You can take a 3-hour train ride around the entire city for about 30 cents. You get a good view of the landscape and get to see many villages. The National Museum is also good.
Thanks a lot for the intro to Yangon! Was really helpful for my trip there ((: Btw I also found some other alternative things to do and made a vlog too if yall are interested in how the city is like currently hehe ^^
Great video GRRRL TRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa Haven't checked out your channel for awhile. You dropped off my radar there. I'll make it a point keep an eye for your next video.
No worries. Been doing my own thing. I've been so busy between work and then my blog/vlog, I haven't had time for the FB vid forum these days. I'll eventually have to change that when things slow a bit but congrats on how well your channel is doing! =)
I just watched your video.... small (no scratch that) big warning DO NOT TAKE STREET TABACCO . That stuff is seriously strong ...(ok let's call it medicine)...medicine...
Personally, Myanmar felt like one of the *least* crime-oriented countries in SEAsia. Doesn't mean crime can't happen, with the huge influx of tourism and development. I'd watch my Money tips for Myanmar ruclips.net/video/O3r_wG91GEc/видео.html . Those torn bills feel a lot more common.
Pluvia Chan Yay! Check my description box-- I wrote some helpful guide posts about Myanmar on my blog. The '19 Things to Know before you go" is something many find even more helpful for trip planning. =)
+Nakadu I absolutely disagree about the zoo. I did not recommend it because it was the saddest display of animals in cramped spaces and animal cruelty I've seen yet.
GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa Oops, I didn't think they were cramped and didn't see signs of cruelty - but I wasn't there long and if you are right then I agree with your reasons for omitting it. I like your video.
I visited there twice in 2013. I owned a 1994 Corolla saloon at that time and to my surprise there were so many of it kinds there. I took a picture of one of this corolla, a taxi. But suddenly a man asked me to delete the picture. I did not know why, but since then I thought there were needed some kind of permit to take picture there. Anybody could give explanation?
Nice and informative. However, please respect the country you visited. You have been mentioning about drugs...drug trade couple of times. I think there are many more drug addicts in the US compared to Myanmar.
I think it is.. I hear you can get high off it and I'm sure there are RUclips videos on it. But I hear it's not good for your teeth; a lot of Burmese & Indian men have stained teeth.
Hi, did you visit Bagan? I will be going to Yangon in 4 weeks and I am debating whether to try hot air balloon in Bagan or wait to visit Cappadocia. Any suggestions?
+Stephanie Trejo You just reminded me that I've forgotten to edit that video. lol. Bagan is similar to Cappadocia in wow factor, but instead of cool terrain, it's pagodas (as far as the eye can see). Haven't ballooned in Bagan, but I like Capp because it had a variety of terrain and a crap load of balloons going up at the same time. If it's either/or, depends on what your cool factor is. If you can, I'd do both.
Thank you for your quick response. I am quite excited about traveling in Myanmar. Any other useful tips? By the way I really enjoyed watching all of your videos.
+Stephanie Trejo Hello, Stephanie. I'm Zarni. I lived in Yangon for 20 years before I study abroad. There are a lot of interesting places in Myanmar, but I'd recommend Kyaik-ti-yo Pagoda, located in Mon State. There is a hiking trek to the pagoda which is about 11 kilometers (6.8 mi).
Great video GRRRL TRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa
Thanks Mark Wiens ! I'm trying ;)
Round applause for ya
I am going in the next couple of days! Thank you for this!!

Surely the zoo should be in the top 11?? It's really good......Yangon is a fabulous city.
