I got my 2018 Tiguan S Same but with 17” alloys in black for $22k with the $25k sticker brand new! I’m very happy it doesn’t seem like a base model with the beautiful touchscreen and sound system
I bought this car new in 2016 it still on the original brakes. Burns no oil. I have not done anything to it but change the oil ever 3500 to 4000 miles. I have talked to many people who have put on at least 3 turbos. I attribute my lacheckupck of turbo purchases to letting the hot oʻil out by idling the engine for 2minutes. I also did the 60K mile checkup at 40K for 900 bucks.
got myself a 2016 SE 4Motion. The VW App Connect is one of the reasons why I chose it over a more expensive Tiguan with fancier sheetmetal and badge (the Audi Q3). When I put the foot down, I like to pretend I'm Jezza and yell POWAAH!!!!, but the stock tune doesn't give me that (especially compared to my last car, which had some let's say warranty voiding improvements). Too bad, I got my car mid-season, so I couldn't test the 4Motion in snow (in the US East coast, which had a bad ski season) with the 16" steelies and snow tires I immediately bought
Would you say that on a normal road (street, freeway, etc.) the 19 in wheels would increase the bumpiness of the ride? Or would you expect, from your experience with the 16 inch wheels, it to be fairly similar?
would be nice to mention that new, greatly improved model (7 seater, among many other things) is already out in Europe, and in the US just around the corner (fall of 2017 I believe) - isn't this a part of the reason you can get a bargain on this one? Great review otherwise!
+Blazej Cichy the 7-seater, is not available yet in Europe (if they even plan on selling the 7-seater in Europe), just the 5. The 7-seater is for certain markets, like ours for instance.
It over achieved its EPA estimates in real world driving, and its actual EPA ratings are actually not worst in class with comparable engines if you study the class.
I can vouch for this thing, I have a 2013 Trendline (S) 4 motion and its been a phenomenal car on and off road
Since I am a proud owner of a Tiguan 2016, I am in full agreement with the review...great car...!

+Tan N I test it (live in Tornto); its very solid in the snow, no problem with in snow or freezing rain
Great review, as always! 👏👏👏
As a owner of a 2015 Tiguan 2.0 tdi DSG 4 motion I am still a happy owner. What a vehicle.
Dirt roads and also tarred roads.
How has the reliability been? Also, what weather climate are you in?
Very well put together video! Congratulations.
Asking a stupid question.. So this means that the whole car and parts are made in Germany?
If memory serves, this one was built in Wolfsburg, Germany. Some of the components may have come from elsewhere.
Thinking about getting this year and model of the car, is the car loud from the inside and is the gas responsive?
looking at one now 2016 95,467 miles

+roxnlace The 19's on this are ok on the pavement.
I can't wait to see how the new one is with the diesel

+Blazej Cichy Yes we have done a few features on it. The latest we've heard is late late this year for its arrival if not just into next year.

Does this model/year only take premium gas?
You can use normal gas, however premium is recommended if you are an aggressive driver.
THIS IS NOT THE 2016 MODEL. ALL NEW MODEL WILL BE AVAILABLE 2016 AND THIS OLD MODEL WILL BE RETIRED.
+DOK This is a North American 2016 model. We don't get the new one until the 2018 model year.
yikes that exterior is horrible.
Says you lol
Did you really give this car 5/5 on efficiency? Its the worst in class wtf

No it does not stack up.
