You should throw your big garden soil, horticulture soil, whatever it's called into your row garden so that it can slowly mix in.And that would be like mulch into your dirt, and will help that dirt out

I too think raised rows would be better ..you are so right to experiment....make sure you mulch for over the winter...it will rot an nourish the soil .......,.,watch every vidios you put ....you are living my dream I love your family. Sending you all my love and many blessings❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Don’t worry about your raspberry cane plant. Take the top off and stick it in the ground. The broken plant will grow and spread no problem. Your head lettuce is doing fine. Don’t worry about it. Keep it watered and you’ll get lettuce. They’re a slower growing lettuce. Garden is looking great! Keep up the hard work.

❤ Beautiful! For the owner to show up to give you the key personally, leave the buildings clean & organized, the lawn newly cut means they loved their home but wanted to meet the person that would be its new caretaker.
So no more negative feelings about how you received the property. It was meant to be yours !!
It's perfect for you to prosper in all your dreams !!🎉❤

If you have an extra branch or two on your raspberry bush you can cut it and put it water let it grow roots and plant.
    Bunnies love strawberries.
I am going to send you some ghost pepper, scorpion peppers, carolina reapers, and hot banana pepper seeds, if you like. I have mega amounts available and plant them around veggies you don't want animals getting into.
Garden is coming right along !

Your garden is looking good. Next year it will be even better. If you eat bananas, put the peels in a bucket of water. Stir them & let set for a few days than add to garden. It's really good on when just starting seeds also.
Henry is starting to babble now, so cute. 😊

If the leaves of the lettuce is bitter then just feed to the chickens if you have any, or compost. Lettuce can be replanted by seed and you might get some. Red Simpson is the best for leaf lettuce. You are doing an amazing amount of work. So proud of you!

May I make a suggestion , don't wear your wedding ring while working the small prongs that hold the diamond on can wear off and then you will lose the set. I've lost 2 diamonds, now I check my rings for lose sets regularly.

    • @marlysjcollins8775
      @marlysjcollins8775 6 месяцев назад +2

This is great advice. I worked for a jeweler and learned to put my diamond in a safe place where even I’m doing any heavy cleaning or yard work. I have a designated hook in my pantry and another designated spot in my bedroom. ALWAYS put it in the same place(s)! Even laundry can be harsh on your ring as the setting can easily be caught in the edge of the machine.

FYI sorry if I’m giving you info you know .. asparagus takes about 3 summers to be able to harvest. They’ll come back each year less immature. I didn’t k ow that when I first planted them and I was waiting and waiting for them to come in as I would recognize them. 🤣🤣🤣
THOSE ASPARAGUS looked exactly as they should right now. I find those pretty hearty also. Hopefully you get a good harvest bc they come back annually and easy to take care of
Side note. Strawberry’s. When you have a runner long enough , keep it attached to the mother plant and then like pin it to the ground so it continues to grow. If you follow what I mean. I take chopsticks or forks to do (ik you aren’t potentially able to use those). Just keep the runner attached to the mother plant and the strawberry’s will explode.

My garden is producing so much all of a sudden. All the hard work has paid off. (Btw I got the card. TYVN. When I was in the hospital one of the kids just of placed it in a pile I did not see 🤦🏼‍♀️). Garden looks good girl. You’re doing great!
Enjoy enjoy enjoy those times Henry naps on you. My kids are 19, 18 next month and 16.5. By a year from now all 3 will have graduated from Hs and that’s kind of scary to me. I’m not a helicopter mom but to think I won’t have any home is weird. Enjoy the time. It goes FAST!!!

The garden is doing well. You are learning so much this year, what to plant and where to plant. Agree, you may have to take down a few more tree. Put the strawberries a place where they can vine and multiply. Thought the lettuce looked fine, might be different kind from what you expected. Henry is going to be your garden helper. Understandably the cabin and wood shed are priority. I enjoyed seeing the garden progress.

Keep up the good work with your gardening ideas. The little green house and the big hill with the onions on top ar great ideas! I always have the best luck with cucumbers, potatoes, squash, pumpkin, tomatoes, and chives. Lettuce is not the best for me really ever, but I still try. I also do 5 gallon buckets. I drill holes in the bottom of the buckets and it works great. Are you going to plant or have you planted fruit trees or berries? The tree bracing and fencing around all the trees is a pain is the booty, but necessary to keep animals from snacking on them.

Head lettuce is a cool season vegetable that prefers sunny locations with fertile will drain soil. With a pH level between 6.0 and 7.0. And they need to be 6 to 8 in apart. Plant by seed usually do it two weeks before you put in the ground or raise bed or buckets.

Becca you should try to grow catmint it’s a natural mosquito repellant that you can just rub on your skin. Not toxic at all. Safe for animals and human of all sizes!!
Garden trouble add perlite into the soil. It keeps it loose and air can get into it. Most garden centres use it for their pots. It’s the cheapest thing to use. Orchid soil is also great but very expensive. Give it a try I’m sure you will like the results. Cabins moving along fab. 🎉😂

Spinach is THRIVING here lol . It’s a pretty durable plant. Just an FY, I did one seed at a time last 2 years and way too little spinach was harvested. This year I put a bunch seeds together and it did much better , especially bc you need a lot of spinach to make it a side.

Talk to a gardener in your area about where to plant what. Transplanting is hard on a plant. It takes a while for any area when you first start it. Two or three weeks is nowhere near long enough to judge a garden area. Patience is important when gardening. There are some plants that thrive in hugelkulture.
