    Hi ! If I try to assign the volume knobs to another parameter using MIDI Mapping it doesn't do anything, the knobs stays assigned to the volume control. Any idea what the issue is?

      OK so if anyone else is struggling with this: I came across a post on the Ableton forum saying you must enable (check) the Remote column for "In: APC_Key_24_mk2 Input" in the settings (/preferences). If for some reason it's unchecked the manual MIDI mapping won't work. Tried that and it fixed my problem. No idea what the Remote column actually means though ...

      Sorry for the late Reply just seeing this, but it seems like you figured it out, so that is great. Yes, midi in/out of any controller should be toggled depending on desired mappings via the preferences menu, and then you can map. I hope you are enjoying your APC so far. Let us know what features you enjoy! @@Niles7787

    Hey! I need help. I did everything like you said but I still can't hear when I am playing on APC Key 25 and I can't even press all botuns. What should I do?

      Did you try to go into the Midi Preferences in Ableton and selecting APC Key 25 control surface, in and out on the drop-down menus?

      @@lookatmyprofilepictue8289 Thats interesting i'm sure you've already tried different USB Cables. Did you try using it in other software as well like logic or reason to see if its sending a signal? Sounds like you might have a manufature defect or a damaged unit.

      @@lookatmyprofilepictue8289 Oh man that sucks I hate dealing with customer service I always thought the two companies were better than that. You have a local music shop near you? Might reach out to the GM or owner for a Akai Rep to see if they can get to the bottom of it. Sorry you have to deal with that

    Can I re-code the keys to make it a drum pad for me to finger drum on? And then switch them to keys again? I'm debating getting either the Key 25 or mpk mini.

    • @MusicGearMondays
      @MusicGearMondays  2 года назад

      If you want drum pads the mpk is better then the APC the pads are more closer to like an mpc or something the pads on the APC are tiny and a little stiff. Great for launching clips but not really playing samples. Both are amazing and serve their purpose though

      @@davidcrocco7681 that’s interesting they should automatically be mapped to control launch clips capabilities and the pan volume perimeters. I ordered one as well so I’ll have to check it out and let you know what I find. If your not out of your warranty try to get it swapped for another see if maybe there’s a hardware issue.

      yes will work with reason but doesn't have all of the features so I think you would be better off just getting an mpk mini or one of the korg nano midi controllers.
