    But film rolls are so expensive! Before deciding on taking a photo I keep in mind that it costs Rs. 60 a photo on average. But you kno.. my friends value the film photos more because of the look.

    Hey dude, greetings from Shillong!
    Love to see that the film shooting community is well and alive.
    In love that Nikon FM2 of yours, been hunting for a decent working one myself these past few months but tough luck so far, do you have any suggestions on where I can land one myself?
    Btw keep up with the content! Lets hope we build up a community like this channel of yours for minded individuals who love a little bit of grain in our pictures! 😎

      Just shoot the whole roll and send it to Darkroom 34 , Siliguri. They are the best.
      The Camera Exchange, Dharmatala is also a great alternative but they develop and print Black and White film rolls only.

    Hey so whats it cost to develop and scan a roll of 35mm film?

    • @shehzadamurthy1983
      @shehzadamurthy1983 2 года назад +1

      I just got my 35mm C-41 developed in Delhi (I live in Lucknow, and there's no development lab here). It costed Rs.500 for the development. And for scanning (digital scan using some Epson printer), was another Rs.500, which I didn't get done because it wasn't working that day. He also does digital scanning using a Hasselblad film scanner, which would have costed Rs.1500 for the roll.
      So TBH its still expensive considering the cost of a film roll on amazon. And also one or two frames will invariably be wasted (the camera I used got its shutter stuck a few times, then at times the shutter will will be pressed by accident)

    • @siddhantmogaveera
      @siddhantmogaveera 2 года назад +1

      @@shehzadamurthy1983 Woah that's way too expensive man! I myself have shot two rolls of c200 so far, for my first roll the dev+scan part cost me just 450 bucks at this place called Idea Creative in Mumbai, they sent me 1800x1200 tiff files of the scans which were scanned on an epson flatbed (and although I do think they did a great job I wasn't very impressed with the results coz flatbeds are just not ideal for 35mm film) and then for my second roll I went to Dave Bros and they charged me 600 for dev+scan and I really liked the results this time, they use a noritsu scanner for 35mm film and the scans were 3000x2000 jpeg files

    • @shehzadamurthy1983
      @shehzadamurthy1983 2 года назад

      @@siddhantmogaveera Ah crap! Now i feel ripped off. I had my previous roll physically printed (by the same Siddhartha photographixs, he didn't give me a digital scan, it was cheaper that way) and the dynamic range was all screwed up. the highs were overexposed even though I could see objects on the negatives.
      Anyways, thanks for the info on the labs in Mumbai.

    • @siddhantmogaveera
      @siddhantmogaveera 2 года назад

      @@shehzadamurthy1983 Yeah this is why I have stopped shooting film for now coz you have no control over the results you're getting when you send it in to a lab, I only plan to resume it once I can afford my own set up to develop and scan the film myself, from the comparison videos I've seen online digital camera scanning seems like the way to go

      Hey, Yashica EZ View is an electric point and shoot - try scrubing the battery slot with a fine grain sand paper. Add a new set of batteries and see if the camera responses without film (if it turns on, or shows some signs of life). If it does you are good to go.
