The thing about that tho is you don’t have to open your wallet even once to get all the content. Besides if you do decide to use real money it’s basically only cosmetics that you would use money on. I have the game & while it isn’t anything special at all I’ve been able to unlock everything without spending money literally once. That’s a huge misconception people have about this game & it’s parroted by literally everyone instead of looking into things personally for yourself

@@jyetaylor6898 right like I havent spent a diem and have so many skins its kinda shitty people are coming at it for the least offensive thing in this game with all the other problems that exist with it. especially since alot of these same clowns put money into overwatch every event and even worse WoW. its just sounds really bitchmade in comparison. there's more important things to worry about the most proconsumer microstransction system in the last 10 years is not one of them.
One of the absolute worst things about Marvel not having the movie rights of the X-Men was them trying too hard to get people to forget about them by turning the Inhumans into X-Men like characters.

This game felt like Square Enix took all the parts of Destiny that everyone hates and made it the entire game, removing all the good bits that made Destiny kind of fun.

It’s pretty obvious many people gave this game a pass purely because it’s a Marvel property, and the game’s publishers knew that and took advantage of it. Remove the Marvel skin, and this game is essentially Anthem 2.0

I say its still better than anthem as we have content to grind for after the game is over. I'm not defending the game at all this was a huge disappointment to me. I was really waiting to fill the void that Marvel Heroes Omega left and I was hoping this would be THE marvel game. It sucks to be a marvel fan on xbox and I shouldn't have to buy a Ps4 to have a great marvel game.
No one gave it a pass for that. That's your opinion. People like the combat and the builds you can make in this game. But I guess it's easy to be bias and make assumptions nowadays instead of being fair.
Well obviously that's not true because:
1) Many people (including myself) thought the game just looked really fun to play, mainly when they started showcasing those monthly War Table streams
2) Speaking more on the first point, *everyone* was too busy talking about how the marketing on this game was terrible (myself included) that there's no way we somehow gave the game a "pass" to begin with. Only when they started to actually market their game (like 2-3 months before release), people started to get onboard with this game (myself included as well)

I honestly would have preferred a street level open world game where you play as Daredevil, Luke Cage or Iron Fist and basically take the Open World Spiderman game structure with similar upgrading mechanics. Having a character like Hulk or Thor and not feeling like a fun powerhouse sinks the gameplay alot for me.
Or hell, another punisher game would be cool too.
Damn dude Daredevil would have been so freaking auditory it wouldn't have even been funny and then they could try for I don't know blind accessibility on a real game instead of the whatever it was we got what's left of us part two business it would have actually probably had a good storyline and everything and actually had a blind character in it I don't know I'm just an audio gamer and I think that would be cool if they made a blind accessible Daredevil game properly.. like you'd be playing daredevil on blind settings so you'd actually playing like a blind man in a full 3d audio surround sound world that, would be cool. The right audio games are super immersive with the right headphones.

QTE's should be done with completely. They are the most shallow and lazy feeling of an attempt at interactive gameplay. It's something from the old days of arcade games that needs to go away.
The car chases in Spider-Man PS4, at that QTE moment when Spidey is carrying the car. I could never finish that part in time. I am constantly failing it and the car always fall on me. Like bruh. 😂

Playing as Hulk was the thing I was most looking forward to, after playing Hulk in this game I've come to the conclusion that I GREATLY miss Ultimate Destruction.

This game is just some crappy version of Ultimate Alliance. The stupidest thing is that there are only three recognizable villains in the entire game and they’re all treated badly. Taskmaster was a loser, Abomination shows up out of nowhere and becomes MODOK’s whipping boy for some reason, and MODOK himself was just uninteresting. I get they were trying to make him sympathetic but his motivations just get more and more incomprehensible as the game goes on and the part where he calls himself MODOK for no reason is really stupid. The versions of him in Iron-Man Armored Adventures, Avengers EMH, and Avengers Assemble are way better. Overall, this is one of the most mediocre superhero games to come out in recent years.
Completely agree. The MCU has completely ruined Marvel. All its heroes have become really boring and predictable and its villains are either dumb jokes or have stupid one-note motivations. Even worse is that all other media including the comics feel the need to copy it. I would hope it gets retconned out of existence at some point but it doesn’t seem likely.

“OR A BOOMER”. You crack me up. I think while I have a generally more positive outlook, I agree with pretty much all of your points. Very fair and nuanced take.
I think gameplay wise, Iron man and Thor but specifically Iron Man breaks this game. The fact that you can't freely fly in all directions at mach speed looks frustrating because the stages have to be built to accommodate other characters that can't do that. It ends up feeling stifled because no character is pushed to thier individual limits and thier unique skills isn't used in interesting ways.
This game is that 20 something year old guy who's jacked up on motivation and tries to develop ten different skills at once but never masters any and ends up a failure.
Gotham Knights already looks better. They even showed gameplay at the first reveal.

The Asuras Wrath route of QTE’s definitely works. Either instant death or you take health damage for any events after the QTE with a unique animation in which the enemy lands an attack on you instead.

I hate the avengers disbanding because of this like would a police force disband because a group of people died because of a serial killer no, collateral will happen when you have super powered beings.
It's because it was technically thier fault in the story, and they also were careless with the power generator or whatever it was.

They made a semi-open world multiplayer action RPG.
I actually would love if this got a sequel, so that they can iron out the issues. With environments so big, there 100% SHOULD be areas only certain characters can reach.
Like, maybe alternate paths that only Thor or Iron Man can reach, or have breakable walls that the Hulk can just Kool-Aid Man his way through.

If anything this Marvel's Avengers game shows a solo superhero game with these characters can be done implementing their combat/powers from this game with a great storyline, amazing Boss Battles and tight gameplay mechanics on the level of The Batman Arkham series or Insomniac's Spiderman.

GaaS was not the right call for an Avengers game. It should've been like a hybrid of the coop mechanics of Ultimate Alliance with the progressive RPG elements of games like Final Fantasy XV that incentivized getting better gear and items that were actually worth a damn.

What’s interesting is that god of war also follows that basic outline of light, heavy, special move, ranged etc, but something in that game really really makes it work.

I won’t lie. Knowing insomniac it would’ve probably been good, but we don’t know. I think we’re lucky to have this one. It has some good ideas that can definitely be built upon. Just my opinion though
I have never paid for DLC or made a micro-transaction in a game. Ten or twelve years ago, you used to go to a shop, buy a disc, and the entire game was on the disc. Anything you didn't have to begin with was still on there, you just unlocked it. I still play that way - either I can unlock it or I'm not getting it.

Actually...yeah. It is a better version of avengers. Each class has a specific thing that they’re good at (except spy) and like you said, the robots are way more interesting and varied. How did a relatively gamemode from 2012 made for a game from 2007 manage to be better than a 2020 aaa $60 game staring THE AVENGERS?

Seeing what you said about QTEs, I highly recommend that you try the Yakuza series. The QTEs in these games are probably the best I've experience and really makes every combat encounter more frantic and brutal

I am very disappointed in this game so far, I mean yes they literally just added this update but the only thing that was really highlighted that they did was that they made u be able to sprint in outposts and being able to access other outpost data in a different outpost. SO WHAT! “Oh I think we can have hope now that this game can get better now that they fixed two small things” bruh! It’s sad because you can tell the devs love the characters and avengers. But I feel like the higher ups wanted stuff like the live service elements and other weird stuff. I would've been more interested in a game featuring a single character than one game featuring them all. Because they're all invariably going to end up feeling the same, the resources required to create 6 distinctive play styles is just too absurd.
There are plenty of Marvel games where you can play as an assortment of various character. But aside from Spider-Man there aren't any video game dedicated to a particular character and what makes them special

I guess I've been lucky and never had experience any super annoying bugs. The only bug I've experienced is that one of the outfits for Cap made his face look like play doh.

After the final update somehow there are still annoying bugs. Hulk v Abomination’s boss fight’s first room you can literally go out of the map and because of the way the fight is it’s impossible to fight him properly 😂
I feel that this should’ve just been an Iron Man game, his gameplay DID get what A LOT of treatment.

Graphics isn't everything. Game designers dont seem to get that. If anything lower graphics allows for better gameplay and way more items, freedom, and mechanics and makes split screen multiplayer easy and not laggy. Just look at terria, minecraft, and most ps2, gamecube games like timesplitters

If they actually made different models for the alternate costumes, it might, MIGHT, have been worth trying to get the costumes. Like imagine playing as Silver Centurion Iron Man or Thunderstrike Thor. Could've been kinda cool
They will add More suff so hopefully they will fix the bad stuff and add more good stuff so by the end it may be a pretty good game.

I think just looking at Spider-Man costume system compared to avengers speaks so much about both games.
If it was a solo adventure and not live service game, this would’ve been huge.

3 pages of skill tree, collecting gear pieces, upgrading stuff and grinding for "skin" upgrades just made me tap out 1/2 way into campaign
Also, Lego Marvel Superheroes is INFINITELY more fun with tons of playable characters/team set ups and abilities

18:42 as a character designer, concept artist, and comic artist myself, I actually do like that suit. Has clear primary and secondary design focus, and the filler designs aren’t distracting except for the black lines on his biceps.
Personally simplicity in design is great, however when people think detailed = bad, isn’t exactly the case. As long as the detail doesn’t detract from the primary and secondary focus. All those other suits though you showed, I have no idea WHAT the primary or secondary is, they just look randomly put together without any sort of flow in mind.
Now I’m not a fan of the trend where people put lines on suits in comics recently, but I don’t find them offensive, because it’s not like the artist are thinking they are ground breaking, I do find drawing them kinda fun. I think as long as those lines are JUST filler and don’t get in the way of the flow of the design, then it’s fine. I’m not a fan but I don’t think it devalues an artist skill or talents.
Doing designs like the Spider-Man design where they have the line that separates the blue from the red does a spike on the shoulder outline, the chest outline, and the forearm outline, THAT interrupts the flow and I hate it. I actually prefer Ultimate Spider-Man show design where they removed the sleeve entirely over having it and just spiking it, because at least then the flow is still there and clear.
