Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

You’ve asked before for suggestions or ideas on what you should do in your videos. There are a lot of language learning channels for Spanish on YT, but to me, you are the channel that provides the inspiration. You’re not a native speaker, you don’t live in Spain or Latin America, but your love of the language and dedication have brought you to the mountain top - a place so many of us want to be. Every time I watch one of your videos I’m inspired to keep going. Please do us all a favor and never stop making this kind of content.

Solo continua a escuchar la lengua. Aprender un idioma es oír los sonidos del idioma. Recuerda como aprendiste el inglés, lo escuchaste todo el día todos los días. No entendiste la mayoría de la palabras que oíste pero te acordarías las palabras y eventualmente aprenderias los significados de las palabras.

When I see someone American speak Spanish with such fluency and I still struggle as a child of Puerto Rican parents I wonder how I can improve. Any tips would be appreciated!
Ponte a cantar cuando escuches música en español bro, el cerebro se acostumbra a emular entonaciones y acentos. Lo mismo dice Nate y creo que es la clave
@@ReverbCanvas Bueno, mucho de lo que yo he aprendido lo aprendí a través de la música y las telenovelas (me crié con Jerry Rivera, La India, Mark Anthony, Luis Fonsi, y el álbum Más Flow 2, para nombrar algunos). Pero como yo escucho música de diferentes países y veo muchos programas de diferentes países, parece qué tengo una combinación de acentos encima del acento gringo. No sé cómo explicarlo... Pero hay hispanos que me han dicho que no pueden "ubicar" mi acento. Ahora mismo mis obsesiones son Nathy Peluso y su hermana Sofía Gabanna, Rosalia, y Bad Bunny. Creo que necesito mudarme a PR o algo, para que se me pegue el acento Boricua! No sé. Anyway, muchísimas gracias por el consejo!
@@roshii2789 Broooo lo mismo me pasa con el inglés jajaja no tengo idea de cómo suene mi acento desde la perspectiva de un nativo angloparlante. Yo aprendí desde el kinder, pero realmente nunca lo practiqué hablado; hasta que, en primaria, mi papá me pagó unas clases con un maestro de Inglaterra y creo que es el acento que más predomina en mi habla.
Y definitivamente el acento boricua es buenísimo, trae muchísimo flow jaja
@@ReverbCanvas oh guau que interesante!! Y muchas gracias por apreciar el acento Boricua 🥺 Mucha gente dice que hablan mal. Pero no es ni bueno ni malo... Solo es. Es un dialecto... Como se desarolló el idioma naturalmente. Creo que el acento viene de las Islas Canarias pero con influencias de Taíno, Español, e Inglés, con pronunciaciones Africanas. Estamos en una posición única, siendo parte de los estados unidos así que usamos muchas palabras Spanglish. Pero la gente se burla de los puertorriqueños y no tratan de entender porque hablan así. Dicen que decir "puelta" en vez de "puerta" está mal dicho. Pero para mí, si los hispanohablantes originales (los españoles) dicen coraTHON (corazón) pero tú dices coraSON, entonces eso también está mal dicho. Me entiendes? Anyway, muchas gracias ❤️
