That is not a good sign had me laughing on and off for hours. Funniest thing I have seen all week.
The PA Turnpike must hold the record for Construction! Your driving 70+ and then the Construction ahead sign appears and the speed limit drops to 55. This happens constantly during the whole duration of the trip!
This is part of a post I made after a very recent trip that seeing this video reminded me of. Thought I would share it. It's a VERY BRIEF SUMMARY of our adventure.
"We had a couple very scary events and a few adventures. We lost a left wheel off of the trailer while driving. It flew on by us and traveled a mile and a half as it left the highway by turning up the exit ramp, went all the way to the top, hit the median, turned and went back down the ramp crossing over into the ditch and up the other side when it finally came to a stop half way back down. I prayed so hard that it wouldn't hit another vehicle. God blessed us and no one was hurt. (Thank you Joy Taylor for the blessing you gave us as we were leaving. I think you have a direct line to the heavens.)
We had to have both axles, brake drums, bearings, tire etc. replaced. We were also blessed because the nearby repair shop (JTI RV repair in Oakwood Village, OH) we were referred to was the only place that builds axles within hundreds of miles. Of course this happened on Sunday which meant everyone was closed.
One funny thing that happened was we were crippling along through Streetsboro, OH in construction and a lady stopped going the other direction and actually turned around to stop us and let us know we lost a wheel. She wasn't sure we were aware of this. (It's a fifth wheel trailer with two axles, thankfully.) John had the back axle strapped up so that we could drive to somewhere safe and find help. Not sure what I would have done on my own besides cry a lot. (It was nice of her to let us know anyway.)
I want to ask a question of anyone who travels the worst roads in America. Why the heck is there a toll to travel on "roads" that are no better than the trails blazed by the nineteenth century wagon trains? I am not happy that I paid hundreds of dollars to have not just my vehicles beat up but my body as well. What a joke those turnpikes are, especially when you pull into a plaza and the entire computer system is offline to the point you couldn't even pay cash for a drink. (I did hear someone got a free cup of coffee.) It's a good thing we were only stopping to top off the tank and use the restrooms.
As for New Jersey, it was awesome visiting with Bruce and Irina and Claire. Glad we got to spend some time together.
And just as an FYI, you can't take an RV into NJ! I'm not sure that is a law, but be warned, don't do it. Thankfully we left our trailer in PA because the traffic is insane and we never saw a single RV anywhere.
All-in-all it was a good trip with a lot of bumps (not just in the roads) along the way."

Hey Guys, good to see y’all again. Hwy 59 from Montgomery AL to Chattanooga TN is the absolute worst road we have been on, bar none. This is from a rig that has gone I-10 east and west from Galveston to the FL panhandle, I-95 N and S from Jacksonville to the Canadian Border…Hwy 59 in Alabama is an absolute pot hole nightmare.

We were driving on 95 just north of Myrtle Beach pulling our new fifth wheel a few years ago. The roads where horrific. Our bathroom medicine cabinet door swung open and shattered the glass against our shower door. We installed a latch at our next stop and replaced the mirror when we got home.
We have been RV'ing to the Florida Keys for many years. The only problem we ever had with I-95 was in Florida. We made the mistake of getting on it the first time we went down. After several hair raising, heart stopping incidents, we jumped over onto the turnpike at Jupiter and had a nice trip after that. Now we always have a Sun Pass on our windshield and are happy to pay the tolls for the much more relaxing drive. It's worth every penny.

OMG! Back in the 80’s, when I was stationed at Keesler, it was named the deadliest road! U guys are brave!

I-95 is no picnic, except in Maine. Spend a little time looking for alternate routes in the worst stretches so you can have a Plan B. If you travel 95 enough, you will need them eventually.

Talking about bad roads, Interstate 65 in Kentucky both Northbound and Southbound between Mile Marker 102-119 is TERRIBLE. Great video! Always entertaining. In a prior video you made a simple suggestion that I thought a lot about and it is wonderful advice. That advice was to take our time. We camp about every two weeks during horse show season, so we go a lot. I typically have been rushing, and that always gave me anxiety. We're leaving in two days for another show and I'm ready to relax and take our time. Thanks for that advice.

Just took I-40 between Little Rock, AR and Nashville, TN last week towing my 38ft 10,000lb travel trailer (Keystone Outback 328RL).
Not sure what was worse, the olympic ski jumps someone conveniently left on the leading edge of every bridge, or the perfectly spaced road seams that cause non-stop violent oscillation at any speed between 50-70mph while towing (and below 50 is just feels like you have a flat tire).
Heading North was worse than on the trip back South (back to TX) but southbound was still not my favorite road ever…
That’s still better than I-35 through downtown DFW heading north during construction a few years ago! The only way to avoid hitting a concrete barrier was to play pac-man down two lanes!
I40 Bridge transitions totalled our 44' toyhauler 5th wheel Lippert frame, no toys on board. Limped back to CA where AAA totalled it. Huge Lippert vs Mfg issue, you really need to check for Lippert frame fractures during road trips, sadly..

Great video! Your brand of crazy feels familiar! When we drove the I-95 in February, it was nothing compared to Louisiana roads. We will be avoiding Louisiana as much as possible!

Dang! I wish we was there in Myrtle Beach with you! We go down there almost every year and stay at Pirateland Campground . Yes it is a big busy campground with tons of people and kids, but we love it. We do like it better Labor Day week cause the kids are back in school and it’s cheaper and not as crowded. They have a outdoor pool, indoor pool with hot tub, lazy River is the best, splash pool for the kids, kiddie pool, mini golf, fishing ponds, laundry room, game room, store, grill and ice cream shop, and so much more! Wherever you stay, I hope y’all have fun and get your camper fixed. If you do want to splurge and go out, might I suggest: Anthony’s pizza and pasta in Surfside! Good food and not a bad price. Mammy’s for breakfast buffet- hands down! If you want to partake in adult beverages and good food on trivia night, Dagwoods is the place! #ThanksHanks and happy and safe travels ❤️❤️❤️
Opps, I almost forgot to tell you guys! They just opened a Buc-ee’s in Florence South Carolina right by I-95! Just in case you are going north after you leave the beach! 😝🤨

RV repair in the same day? LOL Our new camper has been at the dealer for 2 months for the list of warranty work after last year's season of camping with it. 10 minor repairs and maybe 2-3 have been completed as well as 1 denied, which will be the last item "discussed" with the dealer when they get all other items done. It's a lot of phone calls to service and advisors not pushing to get things done, through warranty, and actually getting it back into the service bay.
Thankfully, no plans of camping for the 4th. We stopped doing the holiday weekends due to price hikes and campgrounds being full of people and barking dogs. I'd rather go odd times when parks are basically empty.
The absolute worst roads I've found are in Northern Idaho as you head east from WA to MT. Things that never fall off the walls in our motorhome fall off, 12v adapters fall out of receptacles, and even the water in the toilet splashed out a bit. Worst roads in the Northwest.

The freeways in South Carolina always bring out my grumpy side…on par with I40 through Arkansas which is equally terrible. We are day tripping to Savannah tomorrow before we get back on the road next week. Safe travels!

I95 is cake between Philly and the (DC) Beltway and South of the Beltway. The Beltway area depends on the time of day because that determines how much traffic you have to deal with; late night and early morning is pretty easy. Last time I did 95 around Philly the road had drop offs every so often that felt like it was a good 8-10 inch drop with each progressive road section; it reminded me of a boat going through locks at a canal. I haven't been much farther North on 95 than that, I usually get on at I287 in NJ near the NY border.

First of all we love the Hanks! The worst road is highway 93 between Kingman and surprise Arizona. We were jus traveling and it was awful on that stretch. Yikes!
Bridge Transitions are horrible. But I-10 is still the worst! Campers Inn is where we purchased our Momentum during the 2021 GD Rally! Best dealer we ever dealt with!

Hey from NC guys. I wouldn't tell you wrong about places to visit. You hit the nail on the head about Savannah. You guys zoomed past St Simon's Island. Money is obvious there. Jekyll Island is my wife's favorite. Mine is Tybee, home of the Crab Shack. If yall missed it you need to turn around now....or catch it next time you're in the area. I haven't lost any thing at Myrtle Beach but I'm going to watch anyway because it's you guys.
I think we are going to stay at Stone Mountain State Park, NC. Yes, NC has a Stone Mountain State Park too. It's in Wilkes County.

So our full time RV adventure is coming to an end, we bought a home in central Texas and have been living in the RV parked in the back yard while we renovate the home which will now become our "home base".
That said, if you guys decide to pass through Texas again, you're more than welcome to park your rig at our place for a few days, we have 50A with full hookups and would love to show you guys some of the best rivers in the area to paddle board on spring fed water that rivals some of the estuaries we've paddled in Florida! April through November are the best months for paddle boarding in Texas.
Anyway, just want to thank you guys for the recommendation on investing in paddleboards because we've made it our passion to paddle board almost every major city we've visited over the past 9 months we've been full time and have found that it really takes our journeys to the next level. We also invested in a 12V inflator which has been a must have investment, ha!
The most challenging road I've driven to date has been north bound on Hwy 7 going into Hot Springs, AR
That road is also one of the prettiest drives we've ever had as well, almost as good as the drive through Glenwood Springs, CO, anyway what makes Hwy 7 such a challenge isn't potholes, the width of the lanes are extremely narrow to where the width of our RV is paint line to paint line while driving on a curved road, so if you guys are up for the challenge, that's the road to check out, plus there are a ton of awesome things to see in the area as well, very high on my list of favorite cities we've visited.

Just took that same I-95 road N out of Lady Lake FL to Buffalo NY… the bumpiest parts were the NEWLY PAVED ones! Whaaaaat? My least fave for bumps is I-40 East & West…which is bumpy on both sides as it gets extreme heat in the summer & cold in winter. Love the vids, safe travels

Just so ya'll know, the highway you were on was rough, but a few years ago when we traveled into Illinois, we traveled the absolute WORST stretch of highway we have ever driven on! It was the "Barack Obama Freeway." Literally, there were vehicle suspension pieces, bumpers, fenders, busted hubs & wheels, and we even seen the rear axle with both hubs & wheels on the shoulder. The absolute WORST chug holes, pot holes and craters we had ever experienced.

There are parts of I-59 between Birmingham and Chattanooga that are horrible. Especially north bound. There are lots of left lane drivers lol. Luckily they are in process of repair again. We'll see if they get it right this time.

You guys never fail to make us smile!!!! I-10 is amazing compared to I-95 (NB) in SC. We've always been 5th wheelers and this past year I finally talked the wife into a Motorhome, we forgot our #1 golden rule for traveling in the 5th wheel! tie all cabinets shut... Well I-95 taught us a good lesson, doesn't matter what you're pulling or driving - a mess is a mess....

Stay off I-64 in West Virginia! That highway is in such bad shape that I would drive around the entire state before taking that route again.
Have you ever towed your rig on the Blue Ridge Parkway? With all those switchbacks, it is the worst I have done so far. It’s even worse when people are trying to get around you, and your nervous dog is barking right behind your head! 🐶😬🤯
We were told to avoid it in our RV last year when driving through the area
Since a large part of the BRP runs along the higher elevations, it’s also good to do a little research on where to get ON the parkway- especially if you are camping on it. Some of the roads climbing up TO it are worse than the BRP itself! As a kid, we took our 22ft Shasta end to end on the BRP. We have a 32 ft now, and travel the BRP - with caution. I’ve seen Greyhound buses take tour groups up and down the parkway REGULARLY. Just takes practice, comfort level, and caution.
Y’all should’ve stopped at exit 94 (one of the Savannah exits) and headed about a mile west to visit Nine Line Apparel and the Black Rifle Coffee Cafe inside it! My husband is such a fan of Black Rifle Coffee (Veteran-owned) , he’s a “bag-if-the-month” club member! You can also buy it at Cabella’s/Bass Pro Shops.

Karl....all that empty space in front of the semi trucks is called a SAFE STOPPING DISTANCE. Big trucks NEED IT, and it really pisses us off when little cars jump into that space and then slow down. LOL

Yeah 95 is trash, I go rt17 towards Charleston then 256 around Charleston and back on 17 to Myrtle beach, always take that route when going between Savannah and Myrtle beach, and there are nice campground around Charleston

Great video. When you go from one county to another sometimes the roads change for better or worse. Bridge approaches are sometimes bad.
Was just in Savanah last weekend, and weekend before. We always stay there when traveling to and from Florida. We've always loved it. Thats why we make it a point to stay there.

We just took a trip to PA. Drove up 3 weeks ago and took I-95 through SC...the wife and I were like WTH????!!! This road is horrible!!! The right lane was terrible. We just returned to Florida 2 days ago...going south wasn't much better....as soon as you get out of SC it gets much better. FYI we hit Buccees in SC going up and coming back!!

Savannah is one of our favorite Southeastern cities! If you haven’t been to Charleston it is even better than Savannah! I-95 around Charleston is rough! Like I-10!
