Time for some good vocal rest now Alex. You killed it. Period. This song and the aggressive way its sung was always going to cause a vocal injury or strain at some point
How many shows a night?
@@WarrenHolly I'm not entirely sure. I know Alex performed some days at least twice
@WarrenHolly most Broadway shows do at least one performance daily, two on Sundays (sometimes two on Saturdays)

Good singer. Her voice definitely sounds stressed. Broadway is tough.
You can hear Alex emotions getting the best of them, especially towards the end. Still a great performance a. Saw it 6 times and Alex never disappointed 😊

issit possible for these kinda gospel sounds to last in broadway? dont get me wrong it sounds absolutely tremendous but the eight shows a week will be tough if you sang like this every night no?

There's Jennifer Holliday, Nell Carter, Melba Moore, Ethel Merman, Patti LuPone, Lillias White, and others who managed eight shows just fine. Then, some artists struggle for various reasons, whether technique, the demands of the role, or their voice not suited for that much singing. Every voice is different.

Her voice sounds a little strained here. I guess that happens when theyre singing this song LIVE everyday. Cant wait to see her on the big screen 🎥 !
I think they were out with vocal issues for a while so that’s probably why!
