Had me cackling. And a bonus hidden joke from “Moments in the Woods” at the end.
This episode reveals so many reasons why I love this duo. Avril immediately saying cut to full penetration. Those Liza Minnelli, turning off a lamp, sketch beautifully re-created, Andrew, talking about the different brands of… VHS head cleaners. This episode has everything and reminds me why I love this channel.
I believed the tops must high five for it to be a real Eiffel tower 😅
“Hard cut to full penetration” is an integral part of the MB lore, on par with the wine glass funeral, the word “gownd”, and Liza Minelli trying to turn off a lamp
Oh jeeze! I just realized, you guys didn't talk about the Jinkx and Ivy crush at all! They REALLY played it up this episode, especially in the commercial teaser where Jinkx is like "I have a crush on Ivy Winters" then hard cut to Ivy crying and saying "I love you", when it turns out that was to her boyfriend over the video call! Man, I know its such a not big-deal now, but back in the old days the Ivy x Jinkx shipping went HARD cause it was like the first time people shipped two queens on their own season! Fans REALLY wanted those two to hook up, heh!
The way Coco says "By Coco" makes the "coco" sounds like poop in portuguese, I always laugh so hard when I hear it.
the bit about the eiffel tower had me fucking crying you guys
One thing I always remember about this episode, and it's not that big a deal so I don't fault you guys for skipping it, but I always remember them working on their scents and Alyssa just bangs her leg into this table three of them are all sitting at and spilled all Jinkx's oils, only for her to have this literal 👁👄👁expression like she's just pretending it didn't happen while Jinkx is all ticked off.
That, and I remember Roxxxy being like "finally, a challenge not catered to the comedy girls. Making a perfume sounds like something a pageant girl like me would excel at", and Jinkx and Alaska just killing it with their comedy, heh.
By this time into the season I was done with Roxxxy, I was 100% rooting for anyone except her, so seeing her break her face like that was priceless! So good she had the major crack by the finale.
I think Aubrey was so sharp with her criticism because of her experience from making the band. It was an extremely cutthroat competition from the early 2000s and a product of the trauma-inducing Top Model era/success.

My gay heart flourished when you basically played the entirety of “I Know Things Now” from Into The Woods.
This is easily my favorite lip sync ever on any of the seasons. Alyssa was FEELING that song. I can’t praise her performance enough and I wish more people appreciated it.
But because she didn’t flip around or lose parts of costume, no one cares about it 😭

Idk about yall, but Ru's this season was really on point. Mathu Anderson really had that mug down. These days, she looks more like Raven.
Jink's commercial made sense if you realize that the ending was her waking up again after the perfume wore off. It's really not THAT complicated

Hard cut to full Penny Tration! And it's just her not knowing the words to Party In The USA. Would've had me in hysterics but that bit from Avaryl still got me 🤣🤣
The joke is that Alyssa's secret is the perfume she wears (e.g., someone who might say "my secret to attract men is chanel no 5"), but since it's called Alyssa's Secret the answer sounds ridiculous. It's actually a pretty mel brooks-movie-style joke, I'm surprised Avaryl didn't enjoy it!
I appreciate Aubrey coming in and actually judging/having an opinion tbh. A lot of the other people just sit there blank eyed and weirdly laugh at bad puns....or are into voguing right now.

Ivy's Poison

Poison is actually a classic fragrance from Dior that has been around since the 80s, guessing that's what Ivy was referencing.
Ivy should have gone with "Poison Ivy" as her campaign and just gone down the superhero route/the perfume that kills as Dior already had a perfume called "Poison" (released in the 80s).

I feel like this is the episode where you took so many movie references from one accent. It was enjoyable to see how quickly it moved.
Aubry O'Day was a member of "Eden's Crush", one of Sean Combs' groups from the T.V. show Making the Band. She was highly favored by Diddy. If you know what I mean. No wonder she's unhinged.
Aubrey was in the group Danity Kane. Nicole Schlesingershamalayn was in Eden's Crush. I think how cut throat and intense that competition was and how toxic Diddy actually was what made Aubrey so intense.
I can tell you, as a perfume diva, that there are some "sexy" smelling perfumes like sadonaso by nasomatto and secretions magnifiques by E.L.D.O.

Also fun fact-while Aubrey is coded to be very intense and "crazy", this was supposed to be around the time she came in 3rd on Celebrity Apprentice, and I guess was there to represent the sharky marketing type.
But an even MORE fun fact: she was originally in a now defunct girl group Danity Kane which was started on MTV's Making the Band, created by Diddy. What makes this fun is that YEEEARS ago the group split up and ever since then Aubrey and Diddy had not been on great terms (Diddy and by extension BBE were notoriously rumored to be shitty people to work for). Recently Aubrey went on the record during an interview clearing the air on all of the millions of dollars she never saw, and the sinister intent behind Diddy attempting to give them royalties while also forcing them into gag orders. Not long after that, Diddy was sued by his long time girlfriend Cassie (another musician he "started") over r*pe and abuse charges and settled for 30 million dollars. Morale of the story: a broken cuckoo clock is right twice a day!
