I prefer your content waaaay more then the other click baity channels who copied you. The least amount of crap on a thumbnail the better. Keep doing what you’re doing.
I went through this inlet as an 18 yr old kid on a 14' Hobie Power Skiff with a 40 hp Mariner outboard! All the guys on the big fishing boats coming in were waving me back and I didn't know why at the time, then I got into the big swells and like to crap my britches!! But the old power skiff handled it like a champ! Wish I still had that little boat!!
Those Vikings handle this surf better than any other boat. They are TRUE deep see vessels from the way their bow has such a wide flare. To their sheer weight. They move through these swells like bulldozers. Plus, the cat diesel engines many of them have.
They aren’t as deep V as you think. And most custom Carolina boats have a sharper entry and more forward flare. The strong point of the Vikings is interior fit and finish. No Carolina boat I’ve been aboard can come close. If you ever get a chance to board a 60’ they outfitted some with beautiful walnut interiors. Impressive by any standards Cheers
great vid for anyone who doesn't understand about tidal movements and effects on different boats, watching a 50ft 1000hp boat get stuck in a hole is great..love ya work
Love the video, and I love the nasty waves! I may be an odd duck, but I really like that Island Boat Works 34 @ 2:08. Just seems like a cute little mini convertible!
Back in my high-school days we went here all the time. We rented jet skis one time and went out here it was scary as hell passing all these big boats on the tiny jet ski, and the waves were about the same! Miss that beach!
Agreed! There was a lot of skill on display here today. Just imagine about half the folks you see at the helm of a boat down at somewhere like Haulover in conditions like this! Love watching these guys stride their way through with a very challenging ebb tide entry.
These captains clearly know what they are doing - unlike some of the day-boaters at Haulover LOL. I would love to see these guys going through Haulover on a rough day, just for comparison :)
Those are not easy conditions to navigate through. Interesting to see the line most of them took getting thru. Maybe follow the guy in front but tricky none the less. Great job.
Thanks, not easy at all, it looks less severe because, for the most part, all the captains in this video are charter captains or tournament captains with experience and skill.
Not for nothing..but these are Real Captains on board..! What is seen in Miami's Haulover Inlet are a bunch of Rookies and/or Rich people with absolutely no experience navigating in choppy seas.. Thank u for the footage.
Rock N Roll right back into OC Inlet! The boaters love going through there and they are not afraid either. Me, I would be laid out on the floor with a bucket right next to me. Just take me to Seacrets please!!! (I used to live there from 1999 to 2004, now in Florida for 15 years.)
Love the vid. I do have one request though. Once in a while could you zoom in on a sailing vessel? They ride these conditions completely differently than the powerboats. And can be interesting to watch as well. Thanks for your efforts. They are appreciated.
Wish you zeroed in on that sailboat going in with just his mainsail up, looked like he was doing ok with his small auxiliary going, certainly tough conditions for him! Really great video!!
I see why small craft advisory is for boats 33ft and under because even those 28ft cc look small in those waves. Only the 35ft and up actually look comfortable out there
My boat is the 27ft CC at the 1:42 mark. I was puckered tight :-) But I was patient and kept the bow up. There is definitely a trick to it with a smaller boat.
1:19 - is that sever bow steer on the Judge 34 or the Operating turning hard to Port? I’m presuming bow steer as I believe this is a low deadrise boat with a sharp entry.....
Please could anybody give me some more info' on the Island Boat Works 34 in Blue @2:07? She looks superb and would love to more about the builder and similar models.
Love seeing those boats blow through the waves like that but with all the traffic there the speeds seem kind of high. Then again, I guess they have to go faster than the waves coming in. Those people on wave runners you see at times better keep close watch.
The steep waves you see are created by the long period ocean swells encountering shallow water over the shoals and the outbound tidal flow, and throw in the large boat wakes refracting off the inlet rock pile.
Not sure if it was just my phone, but the titles were almost cropped off the bottom of frame. PS sailing vessels and displacement hulls are way more interesting in this type of running out tide and ocean swell.
Camera really flattens out the waves on video due to it not having good depth perception. Those who have filmed bad conditions know just how much it knocks things down. Those who don't have no idea just how snotty that inlet is here. That was some dirty water right there. That being said there was plenty of examples of guys who knew how to run that water and make it look easy on this day. Some of your best footage yet... except the days you happened to catch my buddies and I lol.
Great way to start a Friday morning! NASTY What? NAH !! That's a calm day in the OC Inlet !! HAHA. Pucker Up and Hold On !!! Quality on the videos are fantastic ZipZap.. Are you color grading these? Your still uploading in 1080 right ?
thanks! it's all perspective, for OC i hear this is a rough normal, a little messy for sure... for Florida, imho, this is crazy.. i color grade a little, this is 4k and all the new new stuff is 4k, i still have some old new stuff in 1080 in the pipeline.
Who are these a-holes that don't like your videos? Not into quality videos of boats? If not, why tune in? Just keep doing you, Mr ZipZapPower. Haters gonna hate - screw them! And yes, pretty sloppy mess at Ocean City, MD.
Beach Boys: “Everyone was surfing, surfing USA 🎵 “ Always a tough Inlet in Ocean City, Maryland. Many boats have made mistakes in there, and paid for it. A good many boats flying White Marlin flags (some more than one) 👍
I guess thats why everyone is forever longing for larger and larger and larger vessels. No matter how big these boats are they get tossed around like corks when the conditions turn bad.
they were going to slow and riding too stable for this video, i wanted to keep the energy and pace up in this one, i'm making another video with all the big sporties at a slower pace.
Sorry if this comment was taken out of context. It was just a genuine question as I saw them all in the background. I completely agree zip zap, most people would definitely get board unless they loved the bigger boats. But everyone loves a center console flying through as it’s so exciting and interesting to watch. Again wasn’t trying to insult your videos as they’re awesome!
no worries Jake, i took it exactly as you meant it as a genuine question! thanks for being here and i'm happy you enjoy the vids! don't read too much in to Mike's comment, he can get a little snarky ;)
Some of these need new captains. Crazy trying to pass each other, no lifejackets, and while I get everyone wants to get in as quick as possible there's no need to risk it as some of these guys do.
This was filmed during the White Marlin Open fishing tournament, the flags indicate that the boat has caught a fish. There are different flags for different species and if the flag is upside down, it is to indicate that they have taken/harvested the fish, right side up indicates the fish was released (in tournament)
I try to avoid sensationalistic and hyperbolic titles, to me these waves are nasty, are they? if not, what would you title this video?
ZipZapPower looks nasty to me. My boat stays inshore on days like that
I don’t care what you call it just keep postin em lol
My boat would have sank. That was nasty
I prefer your content waaaay more then the other click baity channels who copied you. The least amount of crap on a thumbnail the better. Keep doing what you’re doing.
It all depends on the experience of the capt and size of the boat same can be said for the size of the fish caught lol.

just saw this, thanks!
Definitely a nasty day during outgoing tide.. the OC inlet can be a hairy place at time... love the video partner!
thanks!, happy you enjoy!
Most of those could give the guys at Haulover a lesson in how to run an inlet.
Zip Zap Power keeps getting better and better!!!
thanks buddy!

I’m great full that you got a marlargo in your video.. I was a part of the Jefferson boats team in Jeffersonville Indiana... great video.. much love
thanks, i think that this was my first marlago spotting.
Those captains have done that before, they got their approach down! Good one. Thanks ZAP 👊
Yes they have. All pros at this event
@@ZipZapPower seems like they run a lotta tourneys out of that harbour, nice to see.
@@ZipZapPower all fishing boats great one my cup a tea thanks

Yes!! Your best one yet IMO. Thank you for sharing!!! The raw power of moving water.
Thanks!
Ya that inlet was stacking up pretty good that day!! looking forward to seeing all those boats going out that inlet in the same conditions!!
The original and still the best! Great video as always!
Perfect! Great skills and editing. Thank you very much! The blue YF aporoaches like a tailhooker an aircraft carrier. Greetings from Germany.
It's a blast using the oc inlet in a kayak lol
That was super nice a fair on the beach that was super nice

The waves aren't the problem, it's that 20kt tide running!
yeah inlet gets like that time to time when tide is running out
Watching this from italy.
Thank you for all the video 😊
Hello! I'm happy you are here!
Watching the Vikings and Carolina Customs cut through there makes me want one---but I can barely afford snow tires.
True that ROFL 😂
Quality never comes cheap. 😉
My family never had a trust fund. Lol, maybe next time. Thanks for the video. Love watching it. 🌹

Beautiful boats and incredible waves! What else should I have expected! 👍👍

Trimaran Sailboat at 5:55 looked like it could have gotten in trouble in those conditions
Needed to go a little bit faster
Love the vid. I do have one request though. Once in a while could you zoom in on a sailing vessel? They ride these conditions completely differently than the powerboats. And can be interesting to watch as well. Thanks for your efforts. They are appreciated.
noted, and on the trip to San Diego and Newport last weekend, the sailboats were not neglected...
@@ZipZapPower and the big ships to would been nice to see more of that commercial fishing boat coming

thumbs up for the Sailboat!

Thats a strong current!!! Looks more like a river thats moving fast

Thanks, the sailboat hugged the southern jetty the whole way in, he held a very tight line for a sailboat

1:19 - is that sever bow steer on the Judge 34 or the Operating turning hard to Port? I’m presuming bow steer as I believe this is a low deadrise boat with a sharp entry.....
It's the outgoing tide making the inlet rough. Looks ok elsewhere. Cheers
Love it!

Would love to see a Freeman Just Jet through these kind of conditions like it's no problem
Viking guys just smash through everything like a beast..lol

How big do the swells get once you go offshore for white marlin? I'm going to be there in mid-June...is that on the early side of the marlin season?
The steep waves you see are created by the long period ocean swells encountering shallow water over the shoals and the outbound tidal flow, and throw in the large boat wakes refracting off the inlet rock pile.

I liked that Albemarle 32
looked ready to flop over!

What is ocmd? and why is everyone coming in at the same time?
Ocean City Maryland. I think this video is from the White Marlin Open fishing tournament.
I think that’s your boat in fort pierce your new Canyon

Not really if you know what your doing, 99% of the boats running the O C inlet, can power thru with absolutely no problems!
How the hell am I going to be able to get my small sailboat through that?
get a big paddle
Why is it that boats with two or three outboard engines can't dock without having a bow thruster? ; ^ )
Thanks for filming & no I'm not spam
I just realised that those mid console boats have horrible visibility to front when adding power. I would not like to drive something like that
More boats for sale !
This intlet must stay ruff?
Not always, outgoing tide with incoming swell make it rough, slack tide and incoming tide it is relatively calm
This looks pretty normal for the Inlet. The kids tour boat just blows by like a walk to church.
I didn't see a single person wearing a life jacket.
I’d say rough waves but not nasty but great video all the same.
How come you skipped all of the bigger sport fishers?
they were going to slow and riding too stable for this video, i wanted to keep the energy and pace up in this one, i'm making another video with all the big sporties at a slower pace.

@3:29- Bow thruster?? Really???? On 25 feet???? Silly.........

eh...with a single inboard....would be handy in some tight docking with wind not in a good position. Now if it had twins then yes pointless....
Ehh...just give it more throttle! It’s smoother out of the water than in.
