Hey Lucas. I have a 2023 B2601 that I love. Before that I had a BX2230 for well over 10 years. I would love to sell mine and step up to a LX3520. I have the third function and 2 rear remotes and the mechanical self leveling kit along with a hydraulic top link and some more add ons. Basically every option you can put on the B2601. I absolutely love this tractor but after learning the capabilities of this thing I need one a little bit bigger. I have started taking on small jobs for neighbors and folks at church. A grapple is a must have. I would recommend going one size bigger than what you think you will need. The LX loader can lift close to 300 lbs more than the B2601. If you add a 250lb grapple you lose 250lbs of lift. You might want to consider this with your sawmill work. Wish you luck and I enjoy watching your channel. Keep up the good work.
Good info. Honestly, I just don’t think Kubota has an entry that will work for my needs and budget. You have to step all the way up to an MX5400 to get the same lift as many of the other manufacturers get out of their 25hp Full size compacts. I’ve looked at the L and LX. I wish they would work for me, but they aren’t really even competitive in lift.
I also have a B2601 it is the right tractor for me. But you’re right on lift. Kubota does fall short on the loaders lift capacity. I will end up putting a shim kit in at some point. Good luck. I will miss the things you do with that BX. 😂😢
I agree with his assessment that the BX doesn’t feel as refined as other tractors the low rpm vibration is bad but at least it goes away at operating speed. I have a BX2350 and a big B size B3200 and the difference in operation in those two are night and day.
Very informative bys and it makes me feel good about the tractor i picked for my size property as i said before its a bx 2680 so far i'm impressed with what it does the winter and snow blowing will be a big test.Lucas if i ever get a mill which i don't need it would be the only reason i would move up as of now your tractor is being pushed hard lifting wood you need to move up ole buddy i think your makin the right decision.
Get one a size bigger (more power) than what you think you need at the current time. I bought a new 2006 Kubota L2800 HST and it does 98% of what I need it to do. It’s easy to get on/off, drive and trailer but there are times when I wish I would have gotten the next size up and a cab. Having ac here in Florida would be great.
You might want to take a look at a Kioti CK 20SE series. It comes standard with two sets of rear remotes and is prewired for a true third function kit which is an option. Also the color would closely match some of your current implements and attachments. 😉
I really like that machine! I likely won’t step up high enough for the SE version, but the CK2620 is definitely in the running. Stay tuned for a video on it soon.
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomesteadI have the CX2510. Upgraded from BX about a year ago. It’s a small footprint but great lift capacity. Like 1100#, which is way more than Kubota B or JD2025.
Hey Lucas, I was struggling with lift for my 2380. I upped the pressure to 1,950 and switched out the cylinders to HydrosPlus. Made a huge difference, 33% + 10%; you might check it out. My set up is much smaller so I’m where I am satisfied. Good luck.
@@craigguinn5423 yeah I was going that route, but I’ve bent a few things and am causing some issues that make me think I just need to step up and then keep the BX for the smaller jobs…
The Kubota MX5200 feels fairly big with the loader on it and surprising small with the loader off. It’s better mowing with the loader off. With its bigger wheels and axels it’s a fairly capable machine. Later on if funds permit we might buy a BX with turf tyres. We’d use it for mowing with a finish mower on the back and the loader for little jobs.
Get the TYM 2515 already. 💸 I've heard that it has a detuned 35+ HP engine on it and you can get the missing ponies back with a fuel pump adjustment. That's what I would do. 😎
That is true. It is also true of several other machines in that class. I’m going to go through and review each one I’m considering before I pony up the cash! 👊
Also, my buddy upgraded from a BX to a 3901, big difference when we run them side by side. For my little plot, I’m fine. I did punch the pressure to 1,950 and swapped out the lift cylinders to HydrosPlus. I built a lightweight grapple 155#, and I can pick up a 14” log about 8’ without a struggle.
Yeah the BX does great for that size work. I was doing well in the beginning, but my logs are getting bigger and I have some other upgrades coming. I am just outgrowing it for lift capacity. I’ve definitely been pleased with the BX though.
A major concern of what you buy is how close the dealer is and the availability of service and parts, ergo the major brands being a little more organized in the supply chain. Also, what is the lift ability on the loader and the 3 point for any tractor you select. Still look at the 45 to 50 hp range, and customize it for your needs. May cost a bit more but it will be yours for decades or more. For example if Kubota, order iron wheels not steel to get more weight on the rear end. Dealers stock the steel cause its cheaper.
Good vid, if you are going to a full size- look at the TYM with 25hp. No emissions, and the lift capactity is unmatched by any other tractor. You have big logs going on the mill so that is what you need IMHO. Price it out and get a huge bang for the buck if you ask me.
They are definitely the lift king. I am looking at the Kioti and LS as well because they are close on lift. I honestly just can’t believe that to lift a ton with a Kubota you gotta step all the way up to an MX5400. 🤷🏼♂️
Good video Lucas and Brad! I differ from whoever has been telling you in the comments that you talk too much. I know that it's just my personal opinion, but I enjoy hearing an intelligent explanation when I'm trying to learn and gather information. I know that you're leaning towards the TYM as a replacement for your BX, probably because of the videos that Brock and Tony have done about the 25HP TYM, and their positive input about it? I'm NOT going to try to talk you out of that, as I almost bought a TYM when I bought my Kioti, and think that the TYM makes a great machine. But I would encourage you to actually TRY some of the other brand of CUTs out there as well. Is your goal to stay under the 26HP threshold on whichever machine you get so that you don't have to deal with emissions, or are you willing to go over that? I think TYM and Kioti's have very similar lift capacities in both their FEL's and 3pts, don't they? I guess my point is that I encourage you to keep an open mind, and try several different brands before landing on one spot. You (and most of us) know that as far as lift capacities for their size, the South Korean brands of tractors lift quite a bit more than Kubota and Deere. I wish you luck in finding the machine that's right for your future uses.
Thanks for this comment! I actually intend to do a video on each tractor as I consider them. I am going trying to save up to pay outright so this may take me a few more months anyway…. I actually visited the Kioti dealer yesterday so stay tuned!
