a little biased.... but I have a 2016 SE 4motion, black on black. hate the green privacy glass. eventually I'll get the ECU reprogrammed for about 240 hp and a lot more torque! I like the no-nonsense interior. it works. and it's got the Carplay, Android Auto & mirrorlink yes it's small in the trunk, it's got the 40/20/40 seats that I can throw a snowboard in easily.
The old one is made in Germany, the new in Mexico. I bought the 'old' 2018 tiquan made in Germany with a 6 years, 72000 mile warranty and saved thousands!
For any owners out there, hows this 2016 VW Tiguan's engine holding up? I've been reading a lot of mixed reviews but it seems like the rating on the mechanics of this year model is better compared to the older ones. Thanks for the feedback!
Beautiful small suv. Love the interior. But my problem is mpg. 22/23 mpg for the 2017 Tiguan with AWD. Really? Honda HRV with AWD has 32 hwy mpg. Bigger suvs have better mpg. The mpg is horrible for a small suv and premium gas. So pay more $ for gas and get less mpg. The Fiat 500x may even do better. I love this size Tiguan, and don’t like the new models. But gas mileage kills it for me.
They depreciate quickly and you can buy a year old with low miles for like 10k less (or more, fully loaded). I think these cars are better to be bought used/certified used, so long as there aren't any issues with the engine.
+sic22l Not for groceries but I can't afford a town car and a travelling car and you really need 300 for when you pack it full of family and baggage and head out of town. The hills and overtaking require it (passing works a lot differently here in NZ). Plus I like to be able to operate without really pushing the engine to 100%.
I've always liked the Tiguan. Even at 9 years old it's still impressive.

How has the car hold up? I just bought a 2016 model from Audi at 7,000 miles pre owned for $15,000.
@@00raisergundam Nice. How do you like it? I'm thinking about getting one.
@@mg2380 I love mine
I've purchased 3 VW Tiguan's will be getting my fourth tomorrow. So I guess you can say I love these SUV's. Thank you so much for the review
I’m on my first one and love it!
The redesign that's right around the corner blows this one away. I'd wait for the new one.

Chiefin Mina no issues with 35,000 miles on my 2016
Nice! I'm bouncing back between the 2015 or the 2016. Thanks!
That whiny pitch is the turbocharger, lol

Man those sunglasses are dope!
Can u test drive the jeep wrangler 75 anniversary edition please.
how much leg room do passengers have?
Tons
The price will make you run away.
currently that face lifted model is only a few hundred dollars more expensive than some Japanese cars.

Love the VWs
Pitty the power is so low or it would be a nice car. I get fuel/emissions etc but i really wouldn't want to go under 300hp.
+Stephen Cairns 300 hp in a small crossover?
+sic22l Yes. Seems quite a reasonable level?
Stephen Cairns Reasonable? You really need 300hp for grocery shopping?

Stephen Cairns You need something much bigger than a compact crossover that cannot even handle such power.
Dave, definitely need tighter pants.
this needs a redesign.
The instrument cluster with the speedo and tach and stuff is VERY 2005 Mercedes C class
+Ernesto Ortega R That's 2007 car. Yes, this design has 9 years.
The interior is very outdated, circa 2011. I am a vw fan & have a 2012 eos my cars interior is much more relevant then this.
+pabblackberry 2007 to be precise.
Good video, but please stop this VVVVVVVVVVVolkUAgen, its pronounced FolksVagen - people's car Folks Vagen FolksVagen
Only met people from India who say it this way.
Volkswagen interiors are very plain and outdated. They have had that same cluster for years.
"plain and outdated" ? so what company sets standard in interior design?
A great review .. and
