I had to have a c section, and for those shakes that your talking about during the surgery and after, the nurse told me to stick out my tongue to stop shaking…and it worked for me.
I wish your videos had been around when I had my daughter years ago. I knew nothing as she was an emergency c section. The thing that shocked me the most was the shaking! And it lasted for hours after she was born. Keep the videos coming honey! You’re doing an amazing job! ❤
Thank you for this!! I’m gonna have my second c section but it still feels like I’m gonna go through everything for the first time. My first was so traumatic because instead of any sort of shoulder pain, I had a piercing knife-like pain right where my heart is. That scarred me for a long time and took the joy out of my delivery. What made it worst was that my OB couldn’t explain it either. I really hope things work out better this time.
I’m Australian, and my experience is that the doctors don’t like you driving or lifting things heavier than your baby for 6 weeks. But luckily, we are usually prescribed stronger medication.
You knock it out of the park every time, thank you! I'm hoping not to have a c-section, but better to be prepared than to be surprised and scared when things pop up. I really didn't know any of this, and it's super helpful. I'm going to make my husband watch, too, so he also knows what to expect.
Thankyou for your videos 😊 ❤ this will be my second section but first was emergency so don’t remember a lot. Your info has been comforting and I feel much more prepared. Wish you could be my nurse 💕
@@tracy3418 I just had it last week! It went well and everything was much calmer than the first time. The shakes were strong and they took a while to go away but sticking my tongue out helped.
Oh wow... I'm 5 weeks PP and wish I had this video to inform me. I didn't know about how they had to push and pull the baby out. Now I realize why my ribs were bruised when they had to push my baby out, but he was sitting too high up near my ribs. My incision area and lower abdominal area is still sore so I'm keeping my binder on. The binder helps with postpartum pain management as well. Thanks for this video ❤
Very informative. This upcoming January I'm going to have another (second baby this time) C-section. I didn't know half of the reasons why things happened like they did the first time around and your video was very helpful. I definitely remember the nausea afterwards and how the shot hurt so much that they had to do a second one to get it right because I flinched... Hopefully that goes better this time around. 🤞
Thank you for your content! Do you ever include situations where mom has no support people. While I understand most people have a support person/families/friends, many don’t or at the last minute go through births without outside support apart from hospital staff 🤔
I'll be having a c-section in about 2 weeks for a breech baby, and I am TERRIFIED. My first was a vacuum delivery (to avoid c-section), so I actually feel experienced in the pushing on the top of my uterus thing....but what really scares me is the prospect of nausea/vomiting - I have SEVERE emetophobia. I'm planning to ask for any kind of anti-nausea and/or anti-anxiety medication...do you think that will help?? Thanks for a very informative video!
The shoulder pain is so annoying. I was given peppermint oil tablets and a heat pack...these worked a treat. Going for 3rd C-section in Aug, I'll be asking for a heat pack early 🙂
How long did it take you to be fully recovered from your c sections and not feeling any more pain around your incision without having to take pain meds? I’m 4 weeks postpartum after my very first c section and I still feel the pain internally and the area of the skin around my incision.
@Jess Baron I wasn't so bad after 1st one. I took it slow and was mostly numb around scar for a few months. 2nd C-section, I had a wound drain in for a few days, scarring from 1st op and a 2yo to contend with! So it did take longer to recover. I asked Dr if I could have stronger painkiller for a little longer. It's best not to rush healing, take it easy 😊
Could you please do a video about what to expect with your next baby after having a c section with your previous baby. I had an emergency c section two years ago and the doctor said she cut so I could have a vaginal birth if I waited a year to get pregnant. I waited two years and I really hope to have a natural birth with this second baby like I wanted with my first. Is it possible that that could happen or is it true that after one c section the rest of your babies are delivered by c section?
You've probably already talked to you doctor about this but I just wanted to pass on: you can have a baby vaginally after a c section. but you have to meet a certain criteria and the hospital you go to has to have enough resources to provide a VBAC. (At least that's what my sister told me) My older sister had an emergency c section first followed by two vaginal births. So it's possible! Not sure what your situation is and I hope you have a healthy, safe delivery for both you and your baby, no matter which way it goes!
I was hyperventilating first time round bcos I couldn't feel my lungs fill with air, i coulsnt feel when they were full or empty, I mentally had to count breaths in and out which helped calm my nerves anyway and then my vitals returned to normal lol
I had an emergency c section and hasn't done much research on the same. The shaking came as a huge surprise and was horrible. Couldn't feel my baby with skin to skin as it continued for at least 2 hours😢
It really sucks if you have it. With my 2nd c section the pain was pretty bad i was crying from it. The nurses didnt fully explain it to me likw how this video did so i never fully understood how the gas can cause pain. But once i was given a stool softener my shoulder pain was gone.
I've had 2 c-sections as of almost 6 weeks ago. My 1st was due to pre-eclampsia and getting stuck at 4cm for 2 days. The 2nd was because the hospital doesn't allow vbac. Boy, do i wish it did! I had a senoma form at the fascia on top of the abdominal muscles. It opened up the evening of my 1 week post op and scared me senseless. The ER did nothing but recommend my ob refer me to wound care. 2 weeks with the wound vac, and it was recommended to completely open the incision. 4 days after the 2nd surgery, they are now recommending me to a plastic surgeon to close it up. I guess we'll see how much longer this recovery will take..... 😒 3 surgeries for 1 baby. I swear there's only the 1!
Is it true that after c-section you are allowed only a max of two more and then you cant have any babies anymore... this is under a situation where you've never had natural birth (and will be maxed to three c-sections) or you had a vbac and then now a second c-section (of which you'll only have a one left after)?
So you can have as many babies as you like but keep in mind with each c section that uterine wall on the lower segment by your scar gets thinner. But you can lessen the risk by making sure there’s lots of time between babies. It might mean more closer monitoring
How many C-sections can a women have before she reaches her limit? This is my 3rd baby (3rd c-section) Because i do plan on having at least another baby after my 3rd but im going to at least wait a few years before we have another baby.
So ACOG recommends waiting 18 months between having your baby and getting pregnant again. For any type of delivery. As to how many c-sections you should have that will totally depend on you and your anatomy and how you heal. Your provider would be able to counsel you well on this :)
Actually depending on the amount of opiods and how your body adjusts to it you can drive just fine. This is coming from someone who was a pharm tech and its standard for patients who use opiods on the daily for things like chronic pain can drive depending on the dose and how they adjust.
No one prepared me for the shakes. I thought I was going to fall off the table! It was an emergency C-section though. From the time they told me about needing the surgery to my son being born was about 5 minutes.

Same. I had 2 c sections but both were urgent & not by my choice.

That makes me so happy to hear
I had horrible shakes after my emergency c-section and my whole body was so incredibly itchy!
The itching is normal too! But it’s awful hey? Like earthquakes in your own body 😩
Yes! No one prepared me for the shakes!
The shoulder pain is so annoying. I was given peppermint oil tablets and a heat pack...these worked a treat. Going for 3rd C-section in Aug, I'll be asking for a heat pack early 🙂

You had us at big macs! Great tips!
Big Macs are good-until you’re yacking them up in post op!
I'll ne getting my second C-section in two weeks, had my first 17 months ago..
Will it hurt so much this time coz of the short period between the two?

Good to know. I thought a caeserian would be a lot less painful but it's probably just as uncomfortable by the sounds of it x
Less painful if you don’t have the labor part that goes with it…but lots of interesting things that follow!
