👍 One thing that I like about this kind of vídeos is that they are so clear and sharp to the point, that there's barely need to take a look at the manual 📓. And there's fun included, which the manual lacks 😀. Thanks. And " Viva Jeep ! " ( Flatfender, of course 😀 ) 👍
So much easier to take the gear shift lever off before dropping the tub on. Yesterday (3rd Feb 24) I dropped my mid series Willy's tub (pre trailer socket) onto my November 44 GPW chassis. I had three guys helping me, two of whom are Landrover enthusiasts. They couldn't believe how quick and easy it was and how light the tub is.
Couple of tips.... learnt from my restorer... 1. Fit gauges whilst the tub is off the body... stand it on its rear end... that way you can work standing up instead of laying down.... 2. When about to mount body on to chassis, replace your correct and no doubt painted steering wheel sleeve, with an old one so that scratches don't matter.
This is definitely a team effort job ! Even then there were a few nasty scraping noises, good to see you got the girls in on the job ! I find the machine gun mount gets in the way at about this point, but you got it in place! Stay safe! Chris B.
A good job well done, but id have put copper paste on all the bolts just in case in the future you had to remove the tub, but then i live in England and all car parts go rusty, except glass fibre or plastic. When i win the lottery ill have a Willys shipped over here God willing, Smokey Bond
Great video. Quick question for you on the bolts. It looks like some of the bolts are grade 8, and some aren't. Did you buy a "bolt kit," or did you buy individual bolts with the sizes based on your research, and had to take what they had available? Thanks.
Any suggestions on the use of star washers and stamped pal nuts for the mounting bolts? My MB came with plenty of these and it appears their use is correct.

Great video and very detailed with the information. Helps with the tub install for the 43 GPW I am working on.

I bought individually, just like you said. Kits are available. I just was getting impatient that particular weekend😉👍

My RFPJ body bolt kit only came with the stamped nuts, no star nuts, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with them?
Did you all have the pedals on during this? Tried putting a tub on with the column and the pedals and it was not working out so well.
Do you use lock tight on any of these bolts?
