I sooooo love that kind of sight fishing with those massive holes like that. I wish it was legal in my state. I have done it a couple times a very long time ago when I first started ice fishing and didn't know all the rules. When I learned it wasn't legal to have holes that size I was soooooooo bummed out! It's just so awesome seeing giant Pike and Trout come through there in that shallow water.
Yup that was us! Hope you were able to catch a few! I couldn’t believe the size of the fish this year. There will be less giants next year but should see a few over 27” next winter
@@CastandConquer Just moved up here in october, thins lake is insane we go lots of 25+ my biggest is 26 1/4, 1 day before freeze up then injured my arm later that evening or I probley would of been on the ice by the time you guys rolled up lol. My wife got her first ever fish through the ice 23" and my son lost a monster. Lots of schmedium fish for myself. We got tones of snow shortly after you guys were there was only 4-5" the other day still, lots of slush and the site holes were still thin, once again thanks for marking my son likes to run around while we wait for the jackers to snap.
Those were some great fish guys... VERY NICE... Went out yesterday and my son and I pulled out the smokeshows.... we smashed a pile of rainbow/brookies through the ice... (50-60 fish day between us) And ran into a couple guys that drove 4/hrs to the mountain to fish... thier first day sucked... so we gave them a couple jigs and bait...set them up on the "hole" and they caught 20-30 between them... the one guy just moved to Canada from south Africa , we helped him get his first brookies... he was just like a kid in the candy store... IT WAS GREAT... Glad we made thier trip for them... GOOD KARMA. Great vid guys... see ya on the next one... From my finally starting to freeze again igloo on the mountain in grande cache alberta Canada 🇨🇦 D.
@CastandConquer it really fun in my eyes to put people on good fishing... especially people who are new to the sport... I try my best to be a good fishing ambassador.... lol...
@@CastandConquer don’t forget that Brook trout are char, you can tell because the leading edge of the fins are while, same with lake trout, bull trout, Dolly Varden ect
@DoingStuffWithMiq it is very hard to break personal bests now. The reason I like to travel for new fish or fish I don’t get to target as often. Makes it a bit easier to achieve a new pb
It was an absolute blast, and I can't wait to get back out there! Your in Manitoba are you not? If so you have some great angling opportunities around you.
@ yes we have amazing species here to target. I wanted to try for trout yesterday in lac du bonnet but it was +4 and I’m not well versed in the ice fishing world.. yet, to feel confident enough to go out in my own. Soon enough!!
@Reelsoverheels I know Lac du bonnet. I have a friend that lives there. Like I said earlier a floater suit is a must have as well as a spud and ice picks. Then you can feel safe venturing out
@ that’s wicked!! Living out there would be so peaceful. It’s definitely on my list of things to buy!! I have picks at the very least 🥳 one day I’ll have a sight hole set up and all the fun toys like you pros!
I'm watching this video because I love to view these competitions. I was hooked with the "Game of Inches" and I was stoked to this this on the venue. I'll be joining in for every one!
Yeahhh boyyyyyyy Nice Epic video man Hope to see you soon for big slab crappie and Largy 💪🎣🎣🎣🎣 Its your partner in crime Benoit Lussier AKA Benny Ice Fishing Guide 👌
Have you guys ever used live liner reels with a jaw jacker? I have a few for Striper fishing, and plan to try them this season. They seem like the PERFECT thing for jaw jacker/tip up rod fishing. So they have light drag to swim, but enough to set the hook, then when you start to reel you have your drag set for fighting. Maybe that stuff freezes up or something but seems like a perfect combination.
@ Diawa makes a few, and Okuma Ceymar makes a 500 and 1000 size. But test the lightest drag on the lower drag before you buy… the Diawa to me has the lightest settings in that regard
This is toooooooo awesome!! Just started the video and I'm already stoked, this is such an awesome gang of fishing freaks!!!
Don’t forget to check out the other channels linked below to see the other teams perspectives of the day
So epic, you guys were on fire!!! Awesome vid man!
Was likely the best day of trout fishing on the ice I’ve ever had.

It’s a trip I look forward to all year. Just good people making good memories
That trophy is the bomb! Love it!
It’s crazy how dense and heavy it is for its size.
Congrats on the win! Amazing the video you put together with lost footage
Thanks so much it was a grind but made a great video.

Wait for day two!
@ I can’t wait!!!

How far would you have to travel to find a state it’s legal in?
Was on the lake yeterday and saw the site holes everywhere figured it was you guys again. Thanks for marking the sight holes!

That's some crazy good stocked trout fishing! Incredible quality. Congrats on the new PB!
It was about time I broke my pb rainbow on the ice. I’ll have a tough time beating this one now unless I go to Saskatchewan
@CastandConquer I feel like at the point you're at in fishing accomplishments that most PB's are a huge undertaking to try and beat.

Wow those are beauty fish. Nice job on the video as well. I can’t wait to catch one of those beauties for my first time soon!! 🎉

You will get there. Some things like safety items are a necessity for early ice fishing
I can’t wait for ice nice catches 🤙🎣

That 25.25" looked taller than the bigger one. I think it weighed more for sure.
I’d have to agree would have been awesome to know the weight. I truly don’t weigh much fish anymore. Really just walleyes and bass
Still haven't made it on the ice yet. Being on call for work blows. Stuck at home seeing everyone else slamming fish sucks.
I haven’t been able to go locally yet since this trip out west. But it’s coming!
And God said you can walk on water
Light like a feather sting like a bee

If you ain’t first you’re last
Nvr mind it cant be. No cabins on it
I was going to say it wasn’t
@JaySiemens brought me here.
