All good, but Poland is not the east... It's exactly in the middle of Europe, and from Roman Empire times on, it was considered a north. The perspective changed when the Holy Roman Empire was formed, and the cultural point of view moved from Italy to the territories of countries like Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, the northern part of Italy, the eastern part of France, and the western part of Poland. This is how mainly current "Germany" has become a centre, and everthink on the right from it was called East, but this is nonsense, and just describe a point of view of an Holy Roman Empire. Poland is and always has been in the centre of Europe, if we look from a geographical point of view. There was even a long period in the history of Europe when the Polish Lithuanian Commenwelth had such a big impact on the continent that, for many, it was considered a cultural centre of Europe.
Gdańsk is just stunning and a lovely place. Sopot nearby has a great beach and also very cold water! Also a brief trip to Malbork Castle is really a magnificent trip as are two of the great museums in Gdańsk which are the shipyard museum and also the WW2 museum. Just a brilliant way to enjoy some days here.
Gdansk is the birthplace of Solidarity movement which redefined Eastern Europe. Between World War One and World War Two it was a free city, not Polish nor German, totally independent. The old part of Gdansk is gorgeous. The city has a lot of German heritage. Gdansk is a part of Tri-City, together with smaller Gdynia and smallest Sopot. Great public transportation system, very easy to move around and not expensive. Gdansk has ferry services to Sweden and Denmark. It also offers sea ship and fast hoover boat Baltic Sea tours. It is also possible to take a ship to the end of the peninsula - little lovely town called Hel.
It's so great to see that people are still interested in the history. I live a little further South from this city and been there twice. You just made me want to go there once more. :) The guys singing were from Ukraine - for those viewers who thought this is the polish language. We have loads of them from obvious reasons. I've heard about Manekin and their crepes. This is definitely my type of food - meat, veggies and carbohydrates from the crepes. Naleśnik is usually something between a crepe and a pancake (sort of). You both have a positive energy and it was so comfortable to watch. You're always welcome in Poland!

@@Truthspreader70Europe's top destination? Definitely not! Alot of people are still unaware of Poland as a good tourist/travel destination. Especially older people who don't really use the internet much (they still imagine Poland as in the 90s/early 00s when it's changed alot since then). In a way I think this is good...Prague is a great example of what happens to a city with over tourism. You don't want that to happen in Poland. And as for the over tourism in places like Venice, Rome and Paris...let's not even begin.
I love my born city of Gdansk. Fun fact: Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, which you guys should know, was born in Gdansk. Arthur Schopenhauer was born there and moved like me to Hamburg. It changed so much in the last years. But you need to visit Hamburg too, where i live now for almost 40 years.
In Gdańsk there is also falowiec - one of the longest (i think second) buildings in Europe. Maybe it’s not really pretty but it’s still fascinating and worth to see it. You have to visit also stocznia gdańska - it’s historical shipyard converted to some kind of party place for young people with unique vibe. I don’t know if you know but Gdańsk is connected with another cities - Sopot and Gdynia. Sopot is perfect place to chill and Gdynia is city of modernism. You must come back here in the future! but i’m glad you enjoyed anyway☺️
I’ve been to Gdańsk, it really surprised me how beautiful the town is. Wonderful people, delicious food, very affordable, and the large park is awesome and the beach is much nicer than I imagined.
Sammy and Tommy - I have been following your videos of all your travels for some time. And I just loved what you said - “It’s always about the people not the destination”. It’s not cheesy, it’s emotional. That really hits the nail on the head and I love so much how your videos have always been kind and positive to the locals of each destination you visited. My partner and I enjoyed the locals we met in our travels to Peru and Vietnam as we always take back those reflections more so than the landmarks. It really gives you a new perspective in live and that is always going to be beautiful to us. From Denmark, Cam ơn - Muchas gracias - Merci - Danke - Tusind Tak - Dziekuje bardzo - Thank You

I am from Poland. I visited Gdansk this summer with my family. It’s a beautiful city, but is it the most beautiful Polish city? I think that’s debatable. Krakow is a beautiful city. So is Wroclaw, and so is much of Warszawa. I haven’t been to Poznan or Szczeczin, which are also known for being charm cities. There are many charming smaller cities and towns in Poland as well. But yes, Gdansk is a great city. I live in the USA and only manage to visit family in Poland every few years, but every now and then I dream of somehow finding a way to spend more time there. I have travelled throughout Europe and the USA, and Poland is genuinely one of the cleanest, friendliest and most beautiful countries that I have visited or lived in. Within 20 years, it will have one of the strongest economies in Europe. It is already becoming an immigration destination for people from Slavic countries who want to move somewhere cleaner, safer, more affluent and less corrupt with more economic opportunities.
