My Hometown. Currently it's the 3rd fastest growing city in the US and has been ranked #1 best and most livable city in Tennessee. It's 31 miles SE of Nashville in the exact center of Tenn with a marker of the exact spot near MTSU. Amazing city! Always felt blessed to be born and raised in Murfreesboro
Hows the traffic and medical?

A lot of the locals are former registered sex offenders who relocated here due to the lack of oversight and the readily available meth.
I just moved from California to Murfreesboro and been here for almost a week so far so good! Neighbors are very friendly! I literally live behind Blackman Highschool! can’t wait to see what the future ahead !

Grew up in murfreesboro. Great town. But to be honest it has just gotten to big and the traffic is horrendous now. However there is a ton to do there,plenty of shopping and several restaurants. A ton of job oppurtunities there. It is definately not the same town i grew up in. I am more of a small town boy. I prefer to live in shelbyville( or pronounced shelville,lol)

we are looking to move to TN, can you tell me what you think is better between Murfreesboro and Chattanooga and why?
Loved in both and I prefer just outside Chattanooga area. Chattanooga has much more scenery if you like anything outdoors. So many hikes lakes waterfalls beautiful downtown and a great greenway system I’d go for Hixson or Ooltewah there. I love Murfreesboro too tons of restaurants and things to do but the cost of living is MUCH higher in the boro and the traffic is horrendous

I am doing a lot of research and I really like Murfreesboro and Hendersonville to retire. My husband friend who lives in Spring Hill warned us Murfreesboro is expanding too quickly and we may be stuck in the sprawl over time as they continue to build like crazy. He seems to think we will have to deal with heavy local traffic and not just traffic to Nashville (we don't need to commute). Any opinions on that? I am trying to talk my husband into considering Murfreesboro.
Murfreesboro is definitely growing, but so are all the areas surrounding Nashville. Murfreesboro is the largest suburb of Nashville so I'm sure some traffic will occur but also, with being the largest suburb already, I think they are more equipped to deal with the growth than some other suburbs. Just my opinion though! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!
I have lived in Murfreesboro since 2007. It has grown so much the traffic is now so crazy!!! It used to be a perfect little town, the kind where everyone knows everyone. It’s now so overcrowded from people moving here from California . It makes me so sad. Don’t retire here !!!
How about boating and watersports? Anything close to Murfreesboro?
Absolutely. Murfreesboro isn’t too far from Percy Priest lake.
The people in Murfreesboro really are the worst they are not welcoming at all. A few months ago they had to clear out a homeless encampment that took up an entire parking lot of an abandoned Kroger. Look it up. Even on the nicer sides of town things are run down and empty and homeless camps are hidden.
Sure did! The homeless from Nashville are now being bused here because there are too many homeless for the Nashville people to see. I have no idea why anyone would want to move here to Murfreesboro there isn't anything here and I am 4 generations deep in this county that others have ruined.
Hows the traffic and medical?
Great hospital within 20 mins of almost anywhere in the town. Traffic is horrendous, avoid the 24 at all costs
The cost of living, traffic, crime, and homelessness have all increased, making Murfreesboro an undesirable place to live.
