Speak Now is a rock album cosplaying as a country album, it’s a couple straight ahead country tracks that I could see you not vibing with but overall I could see it being totally up your alley
Taylors genre is taylor 😅 This performance is GOLD! One of my favourites from taylor ever. Speak now taylor gives teater kid in the best way and it will be my era forever💜 She did a lot of vocal training for this tour and i think it shows. And she keeps getting better and better! Also her tours are this: -Fearless tour -speak now tour -red tour -1989 tour -reputation tour -eras tour She was suppost to do loverfest but the pandemic canceled it
The pandemic didn't like her changing the pattern of the tour names (album + tour), and Eras got a pass only because it still had Tour in the end - and was in fact for a lot of different eras.
Hayley Williams of Paramore is Taylor’s oldest music industry friend. She even performed with her some on this tour and more recently Paramore opened for the European leg of the Eras Tour. Also, the Speak Now album is completely self written by Taylor, both music and lyrics every single song. She wrote these songs while on the Fearless Tour. Speak Now and and the following album, Red, both are still from her country days but have strong rock vibes.
One of the things I love about this woman is her innate theater kid energy 😂 Even on her first headlining tour, you can see the love for the theatrics. Her projection-ready stage, the rip away costume changes, down to the artificial rain finale. That was such a strong way to start your headlining tour career and her tours only got better, bigger, and more dramatic. I absolutely adore that aspect of her live shows.
I darn near cried tears of joy watching how much you enjoyed this!!! "Haunted" is my favorite Taylor song AND my favorite Taylor performance...I mean, how could it not be with the strings, the bells, the guitars, the drums, the build, the drama, the emotion, the intensity....? This song is so underrated. Also, fun fact: Taylor Swift and Amy Lee of Evanescence share the same birthday on December 13th. I've always thought of Taylor as a light fairy and Amy as a dark fairy, and they're both amazing in the way they serve up emotion!!!
I barely caught it, but you saying “she’ll be throwing up later” at 9:04 about the person spinning from the ceiling had me DYING!! I cracked up. It was so random, and just quietly thrown out there. 😂😂
Dear John is great from this same tour. Lots of emotion. Long Live is great too. Speak Now is Taylor's 3rd album. She got so much praise for her writing skills on her first two albums that, of course a few critics started to question how a 15 year old could write about things she hadn't experienced and that the co-writers must have done most of the work. The co-writers came out and said that wasn't true. Taylor gets very angry when she is underestimated. Right after that she said okay I will write my next album completely by myself. Later a critic said she was good on a 6 string acoustic guitar but couldn't play a 12 string one. Almost every artist uses a 6 string. Taylor didn't know how and had never tried to use one. Once again she was being put down even though everyone else uses a 6 string. She immediately bought a 12 string and taught herself to play it. She practiced almost non stop until she could prove them wrong. When Taylor started out there weren't many very young artists writing music and playing instruments. She became a younger sister to a lot of the male artists. She opened for George Strait, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill and several other Country artists who were at the height of their careers.
@@ameliadavis1979 🙌 and she plays banjo and taught herself to play a ukulele during a flight on a tour. It’s in the Lover diaries. It must’ve been Fearless tour because she plays ukulele on Speak Now tour. Anyway, talent coming out of her pores!
Don’t forget when they put down her dancing ability and after taking some time to poke fun at herself for it in Shake it Off, she then took dancing lessons. Now she grooves with her dancers on stage like the queen she is. Tell Taylor she can’t do something, and she will prove your dumb *ss wrong.
Grandma found her when you did recently. Can't believe how much I've missed! Total actor!!!! One day, she will direct movies and Broadway shows, I'm sure. She can't help it. The genius just pours out of her. Sooo impressive!

Some tour history. After her 2006 debut, she did a 6 month radio tour (show up with a guitar and a box of homemade cookies -- they all loved her for that!) she opened for several of the top artists in country. Her albums drop in the fall; she started her tours in the spring. She wanted to do a spectacle show right from the start; her first headlining tour was 2009's Fearless Tour (she made a documentary called "The Road To Fearless" about her career and the tour). Love Story and You Belong With Me are from the Fearless album. 2009 Tour lasted about a year and a half; small venues of 5 to 10 thousand. That is also the year a) First Grammy AOTY (Fearless), first VMA (You Belong ...), first film role (Valentine's Day) TV role (on CSI), film cameo as herself (Hannah Montana the Movie) --- and first Kanye Incident. 😮Also, her dating life got the gossips all excited when she moved on from Joe Jonas (early 2008) to Taylor Lautner (also in 2009's Valentine's Day) and for a while to John Mayer. By the time the Speak Now Tour started, she moved from Conor Kennedy to Jake Gyllenhaal;, and wrote ATW in rehearsals for this tour, two years before releasing it. {Don't tell me if there was somebody I missed.}
So speak now is Taylor's third album and is more like a rock punk/ country album, I think you would like so many of the songs in there but not all of them since it still has country roots. Personally I think is one of her best albums. This album came after fearless and even thou you can see some resemblance is another vibe completely. Also the Taylor's version of speak now is simply wayyy to good and the speak now tour is INSANE, is so theatrical
here’s a timeline of her tours/albums cause she’s been touring for a while! 2006: her debut album was released (she was 16 when it released but 12-15 when she wrote it. she didn’t tour for this one but she was an opener for other country artists) fearless: released in 2008 (18 when it released and i believe 15-17 when she wrote it but there might’ve been some songs she wrote earlier on. this was her first headlining tour ever in 2009-2010(19-20) speak now: released in 2010 (20 when it released and 18-20 when she wrote it. this whole album is completely self written to prove the critics wrong when they were saying she didn’t write her own songs. she went on tour for this album in 2011-2012 (21-22) red: released in 2012 (22 when it released and 20-22 when writing it). she toured for this album in 2013-2014 (23-24) end of her country/pop country albums 1989: her first pop album. released in 2014 (24 when it was released and i believe 23-24 when writing it) she toured for it in 2015 (25) reputation: released in 2017 (27 when it released and i think 25-27 when writing it) she toured in 2018 (28) lover: released in 2019 (29 when released and 28-29 when writing it). there was supposed to be a tour called “loverfest” in 2020 but the pandemic happened so it had to be canceled folklore&evermore: both released in 2020 (30) and written in 2020 (30). there was no tour for either album midnights: released in 2022 (32) and was written between 2021-2022 (31-32). there’s no tour for just the album eras tour: first time back on tour since reputation tour in 2018. 2023-2024 (will be ending this december). all of her albums are on the set list except for her debut album ttpd: released in 2024 (34) and written in 2022-2023 (32-33) and it’s now included in the eras tour set list
Speak Now is far too underrated. It was my first Taylor concert and I was in awe. I remember her talking about helping to design the sets, the acoustic session with the light up tree, all the pyro during Dear John, and her flying high to every section of the crowd on a balcony during Love Story. Now, I've been to all her shows through Eras and despite her always getting better, all of her performances have always been (and still are) epic. In person, Taylor just never disappoints. Never.

“Country Taylor” is mainly the first 2 albums from when she was 16-18 yrs old, of her now 11 album discography. Speak Now is technically labeled as country, but it’s not. Some of it is, some of it isn’t. And yes, she’s always been a drama/theatre girl! 🎭(From another Jamie 🫶)
From what I remember, after Fearless, Taylor got vocal training for Speak Now and she has only gotten better and better at everything. Her melodies, her lyrics, performances have always been there. You can tell even from the debut single, her early days, her writing was real good, pulling you in with story telling from the start to finish. She just gets better
This is where all of us Swemos fell in love with Taylor, and Speak Now is commonly referred to as the Swemo album (Emo Swifties). TTPD is the new Swemo album 🤍
Dear John live from this tour is amazing too… it’s a must watch. Seeing how young she looks is jarring to know she is singing about a 30+ year old man.
Love your reaction! I think you’ll find she’s so diverse on all of her albums. So even though there are the “shake it offs” on every album, but there are amazing songs as well.
This is one of my top favourite performances by her! Haunted is such a good song too and Taylor's Version with her matured voice is beautiful! Speak Now is like a punk rock album with a few country-pop songs. Haunted is also rumoured to have been written about Twilight New Moon 😂
Taylor swift singing RED in Paris . Its acoustic and she sounds really good . I've recommended this before because its such a good performce . Love your channel like alyways keep up the good work.
It’s definitely worth checking out all of Taylor’s albums, regardless of what your music preference is. She’s such a versatile singer that there is usually a few songs in every album that someone can vibe with, even if the whole album doesn’t hit for them. Even her country songs have pop and rock elements to them
I took my daughter to this concert at Gillette Stadium and it was epic! She has definitely mastered her craft! She’s all over genres and we love it! Another artist that saw her potential in early years said only she could unite the world and he’s right!
She annunciates her words because she wants you to hear the story and the message. She doesn’t need to memorize lyrics. She wrote them about moments in her life that are impactful and kind of unforgettable
Wow. I have wanted you to react to this forever. Specifically I think I thought of this one after you listened to her rock version of We Are Never Getting Back Together (1989 Live Tour) Shame on me for not beating Jamie to it. She’s carrying the load here. Anyway, you didn’t disappoint. Thanks. ❤
Innocent is an interesting track to check out from this album. She wrote it I response to Kanye’s VMA interruption. It should be noted that she was very forgiving the first time…it makes reputation hit harder for me.
It’s hard, her first album i would say is the most pure country but everything after that is a mix of pop country pop rock. I honestly think you’ll love speak now. I’m so excited for that album reaction 🙌🏻
Taylor defies simple genre categorization. The Speak Now tour was 🔥 - Taylor’s inner theater kid leapt out and it was epic. TBH, I think you might even like the live performance of “Mean” if you watch it. Very country, but I know people who don’t usually vibe with country who still like that song. Even if you don’t like “Mean” I think you’ll vibe with most of Speak Now. The whole album’s 💯 self-written because Taylor got tired of naysayers questioning whether she was carrying her weight in writing sessions as a teenager.
Taylor Swift Tour’s Album #2 - Fearless Tour Film: Journey to Fearless Album #3 - Speak Now Tour Film: Speak Now World Tour Album #4 - Red Tour Film: no official film or DVD, but you can look up performances on RUclips from the Red tour Album #5 - 1989 Tour Film: The 1989 World Tour Album #6 - Reputation Tour Film: Reputation Stadium Tour Album #7 - Lover Tour Film: “Live from Paris” Not a tour as Lover festival was canceled due to Covid, but there is the film of Taylor performing the album Album #8 - Folklore Tour Film(Disney): not a tour, but a film, titled “The Long Pond Studio Sessions”
Taylor was definitely influenced by the emo bands of the 2000s with Speak Now. Hayley Williams from Paramore is one of her good friends and they hung out a lot around the time when she wrote this album. When she did the vault tracks with Speak Now TV she did a song with Hayley and Fall Out Boy. I think across all of her discography you can find hints of so many genres and she was a theatre kid so loves drama and storytelling in music like that while pulling sound from everywhere. I think that's why she has such a diverse fanbase as well. I was a theatre kid and Taylor has been my favourite since I was 14/15. My sister is a recent swiftie but she loved RnB and Rap when we were teenagers. She thought Taylor must be lame cos I loved her but she got there in the end 😂
Show her the list of acoustic cover songs and guest artists from the Speak Now tour (wikipedia page has a full list). It isn't short. Taylor's attitude to music is, if it sounds good, it is good. Rap, rock, whatever she was in the mood for.
While Speak Now was still in her early years, by then Taylor had really had a lot of professional growth. She was always very professional and soaked up all the information she could about the music industry, production, etc. Everything. She'd also started spreading her wings and people then started complaining that she wasn't country enough. So, you're right. Artists shouldn't be pigeon holed into one category or another. Especially one like Taylor.
Speak Now has become one of my favs, the entire show is on FIRE 🔥debute is the only one I'm still trying to appreciate, but think when her version's released I'll like it better

Wow. I have wanted you to react to this forever. Specifically I think I thought of this one after you listened to her rock version of We Are Never Getting Back Together (1989 Live Tour) Shame on me for not beating Jamie to it. She’s carrying the load here. Anyway, you didn’t disappoint. Thanks. ❤
I've been waiting for this reaction 😍😍😍
Taylor’s tour productions/staging have been top tier since day 1
Innocent is an interesting track to check out from this album. She wrote it I response to Kanye’s VMA interruption. It should be noted that she was very forgiving the first time…it makes reputation hit harder for me.
Taylor is her own genre at this point
This tour is amazing and some other great performances from it, are Dear John, Enchanted and Speak now
ooooo i've been waiting for this oneeee!
Such an Epic Performance ❤️
I so vividly remember this performance the bells gave me the same reaction. 🤣🤣😍😍
This is my favourite version of this song
It’s hard, her first album i would say is the most pure country but everything after that is a mix of pop country pop rock. I honestly think you’ll love speak now. I’m so excited for that album reaction 🙌🏻
taylor swift is her own genre
I don't support violence....but the thought of her randomly beating John like a gong is humorous.
I've never seen that!!! I love the song, but I didn't see that tour.
I watch all of your Taylor videos, and I think you'd love enchanted/wildest dreams 1989 tour. It has a great build to a big finish.
You should do haunted x Exile from the eras tour omg she sounds heavenly…
I never would have thought of the evanescence comparison but I totally see it.
4:31 omg I literally laughed OUT LOUD!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You should react to more from the speak now tour
Great reaction ❤
your face at 2:54 and at 5:35 and 9:51 was all of us back in 2011!!!
Us Swifties are a cult, and our leader is a theater kid!
When is the speak now full album reaction ? Can't wait💜💜💜💜
Your reaction was epic.

Because Taylor is so popular people are saying she's overrated, That's far from the truth, They just assume they are not going to like her.
she has 3 tours before 1989: fearless, Speak Now, RED
I love Speak Now
Speak Now has become one of my favs, the entire show is on FIRE 🔥debute is the only one I'm still trying to appreciate, but think when her version's released I'll like it better
YES! YEA! Why...? She's so amazing. Theatrical 😊and so so much more.
I'm dying for her to do a rock album!!
We all are
Speak Now tour is epic from start to finish. Almost like a broadway play. Have a Swift day.
Speak Now really is THAT girl. Sooooo good.
Most award shows called for it.
Speak Now TV should be the next full album reaction
Haunted is my favorite from speak now!
