Thanks for the video as we were about to buy one. NOTE: I see at the end of the video, you demonstrate it running without having anything in there. NEVER do that. It can damage the magnetron and you will be buying a new one. At a minimum, put a cup of water in there to absorb the microwaves so they don't reflect back into the magnetron and burn it out. It can happen quicker than you think
Appreciate the advice - but it ran for only about 20 seconds. Modern microwaves (built since the late 90’s) have protections built into them to protect against the damage you’re referring to. You’d need to exceed about 8-10 minutes of operation to damage it.
i just installed it . i love it it looks nice . i connected it to my wifi . i like the notification i received to my phone that the popcorn was ready. Thanks for your information
Phenomenal review. I just bought this to replace my LG Studio with the knob (don’t ever buy that one). This made me feel even better about the purchase.
Thank you very much because I bought the same looking microwave but the only thing that lit up was the clock. I immediately went to the internet to find this model and I found it. For 175 more I'll take this model it looks much better. Thanks
Thanks for this video. I'm about to buy one. FYI, the anti-fingerprint surface is all the stainless steel frame, not the touch panel. It is the same case with their refrigerators and ranges.
Glad you like yours, we're returning ours because it's too noisy. The buzzing noise is much louder than our older microwave. You have a beautiful kitchen!
@@MattAlexander We made the mistake of installing ours first before we realized how loud it was AND that the window was so small. I was too short to see the food inside. LG makes nice tvs and refrigerators but not so much the microwaves 🤷🏻♀️.
Cool. Have a 2012 LG OTR Microwave. Has the extenda vent. On your the back filters coming down is cool. I just replaced the turntable motor today. Had to remove the extenda vent. It was gross in there, when the kitchen installers installed the Microwave, they never put the back filters in, just realized today to get filters in the back.
I have found it takes almost 5 minutes for the display to dim so just the clock is showing and not all the microwave features. I did time it to make sure it wasn’t just me…
Nope - I work in I.T. for a living. Not a product reviewer or RUclipsr or anything. Just made a quick video to fill the gap I had when I was microwave shopping. Cooks fine though - as good as any other microwave I’ve owned.
Your video is very informative. I didn't know about the nifty little trick with the fans until I saw you do it. Thanks for sharing. We're considering purchasing this model but we're wondering if it's easy to clean the glass without interfering with the settings buttons. Are they sensitive to being wiped with a cloth?
Hi and thanks for the video. We bought the same model after watching it. I understand that you don't have the unit anymore, but do you remember if the keypad turned itself off after a few minutes? The manual says it should, but ours is on all the time. Can't find an option in the settings to enable the blanking of the keypad. Maybe there is a secret settings menu? Thanks again.
Ours definitely did. I believe it took around 1.5 - 2 minutes to turn off. I don’t recall if there was a setting on the Microwave or in the mobile app for it.
one of the better reviews but how about how well it cooks or doesnt, like defrost, like popcorn, we have bought and returned 3 microwaves that couldn't cook popcorn without burning it. Our old Sharp Carousel cooked any popcorn and sensor turned it off at right time.
Hello and thanks for the video since it's the only way I would know this thing is supposed to have a back light! What did you touch at the very beginning of your video to get it to light up? Thanks for your help, not much out on this thing.
Question for you. For the extend vents, do they sit flush with the rear? Was did you have to notch out your tile backslash to account for the additional inch or does the vent offset from the rear?
Can you share the template from the install. I can't go by the dimensions on the description due to my small upper cabinet (recessed on bottom)and a very thick granite backslash. Can you provide the dimensions of your cabinet and how far out from the back of the cabinet to where the mounting screws ended up? Thank you!
Did you have any trouble with condensation on the panel while cooking? And when you cleaned off the glass was it confusing the system because you're rubbing across all the touch buttons?
were you able to reduce the heating power? i cook things that need to reduce power to 50%. I did not see the option on the same model minus the extendavent.
@@Ncoastjack I'm just stressing out having to buy a new microwave reading all these issues people are having with these newer ones. I had my KitchenAid microwave since 2006 and the display just died a few weeks ago. I'm just trying to find something equivalent and I can't . that microwave every option was right on the screen I didn't have to look at a menu it was just touch screen and the power level was right on the display.
Do you do any additional venting in the cabinets or did you just plug it in and let the vents it came with do the job? We were trading in the manual that proper venting was necessary but we have never had to do that.
Like nearly all new microwaves, there are multiple configuration options to properly vent, depending on whether you have roof, wall or room venting. I am using the room venting which requires you to re-orient the blower.
Awesome looking . I ordered one in black stainless, but I’m concerned about my upper cabinet supporting it. I purchased the cabinet from HD , the one you assemble yourself , and I’m debating to add some angle iron to the inside corners and glue and screw them in place . The front on the cabinet only has these two pins on each side that keep it together. I’d be devastated if they broke threw the particleboard and my new microwave fell onto my new LG range 😢
Yes, mine is like that as well. And it is super loud for not having any suction. Brutal, I like everything else but fan on low is super loud and does nothing
@@khabars123net when they install the venting on top there is effectively a flap on the pipe. If the pipe gets slightly bent during install, it can make the flap stick closed instead of flapping open when turned on. These means it forces lots of air through small cracks making it noisy. So check your venting duct. Easy check is it should be blowing really crazy out the other end of pipe. If only a bit coming out other end then it’s blocked and will be noisy
Yep - works fantastic. Love the under LED lights, extended exhaust fans, and appearance. Easy to keep clean. We DID manage to put a small chip in the front edge of the extended exhaust tray when we accidentally tapped it with a plate. Not a big deal - but was a little bit of a bummer. Seemed to happen very easily. We touched it up with some gray paint and can barely tell now.
Such an amazing review!!! Good job brother! Very well done. In depth, went into details and covered everything. Brilliance

Just an FYI, dont run your microwave with nothing in it, our LG had a firey meltdown doing this. Nice video thanks for posting.
What brand do you have now?
@@SW-pm3ls After watching your video, I purchase the same as you. Thanks for posting, love it!
Thanks for the review, can you talk about the venting options? can it vent through the back? what size vent?
Excellent Vid, Thank you!!! I'm buying one tomorrow!!!
The door is really wide, roughly 29.5 inches. Do you find that the door is too wide, it get in the way when opening it?
the anti fingerprint isnt on the glass, its on the stainless
For anyone who has this: how much air comes out of the top vents with the fan running? When set to room vent.
I would think you would do a great IN-Depth review on how well it cooks? Thanks

The anti fingerprint us the stainless steel only

How can i make the display to light up
You just have to touch anywhere on the glass where the buttons are located or opening the door
My inside light won't work, has this happened to anyone else?
How far out does the microwave need to stick out past the cabinet to allow the door to open freely? Thank you.
It sticks out 1 foot 4 inch
