Vonna, Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is the first time I have seen you put pins in the corners to keep the stuffing where it belongs. If you have done this before, it went completely over my head. I am always disappointed when I have floppy corners. I will include this new technique next time I finish a pillow. You are the most generous person on Flosstube. You share freely and never ask for anything in return. I get annoyed with other floss tubers who ask for 'buy me a coffee', or the like, when they don't offer anything of value like you do. Best wishes to you and your entire family. Stay well. Best, K
Thank you again, Vonna. I do love watching your finishing videos. Never thought to use a toothbrush to smooth out the chenille. My daughter will love this video, too, as she loves cross stitching. Happy day😊
Thank you so much one again for sharing your wealth of knowledge, hints, tips and experience of your craft Vonna!! Love the toothbrush idea for brushing the nap of the chenille!! Great tip!!
Thanks Vonna, just purchased this kit. ooy that linen is expensive, started to use silks which also added to the cost. I love the metal turning tool that I purchased months ago from an earlier video. I so appreciate your generous, loving tutorials and have passed on to family members 🏆
Thank you Vonna! I never dreamed I could finish my own pillows but I can and have finished many. Thanks to You Tube I can thread my sewing machine 😂 and thanks to you my friends are in awe of my finishes. You are a fantastic teacher bursting with generosity and I know I’m one of many who appreciates you!
My idea of camping now is staying at a Hampton Inn!!! When I was younger my family camped a lot. I also went to Girl Scout camp in Wisconsin where we stayed in tents!
@@jbell3601 thank you, you ought to look at all of my tutorials written with pictures and video….Ive been teaching the world how to finish FREE for 20 years.
I wish I had found your video before I did my finishing yesterday. Those pins in the corner are a great idea! Can’t wait to try this. Thanks for sharing all your great tricks/hints. ❤
I saw this and thought, well, I've already watched her other pillow finish tutorials, i dont need to watch this one. But then I thought, it's Vonna! Just watch it if for nothing else than to hear her awesome accent! So i did and learned two new useful tips, the pins to hold the stuffing in the corners, and the toothbrush to fluff up the chenille. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and expertise with us. And the encouragement to take the plunge and finish our own stuff. You are a woman of great worth, far above rubies! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so thrilled to have found you! I've recently taken up stitching smalls and they are piling up because I've been afraid to botch them. You've taken all fear out of me and will now finish them with confidence. You're a stitching gem! 🙂
Thank you so much Vonna for sharing your wonderful finishing techniques, especially using a toothbrush on the chenille. Your finishing videos are always so great. One of these days, I will actually get some finishing done. You are truly a blessing!
An alternative to the expensive point tool is a nail-art dotting tool. They are super cheap and come in a variety of sizes! You have taught us all SO MUCH! Thank you endlessly!
There is many options, I have a lot of tutorials and a lot of experience, my experience has shown this is the best tool to date I have ever used. One issue with the dotting tool, it is very much smaller than the tool I’m using, it will push through the material if not extremely careful. Second problem, not a long handle for larger projects. But yes, alternative option from the $15-20 tool I use, however think how much time is put into that ornament, pillow, stand up in stitching alone…. The tool is reusable.
@@VonnaPfeiffer I hope my comment wasn't disrespectful! I value your judgment in all things sewing, I just know I have found success with a larger-tipped dotting tool. I'm sure the tool you have is vastly superior (and I'm just being cheap!). Your tutorials are a constant source of inspiration and insight, and we're all tremendously fortunate you share with all of us!
Thank you Vonna! Every time I watch one of your videos I learn more! Thanks for kindly sharing your knowledge. I have to say, I am now more confident when I fully finish my stitch projects!
Thanks for another wonderful video, Vonna! I learn new tips & tricks with each new release. I love the toothbrush method for smoothing the chenille trim. Your finishes are always perfect! You give fantastic instructions and make it look easy. When I finish my project I will return to your video to make my pillow. Thank you
Wonderful tutorial!! My favorite tips are the type of stuffing you use, pins in the corners holding the stuffing in place, how you layer/build the filling within, the RNK turning tool, and the toothbrush chenille fluffing tip at the end - all brilliant!! Thank you again for sharing of yourself and your knowledge!! Know that you are appreciated!! Have a wonderful day! Until next time. ❤

I can't tell you how much I appreciate these tutorials! It's very kind for you to share your incredible knowledge. Not to mention you're a hoot! I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks Vonna! I’ve not used chenille for finishing. I knew I would find a super video from you! I love finishing my littles and your videos are always my go to. Best tip ever. Fluffing the chenille with a toothbrush 🎉
Thank you. Beautiful work. I always stitch a second row just around each corner for reinforcement and iron back the two unsewn areas to give me straight lines to hand sew. Love your tutorials.
Well that’s sort of what I’m doing when I reverse and go forward in the corners - It’s actually giving the corners 3 layers of reinforced sewing. And finger pressing or pressing - whatever one wishes to do. Sounds like you don’t need to be watching my tutorials, I believe you’ve got your routine down to a fine, perfected art. Merry Christmas 🎁
Thank you so much for sharing your time-earned knowledge with all of us. Words can’t express my gratitude! You are a great, giving and kind woman! Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing your technique of how you finish sewing the chenille trim on the linen cross stitched pillow. You are so generous with your knowledge and I thank you for it.
Wow Vonna! A compliment by one of my new favorites! The Recovering Monogamous Stitcher! (Have you seen her quilts?!) Anyway…Thx for being kind to those of us who don’t sew, are afraid to sew, and we send it to you instead! Lol! I mean that tutorial is so straight forward, even I can do it. But I’m still sending my current stocking to you! Lol! I miss hearing you on these RUclips videos. Love it when you get on here and show us all the crafts you’ve been up to. Can’t wait for the next one. Thx from me for encouraging us to give it a try and work around if we don’t want to use a sewing machine. No excuses huh?🤗
