At the same, what happened to us Assyrians, how our rights were challenges with oppressive campaigns, our properties and wealth stolen and never given back and reparated are still issues not responded, ignored and rejected by the Turkish authorities in as well for Syrians, Iraqi and Iranian authorities. However, today we are moving forwards, towards a dialogue, coexistence in a place where we have little say or capacity to anchor and protect our heritage, language and practices.
We are proud to be speaking all the languages, being polyglots in many cases for Assyrians, but we need authorities hand in hand consolidating our rights to be able to exist and cohabit. Assyrians are still being threatened now with the Syrian situation.

It’s worth mentioning that today, the Assyrians in northern Iraq face challenges, wether in the limitations of their movements in Assyrian dominated towns and villages (eg: Alqosh, Nalha, etc), facing at the same time land grabbing legalized by the Kurdish court (eg: Badarash; Zakho région, etc), face constant sexualization and sexual harassment of Assyrian women by Kurdish individuals with a lack of awareness and education, the lack of subventions for Assyrian-speaking schools with constant pressure from k her dish authorities to shift to a fully Kurdish-speaking schools instead, Assyrian schools are continuously moved from one place to another in deteriorated infrastructure (eg: Bahra school), Assyrian schools have Kurdish military propaganda painted on their walls with military offices and guns.

Yes, yes, we, the minorities, are very happy in Turkey. There is no discrimination! We hold high-level positions in the army, we can become high-level state administrators such as governors and judges. Then our churches are very safe, so safe that the police who used to wait at the door only on Sundays are now there every day of the week. 😂Nobody enters the church and says Allahu Akbar, or interrupts the service. For example, nobody is bothered by our Christmas trees during Christmas! They don't burn our Christmas tree! 🙃Or nobody calls us "infidels". Imams don't preach against us, on the contrary, they say go and ask how we are. More importantly, Turks accept that our ancestors have been around for thousands of years and don't treat us like foreigners 🥲. Turks who converted to Christianity later are much happier. Their families support them and they are still seen as Turks by other Turks 😅. Here you go, Turkey in the virtual world. Or rather, the Türkiye that Muslim Turks think of.

Western countries are where the propaganda shines you know. Imagine lying about so many things about those events in 1915 for a century. Did you know turkey has been asking for an international scientific team to search and establish facts about those claims? Almost every president who was asked questions about that topic asked for an international scientific team research into the matter which was denied by colonial lobbies every time. Israel denies such attempts btw i mean it will never allow an international organization to establish facts about palestinians for example or other colonial govs always deny international organizations such attempts for their crimes in africa unless they are ready to face the facts ofc. Imagine destroying a country which stood for nearly 600 years with inciting different ethnicities making them k.. each other and while destroying many of its cities. And then blaming its people with the crimes you yourselves committed. Actually its exactly like how those israelis or Zs act. Number of turkish civilian casualties was put around 3 to 5 million. And total armenian population in the ottomans at that time was nowhere even close to the number in those claims. It's scary how people in the west are okey with being raised by such a heavy propaganda driven education. In that regard you didnt move forward one step from the middle ages

There are among the Syrian Orthodox those who admit their Assyrian roots while others specially those from the Middle-East deny their Assyrian roots and claim that they are Arameans but that denial is their problem. Assyrians of the Church of The East who preserved their ancient identity and lineage are called in Turkish Ashurlar/ Assurlar while the Syrian Orthodox church denomination is referred to as Suryanlar.

There is a difference between the Assyrians and the Syriacs. The Assyrians disappeared historically like the Pharaohs and the Hittites. As for those who claim to be or call themselves Assyrians they are actually Syriacs origin but why do they deny their origin? The Syriacs live In Southeastern province of Turkiya, in Iran West Azerbaijan province, in Northern Syria and in North Iraq and Mosul... Btw the regions of Northern Syria(Aleppo, Qamishli and Raqqa provinces) and Northern Iraq and Mosul were part of Turkiya but Britain did not want to hand over these regions after WW 1 because of the Oil and the Oil Era began after WW 1.. Britain also made a demographic change in Northern Iraq by bringing the Kurds from Iran to northern Iraq. For example, the city of Erbil was part of Mosul or Nineveh province and the majority population of Erbil city was Syriacs, Arabs and Turkmen after WW 1 and the Kurds in all North Iraq and in all Iraq in general were less than 100 - 50 thousand and Iraq population was 3 million at that time i think..
The Kurds in Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and the southeastern province of Turkiya are Kurds from the era of Saladin.. As for the Kurds in the southern province of Turkiya, they are Kurds from the era of the Kurd Zand dynasty that ruled Iran

      You're simply spreading misinformation.
Historically the Syriac (Suryoye orthodox) have always claimed descent from the ancient Assyrians and Babylonians.
Based on geography and language (Aramaic).
Mor Jacob of Edessa wrote that our ancestors founded the most powerful kingdoms of their times.
Mor Dionysus of Tell Mahre clearly says that the Suryoye east of the Euphrates had many kings from Assyria and Babylon.
Mor Michael Rabo quoted both Mor Dionysus and Mor Jacob of Edessa.
In addition to that the anonymous Syriac Orthodox chronicle of 1234 also quotes our previous scholars claiming Assyrian heritage.

    • @suryoyegabore6043
      @suryoyegabore6043 13 дней назад

‘Syriac’ puts more emphasis on the Christian identity of the Assyrians, while ‘Assyrian’ emphasises the nationalistic, geographic and historic belonging of the Assyrians. ‘Aramean’ is also used to refer to the Assyrians, and emphasises the Aramaic linguistic identity of the Assyrians, which are speakers of modern Mesopotamian dialects of Aramaic. ‘Assyrian’ constitutes the all-embracing identity of the people also known as Syriacs or Arameans.

I haven't even denied that Aramean hasn't been used by our scholars as a self designation. I have nothing against the name Aramean. I'm proud of all our names. However to those who say that we're not Assyrians, they should know that our church fathers since Mor Jacob of Edessa till the anonymous Syriac Orthodox author of the 1234 chronicle proudly acknowledged their Assyrian heritage.

Stop using the word "genocide" casually. Genocide is the greatest crime that can be committed against humanity and the crime is determined by the courts, not by senators or historians. If it is thought that the Ottomans committed genocide, international courts should be taken and the criminals should be revealed and announced to the whole world, compensation should be paid to the victims, etc. If this is not done, think about why those who say the crime was committed do not file a lawsuit, maybe the facts are not as you think.

Turkey today is part of the same western countries which allowed the Genocide to take place, that is the U.S., France, Germany, Britain/England so you think that they will condemn that act of Genocide ?
When over 750.000 Assyrians (with their different church denominations) lose their lives in a region (Hakkari) while they were targetted as a millet which was supposed to be protected by the Ottoman Sultan and government, then it is Genocide. When their villages and lands are almost all today in the hands of Kurds, then it is Genocide. The world accepted the Armenian Genocide which took place at the same time, but officially the Assyrian Genocide is covered up and no one wants to talk about it so how do you expect the Assyrians to have justice ?
