Yep this pretty much sums up my experience with this (masterpiece) game.
Its absolutely mental the level of terror and fear we can put ourselves though in VR. Its really hard to explain how genuinely freighting this stuff is in VR to someone who hasnt taken the leap into gaming 2.0.
Now, im off to see my councillor to discuss yet again, why Max cant come out to play with me and why I refuse to sleep with lights off anymore.

Playing this game now 26 hours and is fantastic. The game i struggle with in horror is madhouse mode on resident evil 7. This game is just a masterpiece. Ps thanks for the laughs. We all remember our first factory run.

One of my favorite moments in this game that i had, personally, was when i was being hunted by the BTR while i was taking cover in a floating house. i was running out of food, so i decided to make a run for it to a neaby house and try to scavenge.
There was nothing in the house.
several enemies were descending upon me.
i killed two of them, thinking i would be safe, when suddenly a slider teleports into the room i'm in, literally inches from my face.
i raise the current weapon in my hand, my pistol, and...
click.
empty.
Story time:
I borrowed a VR headset with several games including into the radius and started playing. At some point, while returning to base after a artefact run, I encountered one of those jumpy things (spawns I believe they are called). I wanted to save some ammo, so I decided to let it jump so it would get stunned and then kill it with a knife. It latched onto a tree. I am 1 70 (more or less 5 foot 7) I had to jump to be able to hit it. I was, in fact, so immersed in the game that I forgot I was in my room, with a ceiling light above me. I'll give anyone who guesses what happened next 5 dollars.
You missed that thing, but totally smacked that light which then cracked into a thousand pieces and while you've been realizing, that thing killed you in game? XD

The key to not being scared is to know your environment, and know your own capabilities and resources. The scariest times are when there are alot of enemies and not alot of ammo. When there is enough ammo/stims to handle enemies, they become alot less scary. Just keep a cool head, know what you're up against and prepare accordingly. Also, make plenty of quicksaves. That kind of brings alot of the fear out of death, since you know you won't loose everything.
I also used to draw them outside with an explosion and then breach the inside. Don't rush, use cover and don't be in a place where you can be attacked from multiple directions.
This absolutely made my day. Your genuine terror was exactly what I felt in this one. I don't know if I would have been able to do that hallway in the dark like you did.

that bomb mission is so much more tense than anything before it. I heavily recommend getting the most expensive ak, box of AP bullets and bullet proof vest . having a spare shotgun on your backpack always comes in clutch when you need it most. good luck

As a ITR player this game is both hard and fun but also terriefying but good luck to you while you play this also this game made me be paranoid for like 2 weeks because of me being worried of getting jumped by alot of mimics

I just found your channel and have recently been getting into the radius (hehe pun). I think that it's great so far, I'm sec. level 3 and scared for my life whenever i go in. I feel like every threat is real, and it's great! Enjoy the game man, you're cool!
At this point I have about 100 hours on the game and there are times that I do get scared but I've gotten really good at not having a panic attack anymore every venture out feels more like combat training now seeing as there are a variety of targets like hard to hit ones like spawns average ones like mimics and slow ones like fragments and phantoms. lets not talk about sliders tho they are the epitome of dark angels they'll jump you out of the middle of nowhere and one tap you they are still terrifying...
I genuinelly feel bad for this dude. Must've felt like hell doing what he did.

This is one of the best videos I've seen in a while. I bought Into the Radius a while back but have been too scared to play past the first few missions. After watching this, I think it might pick it up one more time.
I feel so bad for this guy if he ever decides to come back to this game and discover the Sliders in the 4th area
Into the radius is a stupendous game to vet who has and who doesnt have split second crisis management skills. And If you dont have them and you persevere, you will by the end.
I just recently completed this mission, I (luckily) didn't have much trouble finding the mission area, and the worst part about not only this mission, but the game overall is its overwhelming sense of dread. I found myself playing in a very slow-paced manner, at one point going as far as to actively peak angles irl and crouch in fear of the impending consequences of dying; every turned corner had my cheeks clenched profoundly.
10/10 game thus far though, and currently am going to double back to the factory to find that AKM stash and upgrade from to it from my Izh.
My god how do you play with Izh as a main gun? Gunfights are a lot more dangerous up close and that shotgun doesn't have a lot of range. I prefer to lure them out and use medium to long distance. Even in cqc, 2 barrels are pretty unforgiving if you miss.
Its interesting how we both have such different perspectives and playstyles. I used the weapon due to its easy to find ammo (and cheap) ammo, especially considering some missions are much more cqc, like the factory bomb-door mission. After making this comment I quickly did switch to the AKM, and only doubled back to the Izh for the factory mission, then ditched it!@@libertarianterminator
@@golden471 well it just shows how you can use any playstyle in this game and still have a fun time. tbh I have trouble affording the ammo to my M4 and M9 sidearm. Now when I grind loot in Pervomay and bolotky I just use the cheaper Kedr too cuz there is 9x18 ammo everywhere and it's cheap. Btw you can find that gun for free in the north part of the bolotky map in a boat besides a red valve.
Thats a smart choice, and why I love this game. You never really feel to powerful, but not helpless (mostly). It rewards an "active" and intelligent playstyle. I forgot about that boat spot lol, on my second playthrough ill probably do a longe-range sniper loadout, just to see how I like it.@@libertarianterminator

People think I'm exaggerating when I say this game has brought me to tears of FEAR. My first time in the 4th area was absolute hell, and I just kinda layed down on my floor while hiding from something I don't wanna spoil for you.

The door you are looking for is in the basement at the end of the long factory buliding on the east (just finished that bit). Also you can customize difficulty level, I recommend at least increasing selling rewards to max, it might ease of little bit on a game.
Eh I prefer keeping item selling at default, and instead making Mission Rewards increased, so it actually encourages completing objectives in the game.
On The Intrusion one time I was being shot at and because of how immersive the game is my first thought was that I need to get to cover it was "I need to lay down now" and so in my living room with my whole family watching I hit the deck.
I just love this game so much, it’s the closest thing to an SCP related game in VR I can play. I can go in, and be so immersed I feel like a PPSH wielding Russian S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Or an epsilon-11 MTF member. Either way, a gun doesn’t give you peace of mind, and you’re still not safe with one no matter what gun it is. 💀
I have a mod pack that adds more sounds. So there i was sitting in the dark hall way as i heard a baby crying in the hallway

I did the same mission yesterday, except I got to the right door.... thinking it was where the bomb was, I went thru all that shit and didnt have the bomb I needed so I had to go all the way back out 5 hours from tide. He also didnt show you the untouchable murder dust that stomps around the factory at +1000000 db. this video was amazing gs

I remember for the long factory mission I only had shotgun shells and 9x19...
I totally was running out of ammo but lucky found some slugs along the way.
I learned that when the missions says to expect many enemies, expect to use a fk ton of ammo.
Funny thing about those tapes. They can be helpful giving tips about the radius, they can hold lore, they can even play peaceful songs, most of the time they give you a heart attack.

raiding factory at nigh is hell of a experience. Did it today and the sounds and feeling of being watch freaks me tf out.
I about pissed myself laughing when he played that tape at the end. Because every other one (as far as I'm concerned ) is like an atmospheric piano song or a log about an enemy/anomaly. So I was expecting that but instead he gets the sound of god leaving us behind.
This game is so intense and uncomfortable no matter how many times I play it. If anything it gets worse because now I know what’s out there and expect to see them every 2 seconds. The adrenaline hits hard in this game lmao I want a zombie game with this type of atmosphere.
The video was very well crafted and humorous and I personally enjoyed your pain :3 please keep playing this, the next update that just happened adds some pretty nifty stuffz
I’ve personally never been scared by this game, except for maybe that one time a mimic commando started firing at me out of nowhere. Great video though.
I've barely started to break into this game myself and if a demon walking around growling outside while I'm rummaging through some cabinets in an abandoned trailer, looking for film stock is hair-raising to me, I can't imagine how utterly terrifying shit's gonna get later.

This game is absolutely terrifying when it wants to or needs to be. I went into the area *after* the factory and there is a giant tank that chases you around the entire map. Absolutely terrifying!
BTR goes brttt anyways yeah it is a power house but you can avoid it rather easily by just taking cover and waiting for it to pass. Take things slow and you'll usually come out fine
I played that tape out in the field and it just goes on and on, i couldn't hear shit and I'm convinced it started attracting enemies. I swear i didn't know i could end tapes by pulling out the map but yeah now i do

The bomb mission definitely had me going through it too. I was also a super scrub on gear and no headlamp nor gunlight so I was stuck with the flashlight and clip on light. I don't think there's been another game that made me feel as genuinely tense and afraid as this game.
i can seriously relate to the wrong door part, i went as far as launching like 15 grenades thru my grenade launcher and tried shooting the potato bomb while staying as far back as possible (learnt that the shrapnel fly *very far* the hard way)
I don't blame you, I did the same thing is that mission trying to throw the bomb at the wrong door. The map indicator certainly doesn't help

This game gets even scarier if you play on realistic difficulty with iron-man mode enabled (if you die you lose the game; no manual saves or re-loading auto-saves allowed).

I was out doing a Farewell Feast with nothing but a Makarov to my name and I just started swearing in Russian bc I was fucking scared. This perfectly sums up my experience: always making sure I come prepared, with my guard up at all times, and having an extra pair of big boy pants at the ready.
Edit 2: Finding two nades in a Farewell Feast just made me want to cry and laugh and cry and laugh. I was with a Makarov; the worst gun in the entire game, having to deal with spooky-ass entities. Oh and the BTR; fucking hate that thing. This thing will spook you more than a Seeker.
Please keep playing this game it just gets better and better trust me
Man, those "music" tapes are just the worst. The one place you are safe in, your home, and then you play this and it sends shivers down your spine. I immediately look out the container window and doubt if I am even alone. I also managed to make my parents play and throw them directly into Bolotky village with a ppsh just to traumatize them too.

Tip, if you read the mission description, it will tell you everything you need to know.
i got 12 hours on this game, it is scary in the beginning but then it's kind of like "oh, you dare jump at me mortal?" and you blast whatever tries to assimilate you with 5.56 or stab them, the document retrieval mission, gawdam bro it took me 2 hours because i forgot to save when i died with the documents and started aaaaall the way back at where i was... there was some good loot but i just got so mad i flicked my ak-74 onto full auto and went doom slayer mode. with gun and knife in hand i dove into the building, encountering 2 enemies, an officer and a soldier. then i hear buzzing (artifact time) i thought to myself, i shot that weird ball and out popped a broken shard, that helped for an ongoing mission but still had to get the other in bolotky. anyways i tore through the facility and shot whatever moved, with 2,000 bullets and 3 loaded mags i pressed on, the next place was a bridge taking me to the objective building, but i found an odd flashlight, it was white, and i had found a camera the same. and once more i flicked my light on and went to a room full of crates, nothing here but echoes, then i found a stairwell (jackpot) i thought, i heard voices or something so i plopped a grenade down and waited for the boom. once that was done i went down and gunned down a whopping 7 enemies, 3 soldiers, 2 officers, 1 armored soldier, and a shotgunner. i blasted them all and found a door, it was heavy and cold so i assumed it was the right one with the highlight and all so i slapped on the bomb and waited for the bang, i went in to find a metal box, files, and a gun crate, i cannot put into words the despair i felt when i saw the metal box, then began the journey home, i hopped into a saferoom but heard stomping, i racked a round and gun pointed at the entrance, but i peeked my head out but then... nothing? my first encounter with the stomper was terrifying, but afterwards started the real trek home, but that's a story for another day.
If what he did make him feel like a WW1 vet, then what I experienced at the village (late game) will make me seem like a Vietnam war vet. 💀
I was at the village about mid - to late game and I'm walking around the north west side near the factory route and I'm having a good time making my way to kolkoz and then I hear the slider's teleporting SFX stack 3 times...... I turn around and 3 tall black men were in my face and beat me so hard I fell over.

Yo so that mission isn't really the worst. The worst is the one is where you have to get specific foods to a spot and do a ritual, and all the while a fucking BTR is rolling around, waiting to kill you. Also there are enemies called sliders that teleport to you quickly and I believe without armor one shot you.
also some tips.
If you find ammo like FMJ, sell it, and only use it if your low on ammo. AP is the way to go. It's a bit more expensive, but you kill almost all unarmored enemies in one shot. Armor enemies (ones with the weird yellow glow around them) die in li 2 or 3 with AP.
Also, once you get the chance, get an AUG or a M4A1. These are really good weapons.
I wouldn't bring a 3rd weapon so getting a weapon from the radius home is easier. (Story. was trying to get shotgun home to sell but i brought 3 guns and nearly died because of that.)
Do small missions first and build up cash for armor and (maybe) attachments.
If you buy ammo, get the large boxes if you can afford it.
Sell weapons you don't use (If a weapons red, sell. Yellow? If its good, repair it. If its blue, keep it clean if you use it, or sell for a [fairly] large bonus)
Always bring a flashlight! You never know when you could get stuck in the radius overnight. When you do get the chance, get the headlamp so you always have a flashlight!

Fun video, I hope ya get a head lamp for your future excursions! Whenever I start a new playthrough, I rush through the first two security levels just so I can buy the headlamp (to avoid the weak pocket light or needing to hold a flashlight, even if we can put an lit flashlight in our side pouch instead of holding it).
Hope ya give it another go, there's some fun weapons at Security Level 4. Were ya wearing armor, by the way? Didn't look like ya had a helmet, but maybe you cropped the image or used a mod so that the helmet didn't get in the way of the video you were making.
I haven't been too scared yet I'm also At around 7 hours No where near as far as you are But I see me doing this kind of thing when I get there But I absolutely love this game and how scary it is as I always loved horror Just not as much as much in VR. This video was amazing And it deserves so many more views
In the shop you can actually buy body armor to to make it a lot easier for you.
