prefer trailers for a special reason?
That’s good news!!!
An invasive species that has it in for many valuable crop plants, especially grape vibes! 🍷😳
@@TheJoyofTrucking not only do I have to do a pretrip.. Gotta tye up my hair too.. Thanks for the lookout.
@@sunnygabriel7147 😃👍🤩
Wait till you get the new peoplenet
😳😳😳
It should include your wife's name on the back of the and on the top of it put a sign that says the love of my life
Awww….very sweet. What location on the truck? Not sure that’s allowed on a company truck. Not even sure if I’m the love of his life…might be Ramblin’ Rose, the KW. 😆😆😆😆
Where did you go in Canada and how'd you like it?
All over southern Ontario. Yes! We love it! Seeing family and friends and Canada brings us a lot of joy!!!
Quick question about Werner orientation. Do they spend much time on pretrip. I got my cdl in February. Feeling a bit rusty. Thanks!
They give you a cheat sheet it’s orientation not hard
Not sure. That’s been a while. Just go over your learning material from school and Google it and watch a few videos. That should help. You’ll do great! With your question you already demonstrated that you are conscientious and have a drive toward excellence!
Does create pull any B tains 2 tailers?
Crete does not do doubles.
Tanya did you ever wanted tp get your owm cld class 8 licence?
No!
Nope. I have other talents and interests. Like helping and entertaining people with our RUclips channel. 🥳
Make longer videos
😆😆😆👍They vary. But, yes. Some are and will be. Thanks for the roundabout compliment. 😆😆😆
Truck looks beautiful….trailer not so much 🤔😝☝️🥵💪….ahh it’s not too bad I guess 🤣
😆😆😆Hope you heard the shout out to you Kirk!!!! 😆😁🤩🥰
Hi.. so how many weeks do you have weekations ?
You can take your home time. You can take extra unpaid days. You get one week paid vacation after your first year. And the paid vacation time increases over time (don’t recall when or how much). Communication is key. So far never a problem except last Christmas. We didn’t know that for Christmas you have to ask in advance because they only allow a certain percentage of drivers to take time off at that time.
Back on the road again...Willie Nelson
👍👍🤩
Yeh we black on the road again
👍👍👍😆🤩
Dang

Man-oh-man!!! No matter when I put out a video…you are good!!!!! 😆😆😆😆
I am at the moment I am off of work with a stomach virus so i am waiting for a hospital appointment 😢
@@iandrew6347 Oh no! Hope you get the appointment and full recovery very quickly! 💐
Stop bragging on your new Tractor. You probably got it because of your YT page! Crete gave you a Kenworth because in one of your videos you were drooling over the KW's in the Crete lot.
😆😆😆We’ve been drooling over KW’s in more than one video. And he told them from the beginning he wanted a KW. They didn’t have any available. When we saw that they were getting a lot of new ones in Kevin asked very nicely. They made it happen.
