Fishing Massive Northern Pike With Hot Dogs

- It is the opening weekend on the Ottawa River for pike and walleye and with no bait allowed on the Quebec side of the river. We decided we want to fish some of these tributaries flowing into the Ottawa with some kind of meat under a float. We found our grocery store mystery meat and headed out to see if we could in fact get that elusive Ottawa River 40 inch Northern pike.
In my videos I target trophy game fish species from all across Canada. Focusing in Quebec and Ontario, fishing from the boat, on the Ice as well as days on the bank in the most secluded to the most Urban spots Canada has to offer. Fishing with friends and clients from across the country and the globe you can be sure to see all kinds of action as well as educative information to help you achieve catching your trophy of a lifetime.

I’ve used chunks of bacon on a jig and caught channel cats off the pier in Deep, what I noticed is it stays on the hook pretty dependably and the fish can swallow it and not tear it up too bad. If it’s not sacrilegious to use bacon like that.
I tired basin on a jig a few weeks ago on livescope. Could see the fish coming up to the jig but could not get any to bite it lol.

im a big fan of bobber fishing watching the bobber go down and wait for the good moment to set the hook is such an adrenaline rush haha good content man keep it up

Great video. I don't know you were from Deep River. Are there any muskies in that section of the river? If you ever feel like musky fishing in around Arnprior, reach out.
I know there are some in the river but very few from my knowledge. I’ve seen a few personally and know a few guys that have caught them but I’d say it’s more luck than anything. They come in from places like the petawawa river that glow into the Ottawa and then they just hang out with their not being to big of a population

The spray was in the truck too. I also went back for my phone mid day and again forgot the bug spray. Good thing the fishing was good

Done that on ice, had days where dogs did baitfish
