Yes, very true. HE WAS THE HIGHEST PAID SUPERSTAR OF INDIA. This is historically proven TRUTH that when others were earning money via nonsense garbage films , only this very Khanna- The Original Superstar gave us True Gems in 80s as well as till mid 90s (Khudai, Aa aab laut chalain). One more significant fact that even in Multi star films, he performed as Lead Hero/Central Character/double role (Rajpoot, Kudrat, Ashanti, Papi pet ka sawal hain, Awaam, Dharam aur Kanoon etc.). Ultimately one fact remains true that his almost all the films are considered as standard films even after 5 decades, whereas Amitabh's films are basically as meaningless garbage films meant for FRONG BENCHERS. This is the basic difference of Rajesh Khanna with others. He always maintained dignity with versatility.

AB was married to Jaya and had a live in relationship with Rekha and kissed 'Amrita Singh' in public, Your AB can never play the role of "Anand babu" from "Amar prem". Your AB does illogical actions. And AB used stars like RK and Dharmendra for fame. After getting success AB also banned Shatrughan Singha from many movies.

@@hiteshsoni2003 I know that "Anand" was Hrishikesh Mukherjee's movie. Hrishikesh Mukherjee wanted to cast Dharmendra for the role of Anand. But Rajesh Khanna wanted to do the role, that's why RK went to Hrishi da and asked for the role. But Hrishikesh told RK that, Hrishi da would not be able to pay RK so much money as RK was a superstar. RK replied that RK don't need money, RK just want to do the role. This is the greatness of RK. Now listen, once in an interview AB admitted that, people came to khow about him, because he had done a role with RK. Let me tell you, RK helped Salim Javed and Yash Chopra when they were nothing, but Samil Javed played dirty game with RK and established AB, "Deewar" movie was signed by RK. Then Salim Javed replaced RK and put AB in it.

It's not true, around 74- 75 situation was changed from romantic films to action films, emergency period in india, salim javed shown illogical films featuring thin and tall man fighting with 15 goons.... Rajesh Khanna'continued working as a Solo hero all his career except few multistar films..but even in 1980s you will find his films better in content as compared to action heros who offered violence and vulgarity.

@@ManishKumar-lr2ve there were many factors, he was not fortunate like others in terms of family relationship's, troubles with wife, too much drinking, he was a loner, which took his death, look at Dharmendra, he drink as well, but he is a happy family man, but Rajesh khanna was not supported in that way. I am his big fan since childhood, as a loyal fan , I accept he was full of pride and due to reserved nature he was not able to make friends and social contacts, Amitabh is successful because of his links, Amitabh never felt embarrass to ask for a work from Yash chopra when he was in crisis but Rajesh khanna never went to anyone to beg for films..... Yes you're right that he was not able to accept the change that he is not the superstar as before but in. His head he remained a superstar..
Audience changed with Time...in all his speeches he recited the same words of his film Daag, it was his tragedy. But he was a chrismatic hero of his time...some best of his movies are Amarprem, kudrat, Amardeep, Anand, Avatar etc..

Rajesh Khanna Jee is the best Actor Ever!
He was real Superstar of early 70s. Unfortunately, he could not change his characters, unlike Amitabh lead to his fall from top. Amitabh has series of flops in early 70s and then came Abhiman, Deewar, Sanjeev and Sholay which took Amitabh to deferrent level. Amitabh was playing second fiddle to Rajesh Khanna in two iconic movies, Namak Haram and Anand. It was also difficult for Rajesh Khanna to accept his failures later and his failed marriage with Dimple all lead him becoming alcoholic spoiling his health. Amitabh did have his downturn, but managed very well, getting out from almost bankruptcy to another lease of life. May luck from KBC brought back his charisma and his baritone voice. Even at this age, whether he is sponsoring an add or being movie, people love to watch. His brand image is far beyond as an actor.
