Your pattern matching is no one's business but your own, Lauren! Everything you make is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your process so generously
This is so kind, thank you so much! I truly appreciate you!
I think the quality of your sewing is wonderful!! I can't believe anyone mentioned matching flaws. My!! No worries. You are so talented at everything you do!
Aw, you are so kind Cindy! I truly appreciate it!!
I agree! Your sewing skills are amazing! I wish people wouldn't comment things like that because it's often more discouraging than constructive.
The top is so pretty! I love how modest it is even though it’s a tank top ❤
Thank you so much! I appreciate that!
I'm a great fan of lace and ribbons, as well as beautiful floral fabrics, so these two items ticked all my boxes! Stunning pieces, well done! ✨️
Ah, love it! Thank you so much!!
Love the lace trim on the skirt! It was a little hard to see the ribbon detail on the lace of the top, but it’s probably lovely in person. Congratulations on your two pretty new garments!
The top is gorgeous! The fabric is so pretty, and I love the embellishments you've added, too.
Your mum is right; you don't need that many patterns. It's so satisfying to be creative with what you have. You've done such great job here.
Thank you so much! I find it so rewarding to rework patterns!
Beautiful and feminine garments. You look lovely in your creations Lauren. 👌
Thank you so very much!
They’re both so lovely! I love how the trims really elevate a garment and make it unique ❤
I took a lunch break to watch this video and you did not disappoint. Love, love, loved it all! I’m always excited when you’re on summer break because of the extra beautiful content you put out. Thank you for being you. Your family are blessed to have you.❤
This is so so kind Angela, thank you for spending your time with me!
These are so beautiful 😍 thank you so much for doing this video! This skirt pattern is exactly what I've been looking for! Elastic waists are where it's at! I love your videos. Thank you for creating them so we can learn from you
Thank you so much Yvette! So happy it was what you were looking for-- I'm all about the comfortable skirts this summer. Happy sewing!
Both items are beautiful! And I am totally going for elastic waists. Having lost 25 pounds, so many of my favourite skirts with fixed waists no longer fit, but I am, at least, able to alter the elastic waists, thank goodness. I think everything I make now will be elastic or wrap. Life often brings altering waistlines (stress over breast cancer, in my case), and being able to adjust one's clothing is a great benefit - plus, its comfortable!
Your skirt and top are sooooo cute! I love the way you put things together and I love watching you actually sewing! Thank you for sharing this lovely video❤
Thank you so much Patricia!! Appreciate you watching!
Both of your skirts are lovely. Your tank top looks very professional. 👏👏👏
The top is gorgeous! I love it and it looks lovely on you.
You're so kind, thank you so much!!
Ahhhh, I love them both Lauren!! I too have elastic skirts on my list to make this summer and I’m hoping to use your measuring technique to make my own!! Also, I’m totally team “don’t fret about matching up the floral prints” 😅🫶🏻 I adore how you wove the ribbon through the lace trim, adding that to my list of things to add to pieces because trim for LIFE on homemade sewing projects!!
Thank you so much Tayt!!! I’ve been loving the trim on your recent projects! SO pretty!!
@@LaurenJohnson - Aww, thank you!! I can hardly make a project without it now 🤭
I love the proportion of the maxi dress. The ratio of gathers at your waist, the increase in gathers at the ruffle, and the placement of the ruffle in relation to the skirt portion is perfect! Can you share more precise ratios? TIA 👏
Lovely... beautiful detail.
These pieces are both so beautiful! Definitely going to have to check out the collection
Yesss you will love it! Thank you dear!
I am obsessed! Totally giving me gunne sax vibes.
Ah thank you Heather!! I lovvveee Gunne Sax!
Love the stripped floral so much. My mother had that patterned nightgown. Lovely retro fabric.
How lovely, thank you so much for sharing Sally!
That's wonderful ! I just wish I could have had a teacher like you in my younger days.
These outfits are so preety. Do you think a woman of 59 could wear these ?
If not, well never mind. I will still make these for my daughter and daughter in law.
I subbed. It's never too late to sew something beautiful.
Sweetheart I’m 67 and I wear what I want. Tank tops and jeans skirts and dresses. We only live once. Get comfortable with yourself. Enjoy
@@debbie845 Thank you for your encouraging words !
You can definitely wear this style! I am about your age and feel it's better to look nice than to follow trends. Her outfit feels feminine and classic too.
I'm 64 and would definitely wear these! I LOVE cottagecore, and one of the benefits of getting older is having the confidence to wear what pleases me. I have lots of pretty, tiered and ruffled skirts and dresses!
You look charming in these new items.
Thank you so much!
Such lovely pieces Lauren and as always a joy to watch the process …. And that garden party print is definitely on my To Buy list. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Thank you so much!! I hope you love it if you get it!
I think that’s a great tip that you shared from your mom regarding not having to amass a collection of patterns but rather hack them. It can be very tempting to buy all of the things. As a new desist, it’s sometimes hard to identify the differences or similarities between patterns and know whether or not you can make do with what you have. Possible video idea?
I recently watched a video you did with the McCalls 8181. I’m going to use that pattern to try and make a top very similar to the one you just made in this video.
Thank you so much! I love that-- I'll add that to my video idea list!
I love the top you are wearing now
Thank you!!
Two lovely garments. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you so much Bridget!
As always, beautiful creations and great video! ❤
Thank you so much Chloe! You are so kind!
You have crafted two lovely summer garments. Your sewing is beautiful. Enjoy your summer. We are in winter but so far it is very mild. Lynda
Thank you so much Lynda! I hope your winter continues to be mild!
The skirt and lace at the bottom is my favorite!
Thank you so much!! I love it!
They are both lovely! I just found you so of course I subscribed! Thank you!
So kind! Thank you so much!! 🩷🩷
I love both of these! Very cute. I especially love the tank. Especially the neckline and straps with the added details. You have inspired me to make something similar. The silhouette is very flattering
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy making your version!!
I love them both, but that tank top is just precious!
Thank you so much!!
So cute and pretty ❤ I love flowers
Thank you so much! Same here!
You are so clever, it fits so well. Lovely outfits
your filming style is sooo cute 🎞️
Aww thank you so much!! That means a lot! 🩷
They are beautiful! ❤
Thank you so much Kathryn!
❤ your new makes.
Thank you so much Kandice!!
Love your fabric choice and patterns! Following you! ❤
Thank you so much!! 🩷
When my pattern matching doesn't work out I remind myself that most ready-to-wear is not matched up at all, and nobody notices or cares!
What a well done garment and style!
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful work!
Lovely makes 😊
Thank you so much Anita!
I’ve never click so fast on a video!
Ahh thank you so much!!
Beautiful skirt!!!
Thank you so much!!
I have that McCalls 8177 as well & ❤ it to pieces 😊👍🏾
It’s so versatile!! Thank you for watching! 🩷
Love the top!!
Thank you so much!! I've already worn it so many times!
Great makes! I also fell in love with a song. Who is it?
Hello! I'm so impressed by your ability to just whip up garments like this! I absolutely love the top! I really like RiflePaperCo as well. But I find the 44-45" width they use makes the fabric a bit more pricey for garment sewing because you have to get more. But maybe I'm due for a treat?! Thank you!
Hello! Thank you so much! Hopefully if you do decide to treat yourself that coupon code can help out! Happy sewing!
@@LaurenJohnson Thank you Lauren!
Super cute!
Thank you so much!!
I absolutely love these outfits. I’m a sucker for lace, ribbons and ruffles. Beautiful. Don’t ever let anyone criticize your work it’s absolutely stunning. Thank you for the video
You’re so kind Debbie, thank you so much! 🩷
Omggg sooo cute!
Ahh thank you so much!!
I wish I could be sewing a top like you made but I'm out of sewing/knitting action for the next 6-8 weeks. I fell & broke my arm. Loved watching you make it tho.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Traci! ❤️🩹
The skirt is great, and the top is fantastic! A tip is to reverse the zipper next time. That way the top will open at the crotch point and it will be easier to wear! Also, you cut this design of fabric very well!I really like the music you put in your videos! How could I find it? Thank you so much for the great videos,I adore them!
Thank you so much! Love that tip! I get all of my music from a website called Epidemic Sound-- they create copyright free music for video creators!
Such beautiful pieces of clothing!! I love them! For the top, does the pattern call for a lining or, a facing? Just wondering if you added the lining yourself?
Thank you so much! Yes, it called for a facing, I forgot to mention that!
Hi! I really enjoy your videos. Did you use a pattern for this skirt? If so, which one?
Hi Carolyn, thank you so much! For the floral skirt I didn't, but for the white skirt I used Simplicity 9750, and just posted a video with the details.
What pattern pieces did you use for the bodice? I have the same pattern and would love to use it to make this blouse, but it looks to have a sweetheart neckline and yours is square.
I forgot to mention that I cut the neckline straight across to eliminate the sweetheart! Thanks so much for pointing that out, and thank you for watching!
Both items look gorgeous. I was wondering how you attached the lining with the straps already sewn on. It seems like they would get caught. Maybe not ? I can’t work it out , poor sewing brain fog xx
Thank you so much! I placed the straps face down on the top, and basted them in place first, then then I stitched across the top with the lining in place, they are caught in that seam. Think of this pattern as a strapless top, so the straps are caught in the seam of the lining and outside. I hope this makes sense!
Do you have a certain amount of fabric you buy all the time? I always want to buy fabric, I just never know about how much to get. In case of any project.
I find for me three yards covers most projects I make, and I might end up with extra!
@@LaurenJohnson thank you so much. This helped me a lot, I just love your content and your creativity ❤
Eu não entendo nd do q vc fala😂.
Mas eu amo costurar😊
Haha thank you for watching!! And yay for sewing! 🩷
You sew on a Kenmore, I sew on a Kenmore = you get a subscriber 😊
Ahh yay! Kenmore lovers unite! So glad to have you here 🩷
Who cares how you do your notches?! If you're happy with them and it works for you, that's all that counts. Tell those notch snobs to mind their own business. lol
Haha, thank you so much! I appreciate it!
