Evie was the true villain of the film. I notice young men and women (teenagers) like her all the damn time, who come from bad backgrounds and take advantage of an innocent and unknowing friend (and sometimes their families). My advice to any coming of age teenager who comes across someone like her? Keep your distance, especially if your intuition tells you something that you know is true but you don't want to believe. These friends will take you down with them in a heartbeat. Peer pressure and the desire to fit in are the ultimate forms of deadly drugs when we are young.
Blaming a teenager when they’re still a kid?? Look at the shitty parenting they’ve had and the abuse and neglect by those who were supposed to take care of them. The adults are just allowing the cycle to be repeated.
@@nayaabshah1155 Evie is to blame, though. Remember: she two-sided the situation when she tried to get Melanie to see the she was being abused only to switch up and say that Tracy and Melanie were dangerous to her as a person.
@@nayaabshah1155 agreed, but Melanie was a distressed mother who got taken advantage of and who was left to fend for herself and her own family after her husband up and left. Evie took advantage of that and most people do.
I was thinking of this movie a while ago and it reminded me of myself. Having gone to therapy, I said I'll know something is wrong with somebody but I'll give them a chance anyway. The therapist replied, it is because when I see people I see the best in them. It makes me feel good that when I look at most people and I see the best in them. But realizing after being hurt and getting traumatized, you can still see good in people and empathize what's going on with them but you can't deal with everybody. Some people you need to stay away from. And that's no matter what and especially a young age.
