Careful with this band man. You will get completely lost down the rabbit hole of My Morning Jacket.
My morning jacket is one of my favorite bands. They can hit you with so many styles but still remain totally them even after all these years. What I like about them is that most of their music is simple to play but the songwriting choices are what set them apart from other bands. Totally worthy of a slow burn series on this channel as they can touch elements of country, r&b, electronic and hard rock to go along with that description earlier. Also, this song is about Jim James' friend committing suicide and unfortunately this song has taken deeper meaning in my own life due to similar circumstances. RIP Kevin you'll always be missed 🙏🙏🙏

This song is a beautiful wailing for a long lost friend to suicide. Jim James told the story on a live performance, great song. Now weird this band always makes me think of American Dad
I don’t often judge musical taste but truly, if you can’t find an MMJ song to love, you are not human
Not particularly a huge fan of mmj of no fault by them. This song came on as I was drifting off to sleep one night. Felt like a dream. Next morning had to click back through the playlist to find out what magical song serenaded me to sleep the night before.
One of my favorite albums of all time.
True story: MMJ was thisclose to being the new Dr. Teeth and The Electric Orchestra for a modern live Muppet Show. Disney canceled at the last minute and the music became the album Circuital.

One of my favorite bands, insanely genre-bending and masterful at all of them!
The conviction jimmy has in his vocals will eternally send bumps over my skin, and raise every hair on my body when the first, “you had me worried” busts through the proverbial brick wall.
I don't find myself listening to MMJ often, but always try to catch them when they come through. Such a great live vibe.
So glad you found your way to MMJ. Such a great band, in studio and live, where bringing "materials" is highly encouraged. 😉

They’re such a versatile band, they can do acoustic that will break your heart, and rock out so hard you want to headbang, all on the same album, or concert, which is how they shine. Live.
It has been too long since I've listened to My Morning Jacket.... It was great to "rediscover" them with you. My oldest daughter was born the year Z was released and I listened to them for a couple of years and then they've dropped off my rotation. Time to go back on.
