- I always felt this song has such a special feel... a kinda haunting, that I wanted to expand on!
As like many of the mixes... not exactly finished! As annoyingly Audacity created some lil clicks.... but it's a very.... very old song! Just think of them as record crackles! lol... adding to the atmosphere ... (0;
But! Anyone with talent... something I lack! haha!! ...feel free to take this and sharpen it up some!!
While you're here! Why not have a look/listen to my 'Requiem Suite For A Fallen Angel' of Elton John's 'Song For Guy', it's more of a concept album that took 15 months to create, it's rather ambient, prog, and full of emotion. It is a tribute, and comes with a slide show story of a true tale, of which there has never been a story of more woe.

Probably one of the Stones' most amazing songs and yes, the haunting quality of it just makes it that much more ethereal. The recorder on this piece (played by Brian Jones) just blows me away every time, and I've been listening to this song since it was first released in '67!
This song has a strange magical charm. The wind instrument part of this song sounds superb. Every time I listen to this music, I am reminded of the most beautiful moments in my memory.

Excellent rendition and indeed haunting. Thank you! I was actively buying 45 rpm vinyl records in 1967 athe time this song was originally issued. I was 15 years old here in western Canada in 1967. Your version is almost like a symphonic version because I can imagine how a full orchestra would sound playing this piece of amazing music.
Also a 1952 baby, I have had the privilege for some 55 years.

You probably not heard of it before, as I made it! It was sitting there unfinished for about 2 years, and I still feel it could do with touching up a bit... but not a re-upload, as WOW! about 80,000 views! ...My Ghostbusters mix was on over 12,000 when I uploaded a much better version, and a year later is on 1,500 views.
Very glad you like it! Please check out my extended version of 'Angie', another songs of theirs with so much feeling, emotion, and I spend a very long time on creating my version to try bring it all out more, but has a tiny fraction of the viewings.
That echo chamber sound definitely does gives it a haunting, in the woods at night effect.

I just finished my biggest ever music project about someone I lost.... This took a bit of fiddling over a few weeks (with feeling), what I just finished took 15months. . A tribute to not just what the word lost, but sadly I was the only one ever allowed to see... Which I feel proud of to be the one chose, for those years Always remembered.

And a song of theirs maybe part forgotten, 'Angie', I feel that cos this mix of mine has about 80,000 views, but my extended version of 'Angie', has under 200 after months! I think the two songs (originals) are as strong as each other, as in feeling, emotion.... but that one going unsung.
loving you remixes,Audacity saves in different bit rates,I found this out,once songs were uploaded,they started to jump and click.May help to export in a mid rate between 16 and 32.Keep up the great work.
Thanks!! It's great others enjoy them ...I hate listening to a song too often, even more than once a month! So I rarely get to hear my own mixes... except while making them, and it can drive ya nuts! lol... The worst was Band Aid... 'BUTT say a prayer' it became in my mind with some weird arsed images lol!!! But Sep to Oct, I must have listened back to it 30-35x checking for errors... and woteva Audacity had chucked in!!!! Song For Guy was the worst, as I reach Audacity's limit of changes, the project at 26GB!!! 1000s of adjustments, but suddenly, the last few days... it worked! No bad new clicks.
When making, I always save at 320kbps, I know nothing about adjusting bit rates... maybe i'll look into it... but the clicks happen while adjusting the mixes in Audacity, not when exporting them as mp3s, well it's what I find! ..I know Audacity screws up for different people in different ways! Which is odd!
I do wonder if others can even hear many of the clicks, as they can be 1/4000th of a second, maybe the average mind doesn't even register them? But my mind is just a bit weird! lol, maybe Autistic I reckon? Which explains, and helps lots in me making these mixes, with a crazy imagination!!! ...reminds me of a short story I wrote in School called 'Macrowave', about an evil scientist who created a weapon that microwaved all to a certain radius outside of the box!

Brian Jones haunting recorder...he knew what instrument was needed for each song ....to make it stand out ..that was his genious...he also played the wonderful piano ...and according to Marian faithful Jones wrote the original melody..but was never credited ...in other words jagger and Richards fkd Jones over.
It's a very haunting track, very beautiful... I just let my imagination run away with it, and probably ruined it hahahahahahaha!

If you use Audacity... or something not free and more ability! ...with someone who has some ability! (not me! HAHA!!) then you could touch it up to be better quality sound... often just tweaking the treble can make a big difference.

Every version I work with comes from RUclips, and then there is the use of sounds, like stretching, warping, reverb... and so on to get different effects, and all on Audacity... a wee free program that I don''t know what 99% of it does haha!! ...so really it's a case of... how off Earth did this get done? lol
I know it's a lil rough in bits, but maybe due too it being such an old song, the odd click here and there is OK... like a good old noise records made with a lil wear. I come to realize it's actually the program that creates the clicks... and they can be as small as 1/4,000th of a second... so maybe others can't hear them? But I can! And also it can be a huge job to remove one, so if there are many... like Song For Guy Requiem Suite, which had 1000s of adjustments, and removing clicks must have added a few months of work.

There have been many bands who went on to do great music after big member (oh matron) changes, even when the singer (of the hits) had long left! Take the Moody Blues, 'I Know You're Out There Somewhere' to me is their best song... from the 80s!
My fave band 'Ultravox', they have had 5 singers! HAHA!! ...at one point they did have a different name, due to legal reasons only. Actually they started out as Tiger Lily, back from the early 70s when a fusion of Jazz and early punk! Shame they didn't do more of that type in them days... but just two songs... Oh! And Midge... not the original singer, a different guitarist (Midge did too) ...yet most who know of the band don't even know there was an Ultravox pre-Midge.
...Sometimes the best is yet to come!
