I love purple coneflower. I bought three plants last year (2019), and this spring they came back so thick that I split one plant into 2, and added it to my garden. Now I have 4 plants doing great. It’s hard to kill coneflower. Great video by the way. I also harvest the seeds, and sprinkle them in my garden. They came up this year too.

I planted three different colours last year. In the fall, I pulled the seeds out and just dropped them beside the plants of origin. So far, it doesn't look like they "took".
So I'll try this way. Thanks so much for taking the time to post!

Love your videos. I started saving all type of flower seeds when was about eight. I would always collect when we go to zoos and just any place with beautiful gardens. My mother would always require me to get permission to harvest such said seeds. On our different travels I have collect heirloom varieties and met many wonderful people always so willing to share their knowledge and of course those seeds. That was over 50 years ago and today I have tried to share my seeds with anyone but especially youngsters that show an interest. Paper cups and a little soil can spark that interest in most little ones. I collect all types of seeds and yes even some that people deem as weeds. Collect, plant, share, enjoy, and get excited each time you see Gods miracle sprout through that dirt.
    Keep doing your videos.

@@auyannaplants If you put the dried seed pods in a coffee can, mason jar, etc. and then shake it, it totally separates the seed from the pointy pod and you can discard the entire (in tact) pod and throw it away then. You're left with the seeds without picking through them. Best to cut the pod from the flower base, let it dry for a week to remove all moisture that was in the stem, then shake them in a can or jar to separate the seeds. Great video!

I always appreciate learning from those who share their garden knowledge. I depend on these videos because I avoided gardening all my life, but now I am retired and making an effort to learn. Now I did learn from another video that showed how to separate the seeds. The echinacea tops were placed in a container with a top and shaken. He used an empty plastic Folgers coffee container; it was amazing how the seeds separated making the process less messy and efficient. I look forward to watching more videos from you; I feel like I have made a gardening friend. Thank you very much.

I've been saving all sorts of seeds and lots of them. I had been eyeing the Cheyenne Spirit at Home Depot but it was $21.00 and I don't usually spend that much but I loved all of the bright, beautiful colors. I splurged and bought one and it's gorgeous! I decided to buy it because it will be back every year, plus I can save seeds and plant them in more spots. At $21.00, saving the seeds does = a gold mine! I've also got huge, beautiful giant Zinnias which I'm saving the seeds from as well as small marigolds, small Zinnias, giant marigolds, and one of my favorites...celosia! I've just recently learned about where seeds are on some flowers. Some are easy like Zinnias and marigolds but celosia, and petunias are trickier, but after learning about seed pods, I've a ton of petunia seeds as well! 🙂

I love the Cheyenne Spirit coneflower it is so beautiful. I love buying perennials so that I can have them longer. I love that you are saving seeds......YES once you figure out which one of the seeds you will have to buy less and less flowers and just continue to replant what you save. Saving seeds are great because those seeds will be more acclimated to your climate. Thank you so much for watching!

Oooohhh those brown recluse😶😶😶 I was bit and was unconscious, (from my own overwhelming fear) but was brought right to the hospital after the itchy stage and I realized it wasn't a chigger bite. Within the next couple hrs that strange brown line began appearing. Luckily, I was already in route to the hospital. Crazy, 3 glasses of ice water couldn't keep me awake on the ride to Conway Medical.
The ice water probably felt too good in the still hot summer night. I miss South Carolina, it's laid back feel, the almost stuck in time feel to what seemed like many towns I visited- besides Myrtle Beach, of course.
My neighbors (you know I mean the whole road, they'd INSIST on a weekly gathering and though I felt a bit guilty for being so far away from my own family, they ALL, incuding those at Conway Baptist Church, made it an absolute MUST that I accept to be welcomed as a part of their family. For the few years I was there. (With time each yr to visit home, of course)
The time in between (I could throw a rock and hit Border Patrol- Upstate- not 5 mins outside NYC/Albany. I work in Albany, so I'm 2&1/2 hrs north) going from NY and SC, took some adjustments each time.
What I'll never forget about the people I met, those who touched my heart and the truly genuine, authentic way everyone treats everyone.
After living there for 3 yrs, the word, "Southern Hospitality", have an entirely different meaning- to me, an intuitive empath anyways.
I have sub'd to your channel.
Thank you for sharing how to collect these seeds, as I also hate wearing gloves (in the garden for anything too- it's the feels) but I feel pulling from the top first, may illeviate some of the poking. Lol.

I've learned that the whole plants is eatable, but of course I would not eat the top middle part, a bit painful, but wonder IF a person could use that part, after getting the seeds out 1st, then I wonder IF the pointy middle of the top & add when making Tinctures with 80 or above of vodka alcohol as well as other choices of alcohol, great for soups, salads & so much more... I watched a video where this man even used the stock of this awesome medicinal plant to add to his tincture... First time growing some Echinacea, living in an apartment, so not sure IF I can grow them in a 5 gallon pot, anyone know please? 😘 🌹🌈💞🎵🌷🌼🌺💖😆👏👍💫🌟✌ 💛 ☘️

My biggest echinacia plant has a lot of drying seed heads this time of the year. A couple of those seeds heads seem to be growing a sort of green fuzz; I let it go for a couple weeks and the green fuzz began looking like. tiny plants, dozens of them... I figured the seeds had began to germinate "on the plant," what, with all the rain, and all, they felt comfortable enough to grow. So, last year I cut off a few seedheads and stuck them in the ground, thinking the little plants had a good head start over the seeds. Well, they died (i did water them.) I was wondering if you had any thoughts on how to make them root, because I'd like to salvage this year's crop. Thank you for any light you might shed on my little problem.
