On Moto Control channel you will find videos about motorcycles, motorcycle riding techniques, tips & tricks and online motorcycle training for beginner and advanced riders!
A little info about me. My name is Andrei Bodrov, originally I'm from Moscow, Russia, and now I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Back in Moscow I was a motorcycle instructor and creator of Moto Control Beginner & Advanced motorcycle rider courses, which quickly became the most popular courses in Moscow (well, at least the advanced one😁). My advanced training course makes emphasis on slow speed riding techniques at first (such as good clutch and throttle control, proper riding posture, proper use of vision, etc.), then proceeds to more advanced techniques (such as aggressive braking, trail braking, maximal lean angle). The course incorporates a lot of exercises from DOSAF slow speed riding (similar to police rodeo like motorcycle training in USA), braking and cornering exercises and motogymkhana style riding. And now, since I actively learn English - I decided to post some useful videos for both your and mine practice!😉

Since everyone writes this, it's necessary, I suppose 🤷, so here we go. Disclaimer: Ride at your own risk, you are responsible for your own safety. Me, Andrey Bodrov and my channel, Moto Control disclaim any liability incurred in connection with the use of riding techniques from this channel. Use common sense, wear full protective gear and ride in a safe and predictable manner!

I use the cowboy mount but always mount from the left side. I learned at a young age that horses are trained to be mounted from the left and treat my iron horse with the same respect. I don't know how the manufacturer trained my bike so why risk it.
I can do cowboy mount and dismount, but there are at least 67 stop signal lights on my way to work :D best to get a cruiser bike for daily commute
I'm a short(5'3'') rider, so I have to use the cowboy mount.
no you don't, just sit on your thigh, my girl's 5'1 and she can reach on my z1000 that way
I mount cowgirls.
What do u do when u need to stop at a stop sign or traffic lights
That's the easy part, the dismounting is the key :D getting on and off during stop on traffic light on a commute, you would be so exhausted, there are at least 67 stop signal lights on my way to work,,, best to have a bike that fits you..............
the cowboy mount isnt as easy as it looks. i kept falling 🤣 perhaps its my technique. but practice is key.
also, you make the duke look like a bicycle !
You fall because you aren't projecting your weight over the cockpit.
At 78 years old, I've lost flexibility, so the cowboy mount is a lifesaver. I practice it on my favorite cowgirl. Giddyap!
it depends what side of the road you ride, here in the uk riding on the left mounting from the right would be a bad idea as you would be closer to the traffic,
Hi Andrey, great channel with top contents. Thank you!
Another reason to mount from the right side is when your bike is standing close to the road with traffic so you don’t need to invade the lane
Saludos
Great point!
Good rule of thumb is to squeeze the front brake too.
Foot peg mount is what I use, thanks to a back injury. With practice, it looks pretty slick.
Everybody I learn something from you all the way in Kenya. Thank you
For the second mount, thank you for answering the first 2 frequently asked questions. They're the only reason I haven't gotten around to mounting this way. Now you've given me the confidence and I'm gonna go practice!
The only mounting course ever on RUclips! Cowboy mount actually is easy, since there is one test item for bikes here call bumpy course where you need to stand on footpegs to cross a series of small bumps.
The cowboy technique is cool. I will practice it tomorrow.
Yee-HAW!!! Giddyap!!
Terrific lessons on many planes! Uh, motorcycling planes, that is. Very existential. Yup. Bravo! 3:09
I did not know that was called the cowboy mount, but that is how I do it. I am a large mammal that rides heavy bikes and right hand mount is awkward.
Enjoy your videos very much thanks but don't have this particular problem on the Honda Monkey. Can even be mounted from behind 😊. Adios
Ryan from F9 even mounted his adventure bike from the front. 😂👍
I just love some simple silly tricks like that. 😁
The cowboy mount is the standard mount I use when riding my bicycles (I have several) but I'm not confident enough to try it on my motorcycle... just the thought of the cost of having to have any damage from a drop repaired freaks me out.
If you can do it on a bicycle, you're not going to drop a motorcycle. If anything, it would be more difficult on a bicycle because your foot isn't in one permanent location, it's changing positions as you pedal.
@@jridenour31 mate.....no one pedals while doing it on bicycle.
@JohnSmith-fo5cx The only way you can do it without pedaling is by pushing the bike to get it moving and that doesn't count.
Just one thing to consider .when you leave your bike out in public the steering is locked to the left.normally mounting from left the first thing I do is unlock steering .this allows the steering to be turned to the right to make it easier to lift and straiten heavy bike
When I'm all layered up in the winter, pants crotch tight 😵💫, this would help. Good solution
I can do cowboy mount and dismount, but there are at least 67 stop signal lights on my way to work :D best to get a cruiser bike for daily commute
In australia the right side is the traffic side. So left side mount is recommended.
I use the footpeg to mount and dismount my FJR 1300.. mainly because im old and knacekered and when i load up with touring and camping gear its much easier than usual mount dismount. 🎅👍
Keep up the good work. Mad love from Kenya
Sir, you are GREAT!! I LOVE your humor! Wish I could visit you one day and drink some beer!
thank my teacher i learnt from your experience today.i am far better adv rider thank you sir for your clarity and passion to help others
Dude with the exhaust complaint would be in trouble with my Triumph... It has exhaust on both sides!
I want you to do sme bigger/heavier cc bikes please!👍🙏🙏❤️
The same rules apply on heavy bikes like my XS1100 for example. It would be nice to see him perform it, though. 👍
(So the skeptics cannot argue... 😉)
It’s good to be able to mount/dismount from both sides, but the Cowboy Union won’t let us mount from the right, unless it is an off-camber emergency.
I like your videos. They are amazing as you explain it in the most simply way
Hi MotoControl
Like your Videos very much! However, your bike looks rather small - how does the Cowboy Mount work on bigger and toller machines like a Honda AT e.g. ?
I usually press on the gas tank when mounting from the foot peg on the right side
Thank you
Very Helpful
Take Care my Friend
I'm not sure why the first is called "newbie." If I see somebody do that, I definitely don't think "noob." I'm used to throwing my right leg over and putting my foot directly on the kickstarter so getting on from the right feels weird. You're also less likely to drop the bike if you let the kickstand hold the bike up instead of trying to balance it while you're getting on. I'm 6'1" and don't need to use the pegs as a step. The "cowboy" is fun on occasion but not very practical. I typically sit on my bike with it idling in neutral while I'm putting on the rest of my gear. I'm never off to the side of my bike running in 1st with the clutch pulled.
I live in Arizona, where there are actual cowboys. I think they would enjoy this video about mounting a motorbike "cowboy" style! 👍
thank you!
I always mount from the front 😊
Me, too! 😜
@3:55 subtitles say first gear, but it really sounded to me like you said third gear?
His accent is pretty thick and his simple vs continuous verbs are all over the place
First of course, why it would be 3rd😃
1rd gear. Geez.
@@Mad_AL Yeah, that's what it sounds like!
You left out one critical and important thing: it is bad luck to mount the bike from the right side, but slightly less bad than breaking a mirror. 🧛🏼♂️
hi bro, r u filming in Argentina? ty for the content
The cowboy one is so funny
I high side it on the right.
Oh dang, now i want to practice ask my drills with one leg off the bike
What is a food pag?
Thank you for this advice. I like how you easily use humor to make a point- like ‘not riding with pants’ and burning yourself 😂
Yaeh and come on... 😂 The exhaust argument is really rediculous, right?
If I'm not able to get around my own bike without injury, then I'm not fit for tricks or even riding at all. 😉✌️
Spacibo
Hey y’all ca I start on a cbr600rr as my first motorcycle or a ktm duke 790 i need something with some power to ride on the interstates what motorcycle do y’all think
duke will be better than RR.
Is it a good beginner bike and is it better than a gxsr 600 thank you
No tenia idea q eras de Argentina jajaja
So fancy 🥳 But really not applicable to us cruiser riders unfortunately 😞
Actually, many motor cops have cruisers, as do I and they mount the bike this way. It works for us cruiser riders too. Try it!
@@jamesbonanno3359 Really? I was thinking their pegs must be more neutrally centered to do that.
@@snatr Give it a shot and let me know what you think.
@@jamesbonanno3359 I might give it another look. But the last time I thought about mounting the bike that way, I seemed way too close to the bars for it to work out well.
So hard to center your weight with ape hangers. I get it.
👏👏👏
Оседлал по-гусарски 🐎
❤2020 africatwin ile sagdan binişi beceremiyorum 😢😢😂😂😂😂
Cue Beavis and Butthead…
out of curiosity, what is your hight?
80kg
Sorry but i think you misread and answered your weight,I meant hight😅😅
@@MeMelon4u Oh, sorry😀 186cm
@@MeMelon4u Height! How height are you, man?
BTW I RIDE OFTEN WITHOUT PANTS if you don’t live in south Louisiana you wouldn’t understand 😂
Just run a bit and mount from behind
I like to tumble onto my bike. You know - get a running head start, do a cartwheel, a couple of handsprings, maybe a 360 misty flip or two, then land gracefully on my seat, ready to ride.
Do not try these if your motorcycle does not have side guards.
Lollllolol
If you need to be told how to mount a bike you probably shouldn't have one
