    LEDS beind the glass is a great idea. I'm slightly worried that you'll introduce the LEDs to the signal path of the guitar and it'll buzz. But if it does the answer is simple, do exactly what you did but with a stereo jack socket - signal one side, LEDS the other.

      I was going to suggest a stereo jack as well. Active basses use them the same way. When the jack isn’t in, the preamp isn’t powered. When it’s plugged in, the connection between the battery and preamp is made, and the preamp is powered.

    That was pretty finicky! Well done, mate! If the LEDs do introduce noise, I would use a volume pot with a switch. That keeps it completely separate.

      We’ll see what happens, I’ve only heard of issues if the wires touch so I’ll be sure to wrap them 👍
