The cutscene of Not-Freeman kicking your ass is actually sick. I hope they finish the whole thing. First time I've been excited for more Hunt Down The Freeman!

Imo, just some ideas to make this even cooler:
have Mitchell and his fellas start the game with the M16s instead of the MP5, theres no point in having an SMG if there's already an M16 (not to mention that it makes way more sense for the HECU's to use M16s instead of SMGS).
Remove the "Gordon vs Mitchell" cutscene, try have the player actually try to shoot Gordon, but failing, bait the player into thinking he died (with the camera tilt just like regular half life) and have the G-Man talk to Mitchell in his "dead state" it makes more sense for him to "offer him" the deal in some type of "dead reality" than a hospital bed, make him more mysterious.
Again, no Cutscenes, they're way too out of place in Half Life.
Scrap the Metro and the Elevator crescendo section, alongside the rest of the game, make it only about the 7 hour war, imo it would feel weird to have Mitchell go to City 9/17/Nova Prospekt in the goldsrc, it just doesnt match the aesthetics.
Make rebels show up in the Dam part, have them assist Mitchell for a short period, have the Rebels throw an RPG at the player so you can help them take down the Combine Helicopters.
Make the enviroment feel even more like a war, it would be very cool if you could make this game all about Mitchell hunting Freedom ONLY during the 7 hour war.
Make Mitchell die as a badass, or have him get killed by Gordon, the ending should be the G man saying something such as "Well.. well.. Mr Mitchell, we gave you everything you asked for, power, time, allies, and yet you could not keep your promise, perhaps you will be able to, in a next life, afterall, its just a half of what awaits us on the other side. " *Mitchell finds Adrian who turns back, but cannot interact with him, as death consumes the last glimpse of consciousness Mitchell had.*
