    Great. I would add, buy a 2 and something thick boards, something hard like maple, 10-14 inch wide, at least 9 feet long. Say 3-4 boards. Then resaw all of them by hand (you can use both hands by the way).

    By all means, go into the workshop and build something. But please, don't confuse that activity with exercise; it's not. In fact, without regular full body exercise, working in the shop with hand tools is likely to lead to overuse injuries because certain muscles get a lot of exercise and sympathetic muscles don't.

      Yes, cardiovascular excercise is important. But save your money and walk to the gym, turn around and walk home!
