took the kids to Rovaniemi from EGSS (first choice airline)for a 1 day visit to Santa few years back and no visibility until we touched down, despite the freezing temperature and heavy snowfall the Airport run so smooth! great vid.
Very nice to see you flying in Finland and showing up the Rovaniemi scenery from Tatu. Also thanks for your comment about fly and see santa. Our control team tries to always improve and seems like we took a step to the right. Hopefully we can make it even better next year.
Matt, your videos are great despite not being able to remember everything about a myriad of models and their systems. Your viewers cannot remember everything either so we can identify with you You are able to learn new aircraft quickly and narrate clearly!!
Brilliant! Your expertise in managing so many different tube-liners, with their differing FMCs, switchgear layouts, etc. is superb. Your comment on RW airline pilots only working in relatively few types is absolutely spot on. A reminder on visibility - when you mumbled about OVC002 - visibility in a METAR is horizontal vis. measured at the airfield, sometimes just using known landmarks. If it drops below 1500m, then RVR (measured by instruments) comes into play. As for the cruise portion question, the GoPro system seems good to me. Doesn't waste the viewer's time nor internet bandwidth! Saves moving the video slider in RUclips. Alternatively, you could do a cabaret act, but I'm not too sure about either your singing, dancing, acrobatic or conjuring talents :-)
Nice video, Rovaniemi is a nice little airport, saw a photo of some of the winters charters their and wow, they do get extremely busy at this time of year
Nice video Matt. Not usually a fan of wing views or auto land but the lighting and clouds made it very atmospheric. Particularly like 35 mins onwards where you are skimming just above the cumuloform clouds. Not sure what you can do in the cruise because it's not exciting in real life, let alone in a sim!
Kudos from Finland! EFKE is Kemi-Tornio airport. The airport usually used as an alternate is EFOU. Also Rwy 15 is not used for departures unless winds favor it by 20kts or more due to noise adapment :) Just tought to let u know!
Matt, If you haven't figured out your mouse problem with "Input Director" yet, might I suggest doing what I did. In Settings, go to Master Preferences and then the "Transition at Screen-Edge window. Once there select "On double tap of edge within 600 milliseconds." This will prevent your cursor from going to the next screen when you get too close to the edge. You can adjust the timing to suit your preference. To get to the next screen you have to bump the cursor against the screen edge twice to transition over. Not a big problem once you get used to it but it prevents the accidental transitions when in EZDok.
fantastic videos as always Matt. ive gotta get twitch working with my chromecast to watch you live lol. An idea for your hour long flights. How about chatting about the flightsim stuff from your view? such as the new steam addition what you think the future of flight sim would be like etc, and of course some Q & A's. keep the vids comming :)
Hey Matt! Another great video... ;-) Quick question: how do you get the sun reflect so nicely (e.g. when you look to the left at around 13:29)? Do you use any add-on for that?? If so which??
Nice vid Matt! Would like to see an auto land from the flight deck in similar conditions. Regards the editing you were talking about, maybe a Q&A session during cruise, once you've answered the questions, edit the vid to the descent stage. Just an idea.
Just fyi about Helsinki. There's hardly ever take-offs from rwy15. Most common scenarios are "open-V", 22R for take-off and 15 for landing. Then paralels 04R take-off, 04L/04R landing and 22R take-off, 22L/22R landing. Configs depends on winds and traffic. 33 is hardly ever used also. SIDs are also a bit different since they take you only to direction of the planned route and not connect to airway fix.
Hi! I fly from Gatwick (EGKK) to Kuusamo (EFKS) quite a lot, so if you have the time an patience, could you think about adding it to your list? Thanks, Dom!
By the way, when the checklist is read, are the corresponding switches being brought in the correct position automatically? And why does a Finnair aircraft have a german registration placard in the cockpit?
Hey Matt. Okay, I give up! How the heck do you get your SIM to look the way it looks?? That's what I am looking for.....can you please let me know? Awesome! Thanks in advance.
Will, I really want to know which version of FSX do you use !? And if it's a cracked one It would be very cool of you to post the URL in the description.
Why don't you fly from London Gatwick to Heraklion, Crete. Fly EasyJet EZY5461 there. In-Flight time is about 3.5 to 4 hours. It is a great flight with lots of scenery. :)
Matt, thanks for all the videos and live streams this year. Hope you have a merry Christmas! In the mean time, I just purchased the Q400, and I was wondering where I might be able to find your EZ Dock views for it? Thanks!
Hey Matt Are you still using HDE v2 for the cloud textures or are you using something else. If so, what? I would like to know it because your sim looks awsome. (and yeah I watched that video!) Kind Regards
Did you use FSrecorder to record the wing view? Because I use it all the time but when i replay it the sound is all messed up and the flight controls too
I want to write an assay about how its completely correct :D I spoke to a real life Airbus A320 captain and he said anti-ice is always required when the outside air temperature (OAT) is below 10°C (and above -40°C I think it was) AND you are flying through visible moisture (clouds, fog). 10°C gives a big enough margin to 0°C which is required because in the engine intake the pressure is reduced as the air is "sucked in". And below -40°C all water in the atmosphere is usually already frozen - so no hazard there. In the real aircraft you have a small pin at the center strut of the front window where you can observe ice accumulation. At any time when you see ice there you put anti-ice on. You also need to consider the temperature of the aircraft itself. If you flew at a high altitude the air-frame is very cold and if you then descent into regions where liquid water can exists then you need anti-ice on as well otherwise ice could build up. And on that topic: Never use the jetwash of another aircraft to blow away the snow on the wings. The snow will melt, the water runs into the actuators for the flaps and control surfaces, freezes there and blocks them.
"Never use the jetwash of another aircraft to blow away the snow on the wings" This forms the basis of an actual question on the EASA ATPL Theory exams. It essentially asks you do you a) De-ice the aircraft or b) Get a bloke in a jet infront of you to go to TOGA and hope that get's rid of it! Still, a better question than the one that asks if you should calm down unruly passengers by using the crash axe in the cockpit!
Hi matt how do you use the Autothrottle and throttles in the airbus x extended because I keep getting a message saying A/FLT A/THR LIMITED it flashes in orange so annoying
Great video! Was this flown on VATSIM? If so I took part in the Fly and See Santa event too. Flighttime ended up 7 hours because of holding but in the end it was worth it! Cheers
Hi there Matt, I'm a big fan from Spain. I really enjoy your videos and your explinations and way of flying. As your are oftenly asking for suggestions on videos to do, I was wondering wether you could do some flying in Spain preferibly on the Mediterranean coast as I'm from there. Some Vueling flights from Barcelona and any flights from my local airport Alicante would be great too. Barcelona has a great departure with some sharp turns off runway 25L. Just something to try if you are interested. Thanks a lot. Keep up with great videos.
Great video Matt. New subscriber here. I love the time lapses. what is the song thats playing at about 30 mins in when you're on final approach? Good job!
Hey mate I know this is an old video but can you tell me? Loom so I have this problem I have the saitek pro flight throttle quadrant and when I use it on the A319 is doenst work? I didnt try any options or anything can you helpnme? Thanks
Hey matt! great video! :) I have a bit of a problem.. When i get to around cruise altitude with the a319 my engines start going down and up for some reason, really annoying! can you help?
The time it takes to align the ADIRU's or IRS depends on where about's in the world you are. I'm not clever enough to know the details and crazy science behind it but probably to do with latitudes and longitudes and satellites.
Hello Matt! You are making brilliant videos! I would be very happy if you made a flight from Gothenburg Landvetter (ESGG) to another airport you can choice! Landvetter or Save is the airport i flying from! Greetings from Sweden! ;)
Good stuff as usual.Nice to see you fly over virtual Finland for me being finnish.
Your videos are the best, don't be thinking any differently! I do admire your humble nature and attitude to your videos. Keep them coming man!

FSX Steam Edition bringing FSX back to life. :D
Love the videos Matt! They include banter and are pretty informative.
26:35 Welcome to Finland.

Wooooow, I really enjoyed it buddy, thanks so much for doing sick amazing job for all Aviation Sim Enthusiast, and Merry Christmas to you.

that wingview was a-mazing! something different
Right when I was going to request an Airbus video... Well done Matt ;)
Excellent video Matt. :D
Matt, you have done it again!
Yes you have, awesome video!
Matt,

I really enjoy your time lapses. Would you ever consider doing a tutorial on how you do them?
Q&A in mid cruise would be cool, great vid
It would be nice to have a bit of q&a in the cruise :) Great video anyways Matt, keep it up ;)
Great video! Thanks for the scenery-link! ....now I have to do this flight, as well :D
I you think its a good ide you can show some time-lapse from the Wing View or the cockpit.
fantastic videos as always Matt. ive gotta get twitch working with my chromecast to watch you live lol. An idea for your hour long flights. Hey matt I have watched some of your vids, you've got yourself a sub
Who plays the music starting at 24:34? Sounds a bit like Sigur Ros.
Hey Matt! Another great video... ;-)
Quick question: how do you get the sun reflect so nicely (e.g. when you look to the left at around 13:29)? Do you use any add-on for that?? If so which??

Praise the invention of RUclips notifications on my phone :-)

Hey Matt.
Okay, I give up!
How the heck do you get your SIM to look the way it looks?? That's what I am looking for.....can you please let me know?
Awesome!
Thanks in advance.
I was wondering if there are any nice payware bizjets besides the EagleSoft ones that seem to be quite a bit outdated?
Would be really nice to see a full PMDG MD-11 flight some time.
Will, I really want to know which version of FSX do you use !?
And if it's a cracked one It would be very cool of you to post the URL in the description.
Heh
Hey Matt, love your videos, what addons are you using besides GSX and the Aerosoft airbus X?
Matt, how do you get those sun effects on the cockpit?
Great video!
Matt, When I enter in the FMC on the INIT page everything just like you did and click next page it says "NOT ALLOWED" Help?
Amazing man
Why don't you fly from London Gatwick to Heraklion, Crete. Fly EasyJet EZY5461 there. In-Flight time is about 3.5 to 4 hours. It is a great flight with lots of scenery. :)
Great vid! Where did you get the livery from?
Matt, thanks for all the videos and live streams this year. Hope you have a merry Christmas! In the mean time, I just purchased the Q400, and I was wondering where I might be able to find your EZ Dock views for it? Thanks!
I just got track IR wow 😄
Hey matt could you make a how to set up flight plan video for a some what beginner pilot would help out a tonne
Matt, try Mouse Without Borders instead of Input director. Works very well, free and I have not had any issues with EZDOK and MWB.
Hey Matt
Are you still using HDE v2 for the cloud textures or are you using something else.
If so, what? I would like to know it because your sim looks awsome. (and yeah I watched that video!)
Kind Regards
I think he uses Rex 4 for the textures.
ha uses HDE v2, sais in a video two weeks ago i think. he said he did not like rex
Ok because I Already have HDEv2 but this textures looked fairly different. Maybe it's just me...
Did you use FSrecorder to record the wing view? Because I use it all the time but when i replay it the sound is all messed up and the flight controls too
I'd like to see some questions and upcoming news about flight sim in the cruise
Aaaand 2 years later, christmas is near :)

And one year later it is Christmas Day
And 2 months later it's Valentines day
Christmas is near ;)
Hi Matt, my gsx wont update to my new UK2000 scenery, tried re installing GSX but still wont work, I run on FSX, any tips?
hey matt where did you get tour planes and liveries forma fsx from?
I want to write an assay about how its completely correct :D

Chris_327 LOL who writes such questions? :D
The ECAM will also tell you if you need anti ice

What is the name of your software to optimize your FSX because I wish I had the same picture as you. And how does one do to install it?
Hey matt, what music did you use? It was so cool!
Could you do a flight with the new Aerosoft Airbus A321 IAE? I mean the new one with terrain/weather radar...
Would really like to see that model!
Awesome Matt! :)
One question: Where do you find charts? :)
And merry christmas! :)
Matt please reply!! I have an important question about the Airbus x extended. I've already asked a lot of people but most of them don't know
Great video! Was this flown on VATSIM? If so I took part in the Fly and See Santa event too. Flighttime ended up 7 hours because of holding but in the end it was worth it!
Cheers
yes, this is vatsim!
Abo thanks for uploading :D
What are your specs? I have a 2.80 GHz AMD Phenom and I get maybe 15 frames with just the A319, scenery I get like 10 :3
How You get by 0:40 this view?
Great video Matt! Hey how about some long haul 777 flights any destination you want.
Hi there Matt, I'm a big fan from Spain. I really enjoy your videos and your explinations and way of flying. Matt , Do you have flightfactor a350 xwb for x-plane 10?
Hi Matt this might not be the place to ask but could you do a video on the FlightFactor A350 for X-Plane 10? Btw awesome video!
When are you doing more a320 flights
Hey mate I know this is an old video but can you tell me? Loom so I have this problem I have the saitek pro flight throttle quadrant and when I use it on the A319 is doenst work? I didnt try any options or anything can you helpnme? Thanks
Awesome! :)

ChasePlane
Hey matt! great video! :)
I have a bit of a problem.. When i get to around cruise altitude with the a319 my engines start going down and up for some reason, really annoying! can you help?
What altitude?
Do you have autothrottle on?
Hello, nice video. What is this for a Music?
Is not Finnairs flightnumber prefix AY ?
Why 9 min alignment on the IRS it's normally 5. Did you change sim, time half way through?
The time it takes to align the ADIRU's or IRS depends on where about's in the world you are. I'm not clever enough to know the details and crazy science behind it but probably to do with latitudes and longitudes and satellites.
how did you load the flight plan to your airbus a319 mcdu ...where did you but the flight plan file ??
ok thanks
Matt what joystick do you use and can you link it
Hi Matt
Beautiful video, best frame rate I ever seen,so smooth, would you be able to tell what is your PC specification?
Hello Matt! You are making brilliant videos! I would be very happy if you made a flight from Gothenburg Landvetter (ESGG) to another airport you can choice! Landvetter or Save is the airport i flying from! Greetings from Sweden! ;)
What do you use to record your voice and fsx at the same time?? which program is? Thank You!!
