  • Bollywood's very versatile Amjad Khan was a pure delight to meet and interview. It was 1987, and we met up a 1pm. He had just gotten up and had a shower, but he gave us the most amazing interview. We even asked him a question about his weight. His answer was totally surprising. Make sure you watch till the end.

Notice how calm these old interviews used to be. No aggression, no abusive language, no sarcasm, no fake accents, no unnecessary crap, no fancy background music, just simple dialogues between the interviewer and guest. To the point and at the end you learn so much.

Simply because the actors were "educated" in a worldly way....they were reading and stayed connected with the real world.
Today everyone is staying in a self cultivated bubble where the actors feel compelled to act bizarre bordering on hyper stupidity or such antics so that they can differentiate themselves from the audience..else they feel they are at a risk as being perceived normal by the audience.
Take Karan Johar on CWK and how he talks and acts...would you ever put up with such a person in real life? Same goes for the cast of crazies he interviews.

ye fake accent kya hota hai bhai ? fake orgasm hota hai, fake smile hota hai, fake accent hai hota. Koi agar kisi accent mein baat kar sakta hai, to woh kar sakta hai, Intelligent hai to koi intelligent hai, intelligent fake nahi sakta.

D Mahal Infound some film magazines from1939. If you read them, you will say exactly the same. That nothing has changed. Exact same topics, same issues, same view points, same letters from readers. Whenever people talk about how it was different 10-20-50 years ago, they qre bqsically talking about their own self rather than society. Thei prception is based on their age and surroundings at that time. But people of similar age and background at that time are exactly the same.

This is what I would call an authentic interview with an actor.

One of the finest talented actor of Indian cinema. Hats Off ! Very rare to see such talent in current nepotism filled Bollywood.

    • @tangibleemotions7
      @tangibleemotions7 Год назад

I completely agree. However, the irony is Amjad Khan is also a product of nepotism, albeit completely justified by virtue of his extraordinary acting talent.
Amjad's father was the well known character actor Jayant. This helped Amjad to get cast in several movies as a child in the 1950s and 60s but he got his first big break in Sholay and the rest is history. Amjad has an elder sibling, Imtiaz Khan, who also acted in movies during the 1970s, playing villainous characters but with limited success..

C'mon. Of course he is intelligent. Who do you think he is? Some movies he did were and still are watched all over the world and not only by Hindi understanding Indians.
He was THE VILLAIN of Bollywood and still was not confined to villain roles only. That explains it all.

Sorry I lost my cool there. It's just that he did not get what he deserved is what makes me sad on the life itself.
It's like as if being one of those who have a cancer or something, got my ... ishara?
Instead of a villain, he ended up being a tragic victim.
Well life can be harsher, look at Ritwik Ghatak, starving to death, being among the best directors India ever offered to the world.
That's all, guess I am a bit angry, but not with you man.

creatvt2007 I can understand that, even the likes of Kader Khan ji couldn't save himself from people's changing prospective based on the current status he holds within the Hindi movie industry, his fans still love him but in the last few years,Bollywood has neglected him like he is nobody,it makes me feel both sad and angry.

The energy given off by the late Amjad Khan in this interview is one of frustration with the society, for not being on the same plane of understanding the world and its ways as he is. His thought process truly was way, WAY ahead of his time.
Kudos to the interviewer for being able to handle that energy so well and conducting the interview in such a graceful manner.
