Definitely the best review on RUclips. Im so happy to hear that it still works for you. Ive been reading the reviews and im getting 50/50 on good and bad reviews. I read a lot of reviews and they gave me the impression that microwave has about a two year life span. Thanks for also doing the size difference as well.
Hope you are still having good luck with this. Had this Model at work & bit the dust after about a year (no longer heated contents), sort of wonky controls, but got used to it. We disassembled this as some one wanted the transformer, & we found an unusual amount of corrosion on the interior electrical components. I haven't had the best of luck with LG components ... 6 dehumidifiers in 5 years (they at least had a 5 year warranty, but always replaced with refurbs that failed within a season), Mobile phone lasted a little over a year before the display randomly would not illuminate, TV Tuners (2x), I had to recap the power supplies after 2 years, no longer turn on in a cooler room. Wil say all these products did work great though when they worked. Was sort of disappointed, as my home microwave (Sharp) 1.5 Cu ft is nearing 25 years old, can't expect much more & now the other day the door will not kick open (now has to be pulled open when there door release is depressed), no longer see Sharp microwaves, the Sharp I had before lasted well over 10 years. I know now these are disposable with about a 2 year life span.... sometimes newer isn't always better!
I know this review was a bit ago but LG actually manufactures appliances here in the US. The town I live in has a huge lg plant that manufactures these products so don’t feel guilty for buying it at all
Brian Benjamin ok, it’s a start, but look and see if it’s assembly. Assembly is very different than manufacturing... I see this a lot.... bring back North American full production.
I don't like that you must open the door to set the clock and choose your setting. I understand what they are trying to do, making it look sleek and minimalistic. I don't think I'll be buying this one but if anyone likes it it's on sale for $99 at Best Buy. Not sure if the price is for the smaller one though.
Yes, it has been working fine... no issues, it’s a nice size or step up from my old .8 or .9.. big difference and much more power... When cooking I often reduce the power setting and extend the cook time proportionately to get a more even heat... it heats stuff like water or soup to almost boiling in 40 seconds...
@@kd_enterprise3404 but hwo can turn off that very annoying sound when hitting each button? Very migraineinducing:( Liked your video, but wanted to grab your micro to find a setting to make it quiet..
@@ruben7937 too bad the sound volume or sound type can’t be adjusted… you’d think these days it would have that feature…I’m sure it will happen one day.
Picked one of the 1.5 units up last week, got for $135(Can). Seems to be Okay, though it has burnt every Bag of Popcorn I have tried in it, and there was still 45 secs on the Timer, after the Sensor Cooking is done. My Previous Microwave was an LG, it lasted about 6 1/2 years. the one prior to it was a Panasonic, it was still going after 8 1/2, but the pan where the Wheelie thing did its thing had lost the Paint and was Rusting. Prior to buying this LG I had bought another Panasonic from Costco, and it lasted 2 weeks before it went on Permanent Power Level 3. Replacement Rocked like a Bar Table with uneven legs, so it too went back. SO I figured I would try another LG. I do dislike the Extra Wide Door as it interferes with items placed on our Cutting Board which extends from the Countertop. The controls, while different, are almost Intuitive and don't take too much to figure out. Being a Real man, I haven't even taken the Owner's Manual out of It's bag.
Thanks for the comment, it is a power microwave, what I have found when cooking many things I need to reduce the power level, sometimes to 50%, but increase the cook time to correspond with power reduction, this really helps in some situations, like heating a pie. Do some testing, I do t really use the presets anymore because I have found I can do better after some experience.. the popcorn, I’d try setting at 80% for the suggested time and see what happens.. then you can further refine the setting next time...
It’s all 10 second intervals.. but for example you could use the power setting to compensate. Many times I cook something say 2 minutes but I know it will heat too fast and uneven so I’ll put it at 60% power.
Do NOT buy! This broke in 2 years, the warranty is only for a specific part not 10 years like it says in the front label( it does not specify a specific part only on product) no point in having a certain part covered when the whole product stops working!!!
You are MISINFORMED. China is the number one trading partner of the US. So most products in the states are made in China. You're even LUCKY to have a product made in Korea since Korea brands are very strict with the quality of its products.
I’m in Canada, the USA is our number one trading partner… no I’m not misinformed…. I personally try to buy from the USA, however the USA does have the greatest imports from China because the American companies sent all their manufacturing to China over the last 30yrs.
@@billthomas9263 agreed! sorry it’s sometimes unclear, think we are on the same page, however much I’d like to get a quality USA item, (I try) in Canada we are flooded with Chinese stuff, if I can’t find USA, although still disappointed, I’d go for Korean, Taiwan, Japan and even India before china.
That is tough to judge on internet, I’m thinking if this unit is larger than the old one it will be a bit louder, mine is louder than the smaller one I had. Thanks for watching!
Great video and info, thanks so much! ~ you covered things other videos didn't !! I like the higher tech aspects of it vs my old 20+ yr. old microwave! (did a great job though) :)
Do I hear a Canadian accent in this video? WOW, what a GREAT and helpful video! Just what I needed for the microwave I bought yesterday. The manual is fine, but SEEING this video is MUCH better and has given me some confidence to take the next step. And, I really liked that you explained (even though you may not have known that) the deal with the 12 or 24 hour time. That made NO sense to me, but I see that when you picked 24 hour, it showed in military time, which I do NOT like. I have to figure out what time it is! All in all, thank YOU.
Here is a little tip. When purchasing appliances see if you can buy them from Home Depot. Find the model you like and then see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere. Home Depot has a 10% price match guarantee. Meaning not only will Home Depot match a competitors price but they will beat it by 10%. We bought this microwave last night. Home Depot had it on regular sale of $199.00. Lowes has it on sale right now for $175.00. We price matched at Home Depot and got an extra 10% off, meaning our $199 microwave was $157.50 + tax. We also recently did the same thing with a LG Washer and Dryer, we price matched it with Costco which was only $0.01 (yes 1 cent) cheaper than Home Depot and we got a 10% price match saving us an additional $280 on the washer and dryer set. In relation to the microwave, yes it is a good microwave, I'm glad we bought it.
Wow.. that's one crazy deal. My microwave broke last night and I desperately needed one. Paid 219.99 for this plus tax 235.00 at Best buy. I feel like returning it. They couldn't price match due to their current cv19 situation but have til end of April to return it. I'm going to shop around and pick this up at another store.
nflcolts83 they won’t do it because of cov... ridiculous.. Normally I think you have 30 days, but I guess it could be extended, I called them up, it could be employee confusion.
I just bought this for $99 at Target US. It has been as high as $160 or even $190. I haven't opened it yet, as I'm moving house in a week and it's for the new flat. Very excited! Thanks for the preview. (-:
Nope, you would just have to run it for 5 then press stop.... I’ve never had to be that precise personally.... I guess the other option would be adjust the power level to 50% and that would be equal to 5 seconds based on a 10 second input.

if I want just 53 seconds, how would I put that in?
Kevin Pishgar you can’t, it’s 10sec increments.
Why would u wanna put 53 seconds? Genuinely curious
You put 50 seconds and then wait 3 seconds until you open the door
