Every single time I go to London and I get off at Preston I play this song because it reminded me of Transpennie express that The Advert and I wanted to play it and my cousins started on singing my favourite part is “Mr sandman Yess? Bring me a dream” ❤
It's nice to see a colorized version of this video. This pop tune is an example of "close-harmony" singing, which was especially popular among vocal groups in the 1950s and early `1960s. Maybe the best of them all were the Andrews Sisters, who had many hits in the 1940s and 1950s. They were especially popular during WW II.
I like how while they're singing 'Lollipop' they throw lollipops to the audience. I wonder what would happen if the Champs did this while doing 'Tequila.'

Hi fan178 someone else with good taste in decent genuine music.
@@williamelliott7906 Absolut GENIAL !!!!
Und Acapella , noch dazu Top !!!
i would give a kidney to go back and live in the 50s and 60s
So would I....let's find the nearest Time Machine and get on it!!
Just recreate it at home. You'll need 3 gallons of Scotch, 5 cartons of Lucky Strikes, sexism, and racist remarks. Boom.... you're in the 50's/60's.
Time for back to the future.
Thanks for the 900 upvotes I got by posting this on r/lewronggeneration.
@@dogwoodfan777almost like it’s been around forever, no?

And just look how smart and dashing those kids look. A time when standards were on a different level to today.
It's the sound that really represents the 50's 👍💕
I absolutely love these ladies ❤❤❤❤ this is real and pure music 🎵
Какие прекрасные девушки, а мелодия знакома с детства, приятно слушать

There was something truly special about this group and Janet Ertel in particular for me just was a chefs kiss singer.
