    At this point, there's actually no real reason for me to look at a Wacom Tablet anymore - this is definitely good enough for my professional needs, and at a much more reasonable price.

    I am lucky enough to be able to have both the Huion 24" 4k and the Wacom 4k 24" I have to say yes I like the Wacom pen a tiny bit better but here is the deal breaker for the Wacom. The heat and the fan drives me crazy. I have to run the brightness at like 50% to keep the fan from running non stop. The other thing is I love I can just hook up my mounts to my Huion with a normal visa mount. After using them both now for over 6 months I have to say I gave the Wacom to my wife and I took the Huion and I am much happier with my Huion over the Wacom. I do not even remember what I did not like about this pen now that I have been using it for the last 4 months. I did Purchase them both new in the box and I have to say being a Wacom person for all these years. I have found my new Tablet with Huion. Cheers everyone. My wife loves her Wacom, but then again I don't let her play on my Huion. She always has headphones on so the loud buzzing of the fans don't bother her. I did forget one thing and it is a huge one. The bezels on the Wacom are over twice the size of the Huion which drove me crazy. Point made, Just purchase the Huion you will be happy you did!!

    Tried the Wacom. It was ok until the fan kicked in. Yes, a fan. On a monitor. What a noise. I sent it straight back. I currently have the Huron Kamvas Pro 24 1440p - been really pleased with it. Given the slight blur with any etched surface I am yet to be convinced that 4K is actually much sharper in practice (from what I saw with Wacom display), I think 1440 is good enough for 24” etched display. I would be interested to know if anyone has seen the Huron screens side by side to compare sharpness.

We're talking about $1300 USD for the huion, and $2000 USD for the cintiq 24" (and thats not even the touch version; that adds another freaking $500). That's a 50% price increase if you want to go for wacom, for a relatively small difference in quality.

    I might just go with Huion's 24" 4k for this one instead of Wacom's 24" 4k.
    Some of the things Brad didn't mention were that Huion's display has a higher contrast ratio than Wacom's display. Huion's ratio is 1200:1 while Wacom's 1000:1. Although both displays support 1.07B color Huion's color gamut is slightly better. Huion has 102% Adobe rgb while Wacom has 99% Adobe rgb. Huion's response time(10ms) is also faster than Wacom's(14ms).
    The only spec where Wacom outperforms Huion would have to be brightness. Wacom's brightness is 350cd/m^2 and Huion's brightness is 220cd/m^2. (I personally don't care since I work in a dim-lit setting.)
    Overall I love Wacom for their quality and feel but I'm going to have to choose Huion for its overall better specs and price.

      Just wanna chime-in on my Wacom Cintiq 24 pro 4k experience. Wacom's Display panel is just really bad compared to the competitors now. Back light bleed is really bad and the response time is just really slow (especially once u get used to using displays with really fast reponse times)
      Colors are bad and for a 2.5k USD drawing tablet it really is disappointing and honestly I don't really see any justification on buying the Cintiq over the Huion unless you love Wacom or you prefer wacom drivers. I've also had a bad experience with Wacom drivers crashing and not saving my preferences.
      Hopefully wacom fixes it for the new models but yea I felt like I threw $2500 down the drain.

    • @tested211
      @tested211 Год назад

      I've found with the Cintiq pros that I never wanted to run them at full brightness anyway: It's a bit too harsh if you're working on a light or white background and the fans go into overdrive if you turn the brightness up high.
      Strangely, there might be an advantage in having a dimmer screen like the Huion. If the display uses PWM for backlight dimming (I don't know about the Huion but I've read that the Cintiq pro line uses PWM) The more you turn the brightness down, the more flickering you're going to get.... So if both displays use PWM then it could be better for your eyes to get a dimmer display and use it at close to maximum than a brighter display with the brightness turned down.

    • @LeflairZone
      @LeflairZone 11 месяцев назад

      Using a Wacom Cintiq Pro 24" since 2019 or so I'll add that the fan (to support that high brightness) is starting to act up, and I've manually had it at slow speed since the beginning to not wear on it.
      I've only used one of the lower budget 16" Huions, which did have some jitter issues and didn't handle any sort of fast hatching well at all. It's this that makes it a bit hard to evaluate Huions from reviews like Colbows, as I've not found many reviewers that use/test these screens in an actual "analog inking" fashion with more advanced textured brushes.

    You mentioned the resolution and the ports but you didn't mention how much you can do with each port and how well does it perform? I know it can do 4k60hz but can it do that in HDMI and USB-type A or only in usb-C? How does it do around the edges which is where EMR has trouble? What about tilt? What about performance in different programs or OS (if possible)? Etc.
    Just saying but an 10min review (1min sponsorship) to just read and check the content of the box and show how it performs in lines alone, in the middle of the screen, in photoshop alone, feels a little... Lacking. I'd appreciate a more extensive review, mind you, at least for a product of this scale.

Would you say it is worth the upgrade to move to the display in this review? Is there much of an appreciable difference in performance, display, and quality? I'm having a little buyer's remorse seeing the new display. Thanks for letting us know about all of the cool toys for creative professionals!

    • @ohshiet6726
      @ohshiet6726 3 года назад +9

      It's not worth the upgrade, so keep what you have.
      QHD (1440p) is good enough. Infact, it should be the new standard for all of these HD (1080p) monitors. UHD (4K) on a Pen Display is overkill. Not only it doubles your power wattage consumption connected to your computer, but it also depends on the type of Graphics Card you're using.
      You have a perfect balance of screen, and clarity. 4K is not really much of a jump, nor the hype. So you all good.

      @@melekaynaci624 @Koniotaur hi guys i just wanted to give you some quick feedback on the KAMVAS Pro 24 4k after 3 months. I love it, to be honest with you, now I have the 24, I wish I had of bought the 24 first, but you don't know what you don't know at the time. For me personally the K Pro 16 display was too small, As I am used to a 43" 4k display for my PC screen and design work. So the 24" fits the bill perfectly. The Colours are gorgeous, very vibrant and bright, (the Quantum Dot display technology really helps in this area) and the 4k Res is crystal clear. The PW517 Pen works great, its fast, accurate, no lag and no parallax, the IPS fully laminated display really helps this. I have mounted it on a Locktek DLB511 Gas Monitor Arm, and it handles it well, much easier to move around, landscape, portrait and tilted for drawing and painting. I also use the K Pro 24" as a second display for graphic design, videos etc and it looks great, it has not missed a beat so far.
      One thing I would like to mention, is that after a bit of research I decided to go with the Single Thunderbolt 3 Cable with the USB-C connectors as that gives me plenty of data bandwidth headroom with 40Gbps, 100watt Power Delivery already built in and Display Port v1.4+ supported instead of the HDMI 3 in 1 cable solution that Huion provides, It's a cleaner solution and take the confusion out of making sure you have the correct USB=C Specced cable, Because they're not all the same, and Huion recommends and supports Thunderbolt 3 as well. If you go with the USB-C std cable, just make sure you use the Minimum USB 3.2 Gen 1 / USB-C cable which runs at 5 Gbps which is the minimum the K Pro 24 needs for 4k. The new USB name is now called: (SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps) and to be safe for your Kamvas electronics make sure it is a Certified USB-C cable, so it does not short out the circuits which is what nearly happened to me with a cheaper cable, that's why I went straight to a Thunderbolt 3 certified cable, it solves all 3 problems and future proofs you. Hope that helps. and all the best for 2022, stay safe. cheers Kev Borg

    nice, i've been eyeballing this one, as well as XP-Pen's new Artist Pro 16TP (4K and touch?) - i hope we'll see your opinion on the 16TP too! the thing with 16TP that gives me pause is the screen's slower response time (30ms, sounds iffy next to the more typical 14ms) so i'm curious to see if that's noticeable in reviews

      While I haven't seen the Huion, the panel is a QLED which is closer to OLED than more traditional, backlit IPS panels. (The Wacom Pro 24 is IPS which compared to other panels has better color accuracy over other backlit panels like VA, but not as good of contrast as VA) It's a whole thing, the monitor panel realm..

I’m not 100% sure it’s the drivers or the cables that I’m using, which are not the provided cables because those were too short. I’m going to go grab some new cables (4k HDMI and USB C 3.1), and see if that improves the situation. Also, I’ve had the remote thingy on the charger since I set it up today. I never would have dreamed that would cause driver issues, so thanks for mentioning that.

It’s annoying, but not a big deal. The Huion is fantastic for digital painting. I love the size and the smaller bezel. I almost never use the remote. I use a TourBox Elite instead. The monitor brightness is a huge improvement over my old Cintiq, but it’s still not as bright as I would like. Mind you I’m comparing to the incredibly bright monitor of the iMac Pro 2017. The colors of the Huion are great, though. I think they are slightly more accurate than my iMac or my 27” Dell monitor.

  • @jeffriart
    @jeffriart 3 года назад +2

    Wacom really need to step up their game. Their competitor is no longer Wacom-alternative at this point and they even start to get the slice of Wacom Cintiq Pro line.
    I quite like their move to make affordable pen display in the Wacom One and regular Cintiq line, but not having laminated display these days is a huge oversight, especially the Cintiq. And not only that, even the Cintiq Pro, is currently missing the 13/16-inch option as their previous flagship has been discontinued...
    I'm a big fan of Wacom... but it's hard to justify getting the regular Cintiq right now, and going the big Pro line is too expensive for a hobbyist.
    That said, Wacom seems to have a longer product cycle though. So I guess it'll be a while before we see an upgrade to their current line up.

    Personally, I'm not a fan of thin bezels on a pen display. For example, for right-handed people, it is difficult to be accurate as you near the right-hand edge of the display as your hand falls away off the edge. I notice it most when I am activating small buttons on the Adobe panels for example, or the panel fly-out menus when you really need to be really precise. I would expect that left-handed people would likely experience the same issue down the left side of the pen display while accessing tools in the toolbar although probably to a lesser degree as the targets for the tools are a a bit larger. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

    I think the touch sensitivity missing is actually a big deal for a lot of people. Not just me.
    Before drawing digital I used to use a 16 field animation disk to draw. Started out in animation, but the rotating disk was very helpful for comics and general drawing. I even kept rotating the my sketchbook to get better curves.
    Then when I got my iPad besides learning pinch to zoom, even early apps I think brushes was the first to introduce it, had two finger rotate. It was soooo much smoother than on Photoshop!
    Now I work with a Cintiq too, I couldn’t draw without this feature.

    Hi Brad,
    Sorry for posting late. I have a question on the general mechanics of mounting a Kamvas 24 Pro 4k.
    It looks like the back of the screen is different from the Kamvas 24 Pro 2k.
    I'm wondering if you can comment on the stiffness of the screen. (Test by attaching the screen at the vesa mount and have it floating in the air. Then press on the outside corners of the screen. How squishy is it?)
    I've tested the Cintiq Pro 24, XP Pen 24 Pro QHD and the Huion Kamvas 24 Pro 2k.
    - The Cintiq 24 Pro is stiff.
    - The XP Pen Pro 24 QHD is a much softer.
    - The Huion Kamvas 24 Pro 2k, (is like a wet noodle) it does a LOT of bending.
    Has Huion stiffened up the back of their screen for this model?
